Santorum Endorses Romney

In an email to supporters tonight, Rick Santorum endorses Mitt Romney. He mentioned the meeting he has with Romney on Friday, which lasted more than an hour, and some of the topics discussed. They included the importance of families in America and keeping them an integral part of the economy, the role of “commonly overlooked” groups– social conservatives, Tea Partiers, and middle and low income families. He states that it is clear he and Governor Romney agree on their stances regarding abortion and gay marriage. He was also “satisfied” with the Governor’s answers regarding national security and foreign affairs. Above all, he said, our biggest task is defeating President Obama. Romney will need all of our support to do that, so the Senator chose to endorse him.

The worm is turning…the American people may be waking up to who and what Obama really is when they look to Europe and see that Obamaesque policies do to an entire region.

Even if there’s no television appearances or stumping, I’m glad that Santorum endorsed Romney.

Yeah, I’ll pull the lever for Romney in November, but that doesn’t mean I’m drinking the kool-aid. He still has a hell of a time repealing Obamacare because Romneycare looks so much like it.

And he’s going to have a tough time beating The Big 0. Those attack Santorum made on his wealth and for which Santorum was criticized? Romney never refuted them, it was the rest of us conservatives who did. Even then we only managed to carry the argument because the Republican base already agrees with that position. In the general Romney has to make the argument AND he has to convince those who don’t already agree with us.

Lastly, Romney may have been able to buy himself the Republican nomination with negative attack ads on his opponents, but nobody has enough money to buy an election when the press is already against you. All those negative ads, yeah they’ll turn that around on him as someone not moving the country forward. And tying it into the new Big 0 slogan? Just coincidental, really it is.

SCOTUS is about to drop the hammer on Obamacare in about a month…and the time for mindlessly attacking the GOP candidates has come and gone.

Romney is the nominee….period…so either join the fight to replace Obama or get the hell out of the way.
