Okay, you all have had your say, now I am going to have mine. In a Republic with a democratic government, it is the majority consent of the governed that has the last say, not the government that the majority has elected to govern and with 32 states with a total ban on the recognition of same sex marriage and another 12 with only recognition of civil unions, and yet another four voting on the issue this coming November's election because of the socialist act of usurping authority over the majority without consent, it doesn't take a "rocket scientist" to know the majority has spoken the matter, and for the record, the fourteenth amendment, equal protection under the law, was implemented to restrict embridgement and infringement of local government and government officials, and therefore the fourteenth amendment would certainly include protecting our most basic U.S. constituitonal right to self govern through Constitutional Convention, the people's referandum, to make changes to state level constitutions and the U.S. constitution, such as the repeal of prohibition, without the consent of the Federal court of appeals and the U.S. Government, and when the most basic right is infringed upon, the democratic government becomes, Socialism. Quite frankly, I'm shocked so many people in this country support Barack Obama's liberal ideology of Socialism and the liberal judicial activism he uses to over reach his "delegated" authority.

and contains no citations to back up your assertions.

You don't need to post pictures of you and your brothers weeding the garden, but you should provide some indication of your degree in psychology and extensive work as an expert witness in the various gay marriage lawsuits.

I'd also like to know what you're referencing to determine "societal disapproval" ... most of the polling I've seen shows that society is becoming more accepting of the idea that there are some legal rights that are granted based on sexual orientation, and that maybe we should change that.

I do agree with you that the correct place to determine whether homosexuality is accepted or not is in the culture, I'd prefer that the government stay out of it... on both sides!
