Open letter to a Democrat

This dude is a really nice guy, known him since Jr. High, raised in the same area of the country, but then he moved to Taxachussetts. I don’t know what happened.

I sent out an email on the UK story on taking pain medication from back pain patients  and this is what I received as a reply:

There will always be exception to any story that will be used as propaganda.  I am sympathetic for anyone that has to endure pain or discomfort, but these cases are singled out and used to make political points…simply wrong.  I’m pleased that this administration is taking productive steps to do something.  The standard play book of the last admin was to roadblock anything constructive.  Low cost drug from Canada and the Caribbean are still illegal.    Now that there is a momentum building, the Rush’s and Coulters of the world will do anything to block it (for political reasons I might add).

I know all too well some of the weaknesses in the health care system and don’t need to rely on propaganda.  Our family has faced a brain tumor, cancer on numerous fronts and other challenges that make affordable health care challenging.  It is about time that someone is finally stepping up to the plate and advocating for John Q. Public.  Bush had eight year to pull it off.

So much like the Whitehouse, if you don’t agree with me, you are spreading propaganda..

Trying to set the record straight without totally alienating this fellow I replied with the following:

Last months “propaganda” from the UK times was sending breast cancer patients home with pain pills because there is no room in any health facility in Britain to treat them.
These are not one time happenings, this is an ongoing day to day type happening in the countries with single payer (read government ) health care.
Obama himself said of an older lady, in a press conference, that should been given a pain pill instead of a pacemaker. i.e. go home and die.

I have listened to a British Doctor firsthand describe the British system. When the money is gone, he has to tell you there is nothing he can do. By law he cannot tell you if you flew to the US you could get dialysis or other treatment and live.

That is a government single payer system. For the pundits who say we aren’t heading to single payer , don’t take my word for it.

  • Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) at a Health Care for America Now rally: “And next to me was a guy from the insurance company who argued against the public health insurance option, saying it wouldn’t let private insurance compete. That a public option will put the private insurance industry out of business and lead to single-payer. My single-payer friends, he was right. The man was right.”
  • Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) told Single Payer Action: “I think that if we get a good public option it could lead to single-payer and that is the best way to reach single-payer. Saying you’ll do nothing till you get single-payer is a sure way never to get it. … I think the best way we’re going to get single-payer, the only way, is to have a public option and demonstrate the strength of its power.”
  • Washington Post blogger Ezra Klein at the Democratic National Convention last year: “They have a sneaky strategy, the point of which is to put in place something that over time the natural incentives within its own market will move it to single-payer.”
  • Noble Prize winning New York Times columnist Paul Krugman: “[T]he only reason not to do [single-payer] is that politically it’s hard to do in one step…You’d have to convince people completely give up the insurance they have, whereas something that lets people keep the insurance they have but then offers the option of a public plan, that may evolve into single-payer.”

>Credit and whole article: http://blog.heritage.org/2009/08/05/morning-bell-the-people-spreading-disinformation-about-obamacare

There is 2007 press conference where Obama himself promotes going to single payer.

Or read the house bill  on page 16 it describes how the private insurance will be forced out and you will be   forced onto Obama care.

Read page 42 if you have any doubts about rationing.

Read page 59 Why does Washington need direct debit access to our bank accounts and all banking transactions in order to provide health care?

Page 72 tells how all private plans must conform to the public plan or be taxed.

Frankly I can back up everything I have ever wrote you or anyone else about this bill or any other bill I ever wrote about.
I do my homework before I send out emails, not after.
If I make a mistake, I own up to that too.

The only propaganda I see is in the liberal rags like the NY Times and the lapdog press like Chrissy Mathews.or….

The President made several statements at his health care pep rallies this week that are directly contrary to the wording in the bill..?? That is propaganda.

Be careful, don’t even take my word for it if you like, do your own homework, everyone should, you might be surprised.

BTW, unions and the trial lawyers were Obama’s 2 biggest contributors. Bear that in mind when watching his actions.

This is not your father’s Democratic party. The mainstream may be , but the leadership is way to the left of Lenin. A lot of Democrats are realizing that and want their party back. Maybe you can help them regain control.

Not trying to be mean, but mainstream Dems in this country need to wake up and take their party back from the Saul Alinsky crowd.

I don’t want to watch family members suffer because a bunch that couldn’t run cash for clunkers want to redesign health care and bankrupt it, just as Medicare and Medicaid are currently in the red.

Go read up on Dr. Ezekiel Manuel’s writings, if you doubt old people will be told just go home and die. This is Rahm’s brother and author of a good bit of the health care bill. He promotes the idea in things he has written.
Better yet, get Tom Daschle’s book.

Of course congress will have their own health care plan separate from yours.
There’s some scary stuff in this bill, and I don’t think congressional bills can be called “propaganda”, or can they?

I suppose I will be in the flag@ inbox by lunchtime.

Oh well all my taxes are in order. there is only a certain amount of harassment the Obites can do.

Regards

Obama to throw in the towel in Iraq?

A gentleman I spoke with today was just back from Iraq. I was rather disturbed as he  described the current handling of prisoners.

Bring them to your base, confine them, can’t touch them or coerce them. If they want to tell you something, it’s OK.

After two weeks you must release them with any intel on your base they have gathered while there.

It’s common knowledge, so the bad guys have nothing to fear if they can get captured. They just wait it out, clean bed and square meals for two weeks and then off on their merry way.

The guys on the ground, at least that this one was around, see it as the beginning of throwing in the towel.

The bad guys, (can’t call them combatants now can I?)  just laugh at the Americans and walk back to their unit.

Oh, Fearless Leader is really sharp.

Montana Fires a Warning Shot

The AP is reporting that the State of Montana is preparing to take on the Federal Government over states rights.

For Full Story and Credits

“In a bill passed by the Legislature earlier this month, the state is asserting that guns manufactured in Montana and sold in Montana to people who intend to keep their weapons in Montana are exempt from federal gun registration, background check and dealer-licensing rules because no state lines are crossed.”

and

“It’s a gun bill, but it’s another way of demonstrating the sovereignty of the state of Montana,” said Democratic Gov. Brian Schweitzer, who signed the bill.

Note the article quoted Democratic Governor Schweitzer, obviously not cut from the same cloth as the Obama wing of the party. My personal tendency was to think the “new Socialist Democrats” had replaced pretty much all the Blue dogs. It appears that I must re-evaluate my position.

The federal government has twisted the Commerce Clause to regulate practically anything you can name, so it will be interesting to follow this through the courts.

A candidate to notify the BATF of his intentions to manufacture rifles in Montana for Montana citizens is being sought.
Upon the expected receipt of BATF’s notice that he can’t do that, the court battle will begin. Manufacture of the rifles will not be necessary to start the court battle.

Supporters state that the Made in Montana stamp on the product makes it different from the 2005 California Federal marijuana case, since California marijuana looks pretty much like Oregon marijuana and so forth. The look alike argument seems pretty silly since all firearms manufactured in the last 40+ years will have a serial number.

The author of the bill sums it up best:

“Firearms are inextricably linked to the history and culture of Montana, and I’d like to support that,” said Montana state Rep. Joel Boniek, the bill’s sponsor. “But I want to point out that the issue here is not about firearms. It’s about state rights.”

In an age of the massive Federal power grab, this will be an interesting story to follow….

S 22 Cloture vote, just a hint of the future.

RINOS, (Traitors), whatever you would like to call them on the S 22 Sunday Cloture vote are listed below. There were a few brave souls that showed up to voice their opposition (12) with some good comments by Tom Coburn and Jim Demint and a couple of others. I should have been at church praying for the country instead of watching these proceedings, but don’t judge me, please.

The folks who stayed home (not voting), of course counted against releasing the bill.

I realize the Senators had just come from a Republican session where they were told to keep their head down, don’t make waves, and don’t get the NE corridor folks thrown out of office by making controversy, but seriously, this many liberals in the Republican party?

And we are constantly told that the party is too exclusive.

You could not build a tent this big with last years total production of canvas.

BE SURE and contact these RINOS and send some love their way. If you sit quietly, guess what.

They already think they are smarter than you dumb conservatives and must show you the enlightened way.

There is very little difference between these folks and the socialists across the aisle. Make yourself hard to ignore. You never know:

McCain will come out on top

I'll stick my neck out and make a prediction

I believe McCain will finish on top with a comfortable lead, despite all the fabricated votes the great one has fabricated with his 800,000 dollars of Acorn money.

The bulk of the polls I have seen typically oversample Demoncrats as much as double digits, but still only come up with single digit leads.

The projections are also based on inflated Demoncrat registrations, (Op Chaos), leading to further inflated numbers.

I’ll stick my neck out and say unless the Demoncrats literally steal the election, McCain/Palin will be leading this country in January.

At that point we can start beating the drum to try to get McCain to be more conservative, but if he didn’t win, we would have much bigger problems than Mac and the global warming hoax.

Which constitution is the Demoncratic party modeling?

The right to housing is in the Constitution

I have been listening to Obama’s ideas to dismantle the constitution.
A trip over to the DNC site to look at the platform again confirmed my suspicions.
Where do all these “rights” the Dems keep referring to come from?

Rights such as the “Right to housing”

“Right” you say? Yes , indeed. I found it in the Constitution!
The communist constitution.
Ch7, Article 44.

Hmmm… OK. How about a “Right” to an education. Hear a lot about that one.
Yep, there is in the Constitution.
The communist constitution.
Ch7 Article 45.

Right to healthcare?

Did Obama try to save us or..

Did he propose this bill before or after he bought his house

Obama keeps getting a lot of mileage out of a bill that he, Durban and Menedez submitted back in February of 2006.

The bill, S. 2280 appears to set up multimillion dollar penalties for “Mortgage professionals” who seek to execute a “scheme or artifice”

The bill:
`(a) In General- It shall be unlawful for any mortgage
professional to knowingly
execute, or attempt to execute, a scheme or artifice–

        `(1) to defraud any natural

person or financial institution in connection
with the offer or extension of consumer credit (as such term is defined in subsections
(e) and (h) under section 103 of the Truth in Lending Act (15 U.S.C. 1602(e) and (h))),
which credit is, or is to be, secured by an interest–

              `(A) in real property; or

              `(B) in personal property used

or expected to be used as the principal
dwelling (as such term is defined under section 103(v) of the Truth in Lending Act (15
U.S.C. 1602(v))) of the natural person
to whom such consumer credit is offered or
extended; or

`(2) to obtain, by means of false or

fraudulent pretenses, representations,
or promises, any money or property, including without limitation in the form of fees or
charges, from a natural person in connection with an extension of consumer credit secured
by an interest–

              `(A) in real property; or

`(B) in personal property used or expected to

be used as the principal
dwelling of such natural person;

Read twice and submitted to the Banking, Housing and Urban Committee.

It’s Hoover’s fault! (er,uh, I mean Bush)

History repeats itself, and the Dems are still the cause.

The Demoncrats haven’t changed tactics in 75 years. So why does the Public keep falling for it?

Warning! This is long, but full of parallels with todays situation.

It describes the sabotage of the economy by the Dems in the 30s.

Recall that the the world had a depression in the 20-30s, but in the US it was turned into a “Great Depression”, never really recovering until WW II.

You may not be able to find this in Wikipedia. But listen to the words of a very significant eye witness with a front row seat.

The Honorable
Simeon D. Fess
United States Senate

My Dear Mr. Senator:

I am glad to respond to your request that I put in writing for your records, the statement I made to you yesterday as to the economic situation at the moment, and the causes thereof.

Today we are on the verge of financial panic and chaos. Fear for the policies of the new administration has gripped the country. People do not await events, they act. Hoarding of currency, and of gold, has risen to a point never before known; banks are suspending not only in isolated instances, but in one case an entire state. Prices have fallen since last autumn below the levels which debtors and creditors can meet. Men over large areas are unable or are refusing to pay their debts. Hundreds of millions of orders placed before election have been cancelled. Unemployment is increasing, there are evidences of the flight of capital from the United States to foreign countries, men have abandoned all sense of new enterprise and are striving to put their affairs in defense against disaster.

Some days before election the whole economic machine began to hesitate from the upward movement of last summer and fall. For some time after election it continued to hesitate but hoped for the best. As time has gone on, however, every development has stirred the fear and apprehenshion of the people. They have begun to realize what the abandonment of a successful program of this administration which was bringing rapid recovery last summer and fall now means and they are alarmed at possible new deal policies indicated by the current events. It is this fear that now dominates the national situation. It is not lack of resources, currency, or or dit.

The incidents which have produced this fear are clear. There was a delay by the President-elect of over two months in willingness to cooperate with us to bring about order from confusion in our [illegible] economic relations. There have been a multitude of speeches, bills, and statements of democratic members of Congress and others proposing inflation or tinkering with the currency. My proposals for reduction of expenditures have been ignored to the extent of over $200,000,000 by the Democratic House of Representatives. The differences between Democratic leaders and the President-elect over the basis of taxation with which to balance the budget caused them to reject the balancing of the budget. The publication by Democratic leaders of the House of the Reconstruction Corporation loans has caused runs on hundreds of banks, failures of many of them, and hoarding on a wide scale. There have been proposed in Congress by Democratic leaders and publicly even by the President-elect, projects involving federal expenditure of tremendous dimensions which would obviously lie beyond the capacity of the federal government to borrow without tremendous depreciation in government securities. Such proposals as the bills to assume Federal responsibility for billions of mortgage loans to municipalities for public works, the Tennessee improvement and Muscle Shoals, are all of this order. The proposals of Speaker Garner that constitutional government should be abandoned because the Congress, in which there will be an overwhelming majority, is unable to face reduction of expenses, has started a chatter of dictatorship. The President-elect has done nothing publicly to disavow any of these proposals.

I get a thrill ,every time the media squeals, “she’s not qualified”

If Sara Palin was as bad a candidate as they claim...

If Sara Palin was as bad a candidate as they claim, the the LibMedia would just ignore her.
Instead, they tear her down.

Stephanoupolos, this very morning took time to tell us that why McCain can’t elected with Palin on the ticket. She is a “drag” on the ticket.

This former Clinton lackey is just one example of hundreds in the LibMedia that have zeroed in Palin.

I love it.

Newt does bailout

Paulson has got to go

Listening to Newt describe his take on the bailout.

My apologies to Newt if I misinterpet his words.
Newt is a straight shooter, so there is no doubletalk to wade through.

Paulson, who as you all know by now, proposed giving himself carte-blanche over 700 Billion dollars with out administration, congressional or court oversight.

McCaining Sara…

Will McCain flog Palin into a clone??

I was watching the news emphasize a story that Sara Palin’s popularity has dropped in the polls.

Also mentioned was her performance responding to questions from reporters.

This, of course, prompted some thought about the causes of this drop.

The possible reason that causes me the most concern is “McCain”izing Palin.

Congresswoman Bachman on Fox

If our people prepared half as well as the Demoncrats...

I watched Bachman sit back and be called a liar by Demoncrat Rep. Crowley on Fox news tonight and the best she could muster was, “that’s not true” or some silly response.

Crowley was pitching fastballs, (albeit fictional fastballs) and Bachman had no idea that she could say:

The conservative movement of Goldwater is dead

Ignorance is bliss... until you are under Stalin's boot

Voter Turnout wrote that “the conservative movement of Goldwater is dead,” a popular chant on LibMedia.

Why shouldn’t he believe it. If he turns on any of the little 4 networks or picks up a newspaper, he gets beat over the head with this mantra day and night by commentators who “get a tingle up their leg,” thinking about Socialist candidates.

Christian bashing.. again

Clinging to their guns and religion..

When AP Media hitman Eric Gorki took on the task to impugn the religion of Sarah Palin, he accomplished what these media hacks usually accomplish when they delve into areas that they are obviously unfamiliar with. They irritate the informed and sway the ignorant.

Sadly their main effectiveness is with other people who are unfamiliar with the topic chosen, Christianity.

Changing a Liberal’s mind without losing yours…

Can this Liberal be saved?

I had the opportunity to teach in a public school on Friday and lunch with a team of teachers.

This lunch was very revealing about the politics of the crowd.
Being a rural school, the mix was about five conservatives and two Demoncrats.
The loudest proponent of any position was a staunch GOP man. His delivery,
unfortunately, was very loud and abrasive, doing nothing to sway the Democrat that he was having the exchange with.
