I've worked with them. On an individual basis they are good people. No different than the rest of us. But the place where they work demands they act against their better instincts all the time. They are overcome with bureaucracy and it is destroys individual initiative.

A quick story. One of my buddies is sent over to a task force. For a month he is watching and listening as the FBI led task force, targeting potential terrorism, holds meetings after meetings concerning what they should do. Sometimes they had a meeting to discuss an upcoming meeting. No lie! At one point another friend of his, also tasked over to the force, says "Hey, you are smart and know what to do but you haven't said a word for a month!" My buddy goes, "I'm waiting for someone to ask me my opinion." Finally somebody does and he says, "It seems to me you have identified a number of people who might be involved in criminal activities and potential terrorist networks. You have also identified a number of state crimes they violated. So, if your goal is to break up the network, arrest them for the the state crimes and put them in jail." He told me the head man said, "Oh NO, we don't want to arrest them, we want to watch them!"

He told me it was so bad that at one point he and another local PD detective went out on their own to photograph a suspect and his residence, vehicles and business. They wanted to follow him around for a day or two and see what he was up to and who he met. The supervisor went nuts telling them they couldn't do that without approval from above (no lie, that is the procedure). It got so bad that he actually complained that my friend and his buddies were "going rogue" because they wouldn't follow the procedures set in place by Washington. How bad was the "procedure?" A one day operation literally took up four days of pre and post memo writing. Four days of office work for one day in the street. Wow.

At the local level if we got a lead we jumped up and took off. We'd yell to our sergeant as we passed his office we were going out and he would nod and wave bye.

We caught a lot of bad guys.

The power of the FBI and the feds isn't in their system, but in their overwhelming power. If the FBI goes after you it might take two years but when they arrest you, you are pretty much done. They are very careful and usually have a case so well detailed it is really an automatic conviction. In the state courts you are innocent until proven guilty. In the Federal system you are more likely to be thought of as guilty and trying to prove your innocence, a powerful difference.

It's all too true that PC has invaded our entire society, however, there is something else going on with the Ft. Hood shootings that speaks to more than PC. The FBI had him on their radar for at least the last 6 months. He has been making anti-American statements and posting on radical websites for the last few years at least. There is a link at Ken Taylor's diary showing him to be a part of Obamas transition team. Napolitano is in Dubai calming the Muslims, and saying a backlash will not be tolerated. Holder is speaking to a Muslim group, and saying the same as Napolitano. There is something radically wrong when you choose to coddle some who may be capable of doing the same thing as Hasan. It is not a conspiracy theory when facts are brought to light. There is something that smells really bad about this whole thing, and, it's pointing to the WH, the FBI and the Army seniors that allowed this to happen.

Well crap!!! I feel really safe now....
The FBI is worthless.

I am feeling that the entire federal government is compromised because of political correctness.

Now the saying can be:
"I am from the federal government and I am here to compromise"

I think the feds have thrown up the white flag - but I won't surrender.

What more proof does Obama need?

I guess Obama will be in Fort Hood today apologizing for the Army?
