No, that wasn’t Chuck DeVore being slammed

Ray Haynes at Flash Report has a subtle hit up on somebody running for office this year:

The key years for the current budget are the 06-07 and the 07-08 budgets[....] As critical to the current crisis, however, is the 07-08 budget. A legislator, or former legislator that voted for 07-08 budget, and who is now running for office, who claims to be a fiscal conservative, is deceiving Republican voters.

I confess, I’m only watching two statewide races right now: Governor and Senator. So my first concern was whether this was an attack on Chuck DeVore, the only man in either race with experience in the California Legislature. That led me to check up on the matter.

As it turns out no, this can’t be referencing Chuck. He voted No on three of the last four budgets, including the budgets Haynes calls critical to our state budget crisis. The one yes vote was for the 08-09 budget after Republicans held out for 88 days against Democrat demands that we sign off on higher taxes. We won that holdout, and so this vote was not scored by the California Republican Assembly.

So rest easy, conservatives. Chuck DeVore is not a closet big spender.

If so, I’m already primed to vote for Sam Aanestad in the Primary anyway, so I’m way ahead of the curve on this one… ;)

(Maldonado is also the moron who’s behind trying pass an Initiative to replace Partisan Primaries in CA with the idiotic “Louisiana jungle primary” WHICH LOUISIANA HAS ALREADY *ABANDONED* USING for themselves! Oh, and Maldonado’s promotion to Lt. Gov. may cost the GOP a precious State Senate seat too. So there’s little good I can say about Maldonado… :/ )

Pretty sure Chuck voted against him too!

    Freaking Arnie.

    Neil

Could it be this guy? Principles, like heck, this clown wants to change Prop 13 to make it easier to raise my taxes, or at least he did when he ran in 2004 in this video clip, or let people out of prison early….YIKES.

Endorsed by this guy….Oh my! I can’t quite get my head around why McClintock endorsed Posiner, maybe someone can explain.

Poizner was never in the State Legislature that I can see.

I think the above commenter was right and it’s probably Maldonaldo.

  • SteveLA

So can you explain McClintock’s endorsement please, but might be a thread jack of the topic of your blog…so probably never mind.

…”It is filled with spineless Republicans who collapse in the negotiations when times are good, and whine when times are bad.”

I prefer the term “Republicans who hide under their Assembly desk”, but I’ll go for CA R’s who are more like this fellow when it comes to matters fiscal.

Supposed to have a picture of “The Cowardly Lion”…so I’m terrible with my BB code tool…arrrrrg

… there are no good answers.

I don’t like Poizner but he’s better than the alternative so I’ll probably be voting for him myself.

If only we could clone Chuck and run him in both races…
