FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

There was a man named Muzzammil Hassan

Muzzammil was a Muslim.

Muzzammil thought Muslims were being portrayed unfairly as violent after 9/11.

Muzzammil created a TV network called Bridges TV to counteract that.

Muzzammil had a wife named Aasiya.

Aasiya declared she was going to divorce Muzzammil.

Muzzammil plotted his wife’s beheading at his TV network, then did it.

Muzzammil was convicted of second degree murder.

I’ve started linking into overseas reports as well, Neil. There’s a lot we aren’t getting from our media, not even Fox.

and then did exactly as he was portreyed.
    How ironic.

“Hassan never denied killing her but said she had abused him and that he had acted in self-defence.” Uh… huh.

Also, can anyone tell me exactly why this was a second-degree murder, rather than a first-degree murder? Because a pre-meditated beheading *after* spousal abuse on *his* part seems like it should be first-degree.

In New York premeditated murder is still second degree murder. It becomes first degree only under “special circumstances” … but since everything I know about it comes from wikipedia why don’t I just post the link:
