Simply meant as we're young, and we're conservative :) I don't want us "singled out", but there should be at least some consideration to how policies instituted today will affect the next generation. But that's not special pandering, more just an awareness for the future. Trust me, I agree that there shouldn't be a lot of "special treatment"!

from the article:

"I repudiate the effort by that PAC to promote an ad strategy of the nature they've described. I would like to see this campaign focus on the economy, on getting people back to work, on seeing rising incomes and growing prosperity -- particularly for those in the middle class of America. And I think what we've seen so far from the Obama campaign is a campaign of character assassination. I hope that isn't the course of this campaign. So in regards to that PAC, I repudiate what they're thinking about ... It's interesting that we're talking about some Republican PAC that wants to go after the president [on Wright]; I hope people also are looking at what he's doing, and saying 'why is he running an attack campaign? Why isn't he talking about his record?'"

What he said makes sense. Focus on Obama's record, and leave his religeon (what ever it is today) out of it.

Honourable (and somewhat silly, though understandable, and he has ample wiggle room since he does not control the PAC). But I look forward to his first TV ad anyway.

It says that states have to respect other states' laws. If that's the case, basically the DOMA is correct because 31 states have already banned gay marriage. I'm not sure if this is fully what you mean, just what I got from the parts I read.

Plus, the point of my letter wasn't to support the DONA (though I do)-- it was just voicing my support for Governor Romney :)

Republicans SHOULDN'T need to pander to any demographic group in the way you suggest "to discuss issues that pertain specifically to us".

This is precisely why the country is falling to the communists. People have not been taught the value and purpose of our founding documents and they havent been paying attention to how our country has been run either, so they don't really even realize HOW our country has been run is in VIOLATION of our founding documents.

Rather than having special interest group meeting with the President, it would be better if people knew what we were SUPPOSED to be doing in our government. That way, they would easily be able to determine for themselves if the Presidents proposed policies are good for them.

Finally, it's not so much that a policy should be deemed good for any particular demographic, social or special interest group. That is the card that the communists play all the time. OUR mantra IS that conservative policies are for the benefit of EVERYONE.

So, the thing to do is to EDUCATE the young people. (They should already have this education from their civics studies classes in school), although, now I understand that education may in many cases be somewhat bastardized. Therefore, give unto your youthful brethren and sisterhood the many useful conservative internet website links that they can use to educate themselves about the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Amendments, The Federalist Papers, etc. You can find many links here.

Also, Hillsdale College offers a free online course for people who want to learn about the Constitution. People enrolled in the course can read the material online at their leisure.
