MEMBER DIARY

My note to John McCain.

Dear Senator McCain:

I’m contacting you to let you know how very disappointed I am that you have not come forward to stop the vicious smears against Sarah Palin coming from within the ranks of your campaign. One is conditioned to expect vile behavior on the part of the radical left but it is shocking and unacceptable when it comes from within our own party.

I have heard much about your code of honor. However, sir, I maintain that to stand by in silence while campaign staffers speak out against Governor Palin in this manner is dishonorable in the extreme. Governor Palin answered your call when your campaign was flagging. It is my feeling that no other choice of running mate could have solidified and electrifed the base as she did. This is poor payment for her aid to your campaign and the abuse that she and her family suffered at the hands of the media on your behalf.

While I admire and respect your past service to our country, I can say with confidence that had I known in advance that you would allow this treatment to continue without comment, I would not have cast my ballot in your favor.

Sincerely,

Senator McCain may well say the same thing he said during the campaign when she was maligned by the other side: “She can take care of herself” and he meant it in a good way.

My take: if she cannot figure out how to deflect and prosper from this kind of crap, she cannot win in 2012.

if his own people had come out trashing Barack Obama, McCain would have had a microphone in front of his face to denounce them so fast it would have made your head spin.

They must be popping arteries knowing that if Palin is the nominee, they won’t be working on her campaign. So if they eliminate her early…Yes! They get all the good jobs!

    Can’t. Let. That. Happen.

I think she can take it. But it’s not doing the Republican brand any good. It alienates women that see it as sexism. It hands the libs another cudgel to beat her and us with. It’s just bad for the party and I do believe does not reflect well on his code of honor.

For crying out loud, he was more considerate of his opponent during the campaign!

    1. wennejunk is right.
    2. They don’t call us the “Stupid Party” for nothing.

…that the most supportive people in public to Gov Palin in the whole election were Lou Dobbs and Geraldine Ferraro. Figure the odds.

Yes, she needs to be able to take care of herself (and she can). But McCain should do right by the party and do what he can to bring some sense of peace so we can move forward.

But that’s alright, this let’s us know who the lepers are. Have fun ever getting a campaign job again…clowns, because I’m sure any Republican who hires ANY of you will be besieged by protests for having hired a quisling.
