Support Governor Sarah Palin

Yet another petition

I’ve started a petition to be sent to the Republican governors, asking them to please stand together to help lead this country forward. The text of the petition:

We the undersigned protest those unnamed governors who anonymously criticized Governor Sarah Palin while speaking to the press after the Republican Governors Association press conference.

Criticizing Governor Palin in this manner reflects poorly on all Republicans and threatens to cripple the party as we undertake to move forward after the 2008 election. Anyone choosing to criticize another anonymously marks him or herself as both cowardly and petty, as well as more interested in self-aggrandizement than in advancing the Republican platform and conservative principles. Furthermore, it calls into question their fitness to serve in higher office should they choose to seek it.

Thank you for your time. We respectfully call on you to stand together in unity and mutual support as it falls upon you to lead the nation in advancing the ideals of the Republican party and conservatism.

I think that the republican governors are disappointed in the selection of Gov Palin for Vice-President by Sen Mccain. There is a subtle feeling that she lacks substance both in understanding of current affairs and personally. I also think there is a lot of envy over her reception by other republicans. Remember this is a party that always nominates its frontrunners for the both national offices while democrats will nominate the last guy in the door (Obama 2008) and almost Howard Dean (2004). I think the governors will choose one or two candiates to support in 2012 primaries and it probably will not be Gov Palin or Gov Jindal. My guess from what I have seen I think the governors will support Gov Pawlenty, Gov Sanford or Gov Crist. Having said this I do not think Barak Obama will lose a lot of sleep over these candidates. I do think the democrats (DNC, MSNBC, CNN, PBS, network news, major newspapers) will spend more time trying to stop Gov Palin not for 2012 but for 2016.
