It is Christmas season again and the atheists are out in full force insulting Christianity at ever turn and doing everything they can to prevent the very word “Christmas” from being uttered in public.
Nobody 50 years ago would have believed that this could have happened. But then again they did not anticipate the rise of the atheist left and the secularization of America. One group even has put up a billboard saying that the birth of Jesus is fiction.
Yet if they are so sure of themselves, why must they continue to attack Christianity? Why don’t they make their own religion and promote that?
Answer: Because they are weak, uncreative, unfaithful and angry people. They believe in precisely nothing.
Indeed you hear ‘holiday’ this and ‘holiday’ that. But here’s news for the atheists – the very word ‘holiday’ is a contraction of the words “holy day”. So the joke’s on you.
There are so many anti-Christmas stories that it is hard to keep track, but here’s one with a good ending and a sign of progress: A Christmas Village outside city hall in Philadelphia was renamed Holiday Village recently. It is a private business that sells Christmas stuff. The story is that “a few people complained” about the word ‘Christmas’. But then the name was changed back to Christmas Village because hundreds of people responded in favor of Christmas.
The “few people” who initially complained are certainly the usual activists – angry, unhappy left-wing atheists looking for any way to spoil the brightness and happiness of Christmas and to undermine American history, tradition and freedom. They register a few complaints and the media echo them. Many of these media also are radicals and atheists.
And then there are the Muslims. Yes indeed you can rest assured that militant Muslims are now among the people who are registering objection to Christmas in their Thousand Year War on Jesus Christ. They will submit letters of protest under fake names, or they will campaign against Christmas on the internet using Western screen names.
Don’t doubt this. It is happening. They are using ‘soft’ techniques to undermine the West along with their ‘hard’ measures like terrorism. Their war never stops at the same time that they themselves flood into the Christian West to escape the deep-seated poverty, misery and backwardness of their own Islamic nations.
Perhaps they should stay home. Or go home.
Then there is corporate America which has dropped the word ‘Christmas’ from most of its advertising for four principal reasons:
*Most corporate executives are not ‘conservative’ in any way. Most of them are secular businesspeople who are Republicans only because they like the Republican party’s pro-business agenda. Otherwise they care little about other issues on the conservative agenda like the Constitution, abortion, Christianity, traditional marriage etc. On the other hand, many corporate executive came out of the 1960s and are leftists to begin with like Jeffrey Immelt at General Electric.
*Many people on corporate boards today are liberals with the same secular agenda.
*People “complain” to the businesses about the word ‘Christmas’. It is the same secular activist group as mentioned above.
*The advertising arms of corporations are populated by liberals because this is the “media” side of business. So they sway the agenda and keep the word ‘Christmas’ out of the advertising out of political correctness and anti-Christianity. They join in with the national media to create the perception that the word “Christmas” is bad for business, that it upsets people etc., which is a lie. If you did an actual survey you would find that most Americans love Christmas and its traditions even if they are not even Christians.
What other holiday around the world is so much fun? None. Because there is no religion that is so fundamentally tied to freedom, prosperity and happiness as Christianity is.
So how about we conservatives make a deal with corporate America: You establish your own ‘holiday’ to sell your stuff and don’t push it at Christmas unless you use the word “Christmas”. Fair enough. But no, they want it both ways. They want to sell their products but ignore the meaning of Christmas. They have turned it into a materialist bonanza.
In fact the current materialism of Christmas is not what Christmas or Christianity is even about. Christianity is spiritual and faithful in nature, and rejects materialism. It is about morality and goodness and unconditional love of, trusting in and belief in a Supreme God.
But the atheists even have a way to corrupt this idea. They say, for instance, that the Bible preaches that we should help the poor and then they use this idea to promote government handout programs.
This is a distortion, however, because it is Christian churches themselves that for centuries have aided the poor while the takeover of anti-poverty activity by the government is part of the secularization of America that also includes the marginalization of Christmas.
Liberals also love to say that “the Bible says that money is the root of all evil.” This is to stigmatize wealth as if to say that capitalism is a bad thing. And in Matthew 19:16-24 (New International Version), the Bible says in one of its best-known quotes (in italics below for emphasis):
16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”
17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”
18 “Which ones?” he inquired.
Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’”
20 “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”
21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.
24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
Then the Bible says in 1 Timothy 6:9-11 (King James Version), again with italics for emphasis:
9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
Two things: Notice that is does not say that ‘money is the root of all evil’, but that ‘the love of money is the root of all evil. And by “someone who is rich” the Bible means those who love money, not necessarily people who are successful and wealthy. These are two quite different things that secularists manipulate to their own ends. And in fact it is secularists themselves who love money more than anyone else. Just look at the richest and most grossly materialistic people in America today – in Follywood, in San Francisco, in New York, in Chicago, on Martha’s Vineyard, liberals all.
For those of us who love Christmas and our Biblical heritage, we say to the atheists, “Rather than malign our Christmas, create your own holiday. And enjoy it like we do ours. Which will be impossible to do. Because We Love Christmas, the day we celebrate the birth of God on earth. And you never will have anything to compare. Ever.”

I'm An Atheist...
BigGator5 (Diary) Monday, December 13th at 7:31AM EDT (link)I’m an Atheist, but nothing pisses me off more than other Atheists. I have found out that people who claim to be open-minded, to be the most close-minded people on the face of this Earth.
If someone comes up to me and tells me they are an Atheist, I automaticly want to hit them. It takes a lot of will power to not follow through.
During this time of year, I will say”Merry Christmas!” if anyone dared to wish me a Happy Holiday. Double so if I knew they were an Atheist.

One More Thing...

Nothing chokes me up this time of year than someone citing Luke 2: 8-14 (King James Version). I don’t know, maybe it has to do with Linus’ speech on what Christmas is really about and a childhood thing.
I know that sounds odd coming from an Atheist, but then I’m an odd duck.

God Bless you, BigGator
avgjo (Diary) Monday, December 13th at 7:54AM EDT (link)I myself am a Christian. However, I have had the honor of having 2 very honest and decent atheists as friends in my lifetime. And by ‘honest’, i don’t just mean truth-telling or straight-dealing. They were strong enough in their conviction that God doesn’t exist to not be threatened by my belief in God.
i always compare it to if someone told me they believed in Zeus. I might think them quaint for that, but certainly their belief threatens me in no way, since (a) I’ve never heard of a terrorist incident done in the name of Zeus and (b) since I personally don’t believe in Zeus as a real being. Therefore, I have no issue with it except where my belief as a Christian that that hypothetical fellow would go to hell. My only concern would be for his soul.
My honestly atheist friends look at me in a similar light. I admire them because they are so consistent in their views that they are not threatened by what I believe, and consequently they don’t have a problem with Christmas or religious symbols in public.
Judging by your above comments, you seem to be cut from the same cloth. For what it’s worth, what you say doesn’t sound odd, but refreshing. You can appreciate the beauty of the high ideas in that passage regardless of your opinion of its factuality. My hat’s off to you and I want to wish you a happy, blessed Christmas season, and good will to all.
Ceterum autem censeo, Obamaecuram esse delendam.
It’s the morality, stupid.
Merry Christmas To You Too! (N/T)
