Many of us here at Restate have been involved in this battle for a long time. Even before Redstate was created by a few courageous, brilliant individuals. We have been able to understand that we have a common goal due to their efforts.
We have hidden behind our keyboards knowing we when the time calls, we will “be there”. Well, that time has arrived. OUR time has arrived.

I have been reading a book SERIOUS TIMES FOR SERIOUS PEOPLE, (I just got a new IPAD and have not spent the time to learn all the commands for italics, etc,). I came across the most amazing quote by Peter Helm:

“the whole of a person’s life is fundamentally serious, something for which he is responsible to God, and for which he will have an account. He is individually responsible tonGod or what he “makes” of it.

If you read it, and felt a nudge, follow that nudge.

If we constantly come to Redstate, we are not here to be “readers of blogs”, “occasional blog posters,” etc., or we would never come back.

Senator Ryan has laid down a phenomenal plan to save the nation.

As passionate conservatives this is our time. It will not come again in our time. We need to take risks we never would as individuals – engage politically our gay friends, our hispanic neighbors, our african-american friends. We HAVE to converse with them on the realities we are facing.

Let us learn to do this in a manner that is patient and persuasive.

I am not sure if this is the right format for this. I am posting this knowing many of us have been mentored by Coldwarrior and I hope my post is in the same context.

We had our first county precinct meeting for the year this week. Interestingly, several of my precinct leaders expresses strong interest in striving to be delegates to the National convention. They already saw themselves as delegates to the state convention even though they have not been through the process.

Here are my thoughts on creating some type of challenge…

If I remember correctly, the Republican convention in St. Paul, MN was overtaken outside the convention by leftwing radicals. Let us not have that happen again.

How?

Just like they do…

Before we commit to a location, we need to plan numerous events for those of us that cannot be voting delegates, but still would like the opportunity to be a part of the convention. We could have many sessions where voters are educated on different …(never mind…you know where I am coming from).

Without having been there, I have no doubt this is already probably happening. I am talking about it on a much.
bigger scale. Redstater’s are from every state, and active and influential. I do not believe I am in an area different from each of you.
Can we not come together and create an amazing opportunity for our volunteers?

I wanted to share it with you.

I have a 32 year old stepdaughter, a 34 year old son-in-law, and a 28 year old stepson.  They all just met at their polling place to vote this afternoon.  What makes this so interesting, is the fact that none of them have ever voted before.  Two of them are not even registered.  Luckily, we can register at the voting place during early voting.

I have not discussed politics with them.  They know how active I am.  I know if they want any information from me, they know where to find me.  And they did.

They went to vote because they are angry at what this administration is doing to their futures and that of their children.  They are scared they will not have the opportunities their father and I have had.

When my son came back, he said there was a Mexican next to him that was also registering to vote for the first time.  This gentleman had a Republican voter guide in his hand.

I do not believe these four people are any different from citizens all across the country.  If I am correct, all of the professional pollsters are going to be way off.  As someone already stated, this is going to be a tsunami of mega proportion.

I already have my election day plan as a precinct chairman over four precincts…but I received a call from only one of my candidates asking of offering support.  I sent and email to my count commissioner running for re-election, an he passed it off to the County Conmissioners.

My thought is that they have never had anyone in the precinct level willing to organize and help them, and we are an enigma.  Active an engaged precint people are an entity they don’t know what to do with.

Anyway, just wondering what your experiences are.

I already know all the arguements. 

I am focused on getting out the votes for the four precincts I am over.

My mind is clear, and everyone I know that reads Redstate already going to vote the way that they want to vote….

So can we please not pontificate on our points….I need to get my neighbors out to vote…if your are not doing that, please do not waste my time with your posts. 

Give me voter fraud examples and how I can address them, or any other help.

But, honestly, I have been organizing my people for several months now based on several of the RedState

guidance, and I need Action..

We are under thirty days to election….. what news did you tune into today….Radio, TV, Newspaper, various websites…….you are “the factor” that determines how those headlines will read.   Mark your calendar – six months, one year….whatever you are seeing/doing today will determine what you read, see, blog six months to a year from now.

Who are you?..

- YOU cannot even comprehend putting a sign in your yard, much less making a phone call?? That must be for those “activiists.

-YOU have been active before - attended meetings, worked at the polls, but your life is busy and you cannot even spare an hour because of your obligations.

- YOU are angry about the party.  You really don’t see that we all are angry at the party,  but you are who you are and someone has to come forth to change your mind, but your know you are right.  You cannot spare an hour to change things becasuse they are all out for themselves, and there is no difference between the parties.

-YOU are tired..  You have attended events, made calls, organized votersante, and you are tired.  Time for others to do their work.

- YOU  cannot be active because they will come after you. 

- YOU are afraid you might get fired as a result. 

Who are you going to be six months from now if you don’t spend an hour today influencing your future government??  You are going to listen to the same news/TV /radio and read the same blogs.  You are the one that will determine what you listen today. 

Call your local county GOP party.  They need YOU!!!

Did anyone care when auto dealerships were closed for no reason….  nope.

This is why we are losing…

The majority of us would rather “blog and email” than spend the money and risk putting our face on camera…. 

You know what, I am just as frightened, until I atteneded 9/12.   I am experienced a wonderful, fabulous, god-loving, assembly of people.  Polite, patient, caring for each other and their government.

When they closed auto dealerships we should have “put up a fight”.   Most of us were in shock and could not believe it happened, but it was a defining point.   They took over “contracts and propery rights  These poor busineessowners had to “rights”, and we let the government get away with it.  And these independent businessowners that employed hundreds and hundreds of people had no say. 

We are at fault for that.

We should have stopped it right there.

Most of you will think I have a friend  or family member in the auto business.  I do not.  My family members are farmers….

But I know we gave up so many rights when we gave the government the right to negate private contracts, it is frightening.  We rolled over, and did not react.  It will cost us in a very big way.

It is time for us to bring our ideas to the table.    From what I see the Republicans are clearly “out of touch” from the “real world”.  Please explain how they are going to “meld” state by state coverage requirements with the insurace company rating abitlity.  It is nuts.

The only way to make this work is the “same old insurance risk” factor.  You cannot  ask anyone, even government, to insure an unknown. 

Hospitals, Drs., and insurance companies have been asked to do this for years.   For every woman giving birth, ten uninsured women are giving birth….where do you think the expense for the other ten women is paid for??

It was in the early 90′s I quit selling individual health insurance.  There was such an obvious change in the way clients looked at the risk they were taking not having insurance.  They knew that they would be covered if they went to the emergency room. In their minds they did not have to pay for “the risk”.  It is such a shame.  As a result, we have employees that are “new hires” that have insurance, but they still utilize the emergency room as their primary care physician.

This is where Republicans have to understand we are dealing with individuals that are unable to deal with the issues of primary care in our society.  They have not been taught any other way.  We must make this simple and safe for them….  

I believe we can do this….but we must focus on our strengths, not their weaknesses.
