As we sit back and see our worst fears: President Elect Barack Obama, we all wonder how we got here. I have to say, in admiration too, that the Obama campaign ran a sharply run, very grassroots organized campaign. The winning campaign also changed the playing field in may ways that I will explain.

When Bill Clinton burst onto the scene, he changed the way Television was used in a campaign. Gone were the days of the campaign where someone could get by not having the soundbite or chrisma. Clinton killed that in 1992.
