September 10th, 11th and 12th Patriots are being asked to gather in Washington to demonstrate we are still a nation of the people , by the people and for the people. I sincerely hope that many here attend and spread the word or even bring a friend along. Numbers MATTER! This IS OUR COUNTRY. Lets give em a crowd SO LARGE they(The Governing Class in DC) never forget IT!

Our social contract ,The Constitution, is clear in absolute restraint of the Federal Governments authority. There are specific powers enumerated to Congress and the Executive. Everything else is retained by the States and the Citizens of the States.

The 9th and 10th Amendments to the Constitution are the “Forgotten Men” if you will. They are completely absent in our political discourse. These two amendments are the Firewall against and an Activist Federal government. Since the middle of the 19th Century assaults on these two Bulwarks of Liberty have been steadily and progressively more expansive. The end result is “We the People” are never more than an electoral college vote away from tyranny.

Decentralized power* IS* the key. If Congress and the Executive had only their Constitutionally mandated powers to play with Obama would be a charismatic and relatively powerless President with odd opinions and very little authority to
impose them.

When scoping out the next generation of leaders I would humbly suggest searching out those who wish NOT so much to halt the expansion of the Federal Government but roll it back. Send tax dollars back to the States not in the form of block grants but through the elimination of Executive Branch Departments like the Dept. of Education, the Dept. of Transportation etc. With their dissolution their regulatory authority would also be returned to the states where the Citizens have more direct influence over their elected representatives.

It’s just an idea albeit not mine. It was Madisons, Hamiltons, Jeffersons etc…when they wrote and ratified the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Presidential debates about energy policy though quite stimulating miss the point entirely. If people in western Pennsylvania want to fire their boilers with coal, Great! Let them be free to. Let Governor Rendell and the Pennsylvania legislature regulate them. It has no bearing on my life here in MA. If people in Alabama want to put up a plaque listing the 10 commandments on the edifice of EVERY courthouse in the State, excellent. It* is* their right to. It has no bearing on my life here in MA, although I would be more apt to consider living there if they did.

Let us find that person who will return America to her Constitution and let “We The People” get back to self Governance.

The much vaunted Obama GOTV succeeded in producing approximately 7 million more votes in 2008 than Kerry received in 2004.
Contrast this with Bush in 2000 and 2004. Between these two elections 12 million new Republican voters were added.In fact 11 million more people voted Republican in 2000 than 1996. So from 96′ – 04′ Republican vote totals increased from 39.2 million to 62 million.
In 2008 McCain captured 57 million votes. Why the decrease from Bush’s 2004 tally of 62 million?
The answer is McCAIN. John McCain NEVER had a consistant message.John McCain didn’t and could not articulate a coherent message on the economy.John McCain had to be educated by an Ohio plumber as to the political origins of Obama’s Tax plan. McCain then hammers Obama for 2+ weeks on “Socialism”. The problem with this however was two weeks previous McCain voted for a $700 Billion dollar bailout of the banks which entails partial ownership of participating banks by the Federal Government. In a word SOCIALISM.
When the Republican Party nominates REAL Conservatives WE WIN.
Fair weather Conservatives, Moderate Consevatives, Maverick Conservatives or I’ll tack to the right during the Primaries Conservatives LOSE National Elections.
To blame the loss on Palin is absolute and complete idiocy. Palin can and does articulate a coherent CONSERVATIVE message on the economy. Palin CONSISTANTLY drew larger crowds than McCain. Ultimately and unfortunately for John McCain people vote for or against the TOP of the Ticket. Palin DID NOT cause 20% of Conservatives to vote for Barack Obama. John McCain did that all on his own. That friends is the reason why McCain lost this election. 1 out of every 5 Consevatives voted for the Democrat. If McCain gets those 6 million votes he wins. McCain is the past. Palin is a Conservative and The FUTURE!
