The separation of church and state is a good thing if understood properly. Church refers to an official religious institution. The practice of separating church and state began with the ancient Hebrews. The King (state) came from the tribe of Judah and the Priest (church) came from the tribe of Levi. The two institutions were not to become one. They were to balance and check one another. God actually cursed kings for attempting to act as priests and removed priest who became simple "yes men" to the king.

With that being said, modern liberals and the usual "separation of church and state crowd" do not wish to separate the church from the state - that is standard practice in the U.S. Modern liberals want to separate the state from God and personal faith. They wish to make the state supreme by eliminating any religious beliefs which call that supremacy into question.

and I want to commend you for taking an interest in our nation and the patriotism that is evident in the many diaries that you post here. You are a shining example for our nation's youth to follow.

I share your concern about the decline of interest and/or respect for religion and studying the Bible in America -- the number one best selling book of all time.

I am even more dismayed when I hear Christians ridiculed and told to leave their principles out of politics. The ignorance of these people amazes me. They have completely disconnected the freedom our forefathers died for from the book they based their founding principles upon.

The Declaration of Independence mentions God four times -- and any in depth study of our nations founding would show beyond any doubt that this nation's founders used the Bible as the ultimate authority regarding how to govern nations, families, churches, etc. America has become so prideful and haughty that I would not blame God for leaving us to our own demise. Why should He care about a people who throw Him out of our schools and disregard Him in their legislation?

Keep up the good work and thank you for speaking out like you do.
