The 4th Infantry Division Combat Aviation Brigade recently returned from a one year tour in Iraq. What’s remarkable is the brigade did not lose a single soldier or aircraft. According to Col. Patrick Tierney, the brigade commander, this is the first time in history that an aviation brigade has returned from combat with zero loses. Col. Tierney also adds that this is a difficult feat in peacetime operations.

We were only there for ~8 months, so maybe that doesn’t count in his book, or perhaps he is referring to the current conflict?
