Eric Cantor’s office shot up

I’m seeing reports this morning that Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) had one of his offices shot at on Monday night. Cantor, of the Jewish faith, is the #2 Republican in the House of Representatives and was responsible for ensuring our caucus united against Obamacare.

FOX News also reports of a racist threat made against Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Ohio).

Update: Video from Cantor himself.

News media to blame Giles and O’Keefe.

  • Common_Cents

I’m sure Steny will be right on this one.

I seem to detect the M.O of the Left. They have always been more than happy to use physical violence and death as tools in advancing theri agendas. You don’t believe me ask the Romanovs.

Just like the case of the Dem in Colorado wo’s office was vandalized, it turns out a Left wing nut did it. after all everyone knows that EricCantor is a stuanch opponenet of the unconstitutional Healthcare bill.

  • rstansbury

its a democrat being harassed to which we must assume the guity party is a republican, conservative, or tea bagger, et al.

The incident was reported two hours ago on Fox News web site. Out of curiousity, I checked MSNBC’s web site. Hmmm. nothing. So Let’s check CNN. Hey there’s a link to it in small print. Right beneath big headlines of a Don’t Ask – Don’t Tell story.

So apprently, it’s not a big story if its open season on a Republican. I’m shocked.

  • Repair_Man_Jack

ALL Democrats are racist bigots….ALL Democrats are anti-semitic and can’t be expected to repond maturely to robust political debate.

Oops, the media doesn’t report these things the same way when they happen to GOP office-holders.

that strutted through the tea party protests, as she carried an oversized gavel through the crowd, actually did that because they WANTED to incite the crowd. They did that on purpose hoping that something would have been caught on tape. Nothing was caught because 99.9% of the tea partiers are descent law abiding citizens.

It’s interesting many Jewish conservatives have written about the extent of the anti Semitic mail that they receive. It sure as hell ain’t coming from the right. mark Levin spoke about it on his show recently. As long as there are Jews on their side they will keep their hatred in check but as soon as there is a Jewish conservative they lose control and let out their true antisemitism that they harbored all along.

  • spim

just like they do the Republicans

no .. wait … that’s only in the Universe of Fluffy Bunnies, Rainbows and Unicorns in my head

  • http://thesandsinstitute.org Vassar Bushmills

    Don’t bet on it.

  • retiretherinos

The Democrats are playing with fire. The moron that threatened Jean Schmidt is clearly an Obama supporting black that watches CNN or perhaps MSNBC.

  • Jack_Savage

This is as eloquent and forceful denunciation of the left’s use of incidents like this as I have ever seen. He called out Van Hollen and Kaine in particular, and they should be ashamed.

On a related note, now that Cantor’s office has been shot up, what the hell is MSNBC going to talk about tonight? How a Weather Underground sleeper cell screwed up their instructions to sit tight because the narrative was improving?

  • louisiana

two fly out of my mouth, but this guy was beyond disgusting. All repu. are racists, etc.– not recognizing the racism in himself.

  • janis

Just like they wouldn’t acknowledge that it was lefty that threw the brick through Louise Slaughter’s office window in New York state. If someone on the Right gets an event like this, they asked for it.

Eric Cantor being a Jew is all the reason they need to blame it on some disgruntled Joo-hatin, toothless, cousin-humpin’ hillbilly with extremist Christianist views. And since I didn’t see any of the usual suspects leaving my neck of the woods overnight……

  • Jim Tomasik

Did you see the really huge sign one of us had saying:

“If TEA Partiers hear anyone using s racial slur, point them out and boo them, take their picture and put it on the internet.”

If you or anyone else has a picture of that sign, please post it.

The only”N” words being chanted was “NO” and NNNNAAAANNNNCCCCYYYYY!!!! (Come out and plaaaayyyyyy!)

We had one of the three bull horns.

  • raydawggie

The left has a pathological hatred towards Jewish conservatives – or even moderates. Look at how they turned on Lieberman.

Glad to hear no one was hurt. I’d love to see Eric Cantor not let the media get away with hushing this up. The guy’s one of the best, and we could do worse than to have him out there pointing out the hypocrisy of the left.

  • tngal

Apparently Rep. Steve Israel (yea a dem) is upset Sarah Palin used the word ” reload” in a tweet. Here’s her tweet

Commonsense Conservatives & lovers of America: “Don’t Retreat, Instead – RELOAD!” Pls see my Facebook page.

To which Rep Israel hit back slams back at her with:

Reload? @SarahPalinUSA Is your choice of words inciteful or ignorant?

Well it didn’t make me inciteful before, but now that rep israel got so miffed about it it makes me want to slap some sense into him. Honestly thinking the word reload is going to incite something.

Anyway, if you want the whole story its up here….

It’s this type of attitude among the ruling elite which led to Kristalnacht. These people are just frightening

  • rbc

I don’t want this to be another B-carved-in-the-forehead incident where we speak out too loudly before we have all the facts. The Associated Press is reporting that it was a “possible gunshot” fired at a building housing a political consultant to Rep. Cantor, not Rep. Cantor’s district office. Maybe we should wait until all the facts are in. There has been no video or photographic evidence of this act which supposedly happened days ago, and this is exactly what we were upset about when the allegations of inappropriate tea party behavior were reported by the MSM just the other day.

With that said, violence against anyone is wrong and should be condemned in the clearest and loudest possible terms.

  • janis

That’s a huge difference from the “B” incident. Reported by Cantor is something that I would trust. You wouldn’t ?

  • raydawggie

He’s a conservative. That means he’s not a “Real minority”.

Just like Sarah Palin wasn’t a “Real woman”

Not to mention, the left really doesn’t seem to have a problem with anti-semitism as a whole nowadays, unless it’s Rush repeating their own comments back at them.

  • spim

    that is so cool

Civilized, heroic, staunch, etc. in the face of one of the greatest threats to our nation in our time.

One of my most favorite C. S. Lewis quotes (probably paraphrased) is…

“There have always been civilized men … and they’ve always been surrounded by barbarians.”

  • Castor

That just as Barack Hussein Obama is dissing Netanyahu and feeding the Israelis to the iranian sharks that some anti-semitic leftwing loon takes a potshot at an office of our highest ranking conservative Jewish Republican.

  • RedBeard

This country has not been unified; it has been ripped apart at the seams. The responsibility for that rests on the ever-more-sloping and feeble shoulders of Barack Obama. And, of course, the ignoramuses who bought into the hopey-changey lunacy and voted for him.

  • http://beaglescout.wordpress.com Beaglescout

And then they blame it on anti-semitic conservatives… just to prove to those who doubt that they do live in bizarro-world.

  • jb13

all along. Guns are evil. They need to be banned.

  • archer52

I feel like I’m seeing a repeat of the Sean Connery Untouchables moment. Somebody throws a brick through a democrat’s window and leaves a message and the left responds with gunfire.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7g0RLyxP13o

Gee, I wonder who on the left that supports radical change would be likely armed. Hmmm…..

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neGbKHyGuHU

    Just saying…

  • rbc

There is a huge difference. But the police are now saying the bullet was not fired at his office.

“The Richmond Police Department just released a statement on the shooting. The skinny, per a preliminary investigation: A gun was fired into air; a bullet struck window in down direction; it broke a windowpane but did not cause any additional damage.”

  • http://moelane.com/ Moe Lane

And the Democrats are fine with that, btw.

  • steveg8r1

Unless I’m way off here…if I want to call a congressman’s office and call him a “punk” on his voice mail…that;s not illegal. If I want to assemble with other like-minded souls to call a congressman a “babykiller”…said congressman may not like it….but tough blankety.

Limbaugh, Hannity, Mancow, Savage and all the other Conserv radio-people get called far worse on their voice mail and in the public domain. But you don’t see that NBC “Today Show jackhole” Ann Curry begging a Dem Senator to denounce “the madness.”…as she did w/ McCain this AM.

THIS IS A PURE,NAKED ATTEMPT TO STIFLE ABSOLUTE FREE SPEEECH. HAMMER BACK!!!

  • steveg8r1

Eric Cantor is a lifelong resident of Richmond. I have family there and they know him thru his synagogue and the JCC. He has the greatest family and he is the most honest guy in Congress. Tie between he and Bobby Jindal for the most honest, hard-working, family-man politicians in America.

Send emails, faxes…make phone calls to the Obama White House and your representatives denouncing this terrible ant-American, anti-Semite act.

    - Shooting at Congressmen
    - Beating up tea party attendees or vendors
    - Rioting in Ottawa
    etc.

Those are all considered valid exercises of free speech, as opposed to horrible acts that can’t be tolerated like:
    - Mentioning God in a valedictory speech
    - Praying outside an abortion clinic
    - Saying ‘Merry Christmas’
    etc.

  • earlgrey

I would consider that my home had been shot at. Wouldn’t you?

  • Hugh_Jass

    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/03/26/lawmakers-office-struck-by-random-gunfire/?fbid=nd7iQhI2J5z

In a news release Thursday, police said the bullet struck at about 1 a.m. on Tuesday. The preliminary investigation showed that “a bullet was fired into the air and struck the window in a downward direction, landing on the floor about a foot from the window. The round struck with enough force to break the windowpane but did not penetrate the window blinds. There was no other damage to the room, which is used occasionally for meetings by the congressman.”

The building, which has several tenants including an office used by Cantor, was unoccupied at the time, the news release said.

  • http://moelane.com/ Moe Lane

Either that, or he gets a cut of the money that the DNC is trying to raise from this.

  • smbn

So what happened? Was his office shot at intentionally, or was it an accident?

  • http://moelane.com/ Moe Lane

Now let’s get back to why the Democrats are trying to raise money off of fake attacks and refusing to take responsibility for real ones, ‘kay? – That’s not actually a request. In fact, tell us why you think that they are in your next post.
