If the US had say approval voting in federal elections, then third, fourth, etc parties would be a lot more viable. but as it is, the way our voting system is set up, third parties only hurt their own cause.

Basically, these “roll your own” cigarette stores are taking advantage of a loophole in tax laws to sell cartons of 200 cigarettes without charging collecting the same tax that is collected on a carton of 200 Marlboros. They get away with this by lying and calling the tobacco “pipe tobacco”, even though the tobacco is sold rolled into 200 cigarettes.

Now, we can argue about the merits of taxing the beejeezus out of cigarettes, but it doesn’t seem that outrageous to close the loophole and tax all cartons of 200 cigarettes the same.

A more interesting question: why isn’t nicotine sold to nicotine junkies in gum and patches by Pharma taxed like nicotine sold in cigarettes by tobacco? A drug is a drug. A junkie is a junkie.

Please continue doing what you are doing since when some of us (without the star power or the big voice!) point the same things, RINOs & status quo republicans pounce on us!

what is the point of electing a republican when there is no significant difference between the two parties! On top it, we are not supposed to point it out because the other side is worse! Lot of people try to muzzle this kind of honesty even in this forum!

Thank you again for doing the right thing & it is time to put a united front against the RINO GOP leadership & make some drastic changes within the GOP party.
