Please, Mr. Steele, RESIGN

This morning The Politico contributor Jeanne Cummings has an article about GOP head Michael Steele that is eye-opening and I believe a revealing portrait of precisely what a RINO is. IF there is one thing that any red-blooded conservative must portray it is fiscal responsibility. How the GOP elites respond to this, and equally important who, will also unveil to every conservative minded independent that there is no difference between the DNC and GOP in regards to understanding what Americans are looking for in leadership.

The only way America is going to regain its exceptionalism is to have a leader that is strong yet reluctant to serve. Someone who represents the average American because they are an average American. The GOP needs to get rid of Mr. Steele and begin a grassroots search for his replacement. I far more trust Human Resource Management software to pick a leader than the blue-blood elitists that now permeate the GOP. What say you? Are you conservatives ready to REALLY take over the GOP and govern this land via principles instead of ideology?

Tertiary Educational Indoctrination

The Financial Aid Department where I am studying for a PhD in I/O Psychology sent out an email proclaiming the US Constitution a “living document”? The next section gives a blurb about Sen. Byrd’s legislative efforts through federal mandates to improve student’s knowledge of the US Constitution (USC). And a link to a website that skirts the issue of original intent. While I agree there is need for all citizens to understand the USC, I find this kind of government intrusion in my education a little irritating, especially when the institution carrying it out makes an obviously contentious statement to a vast portion of US citizens.

There are two views of legal guidance the USC gives its citizenry, one that the USC is a “living breathing document” while the other states that it is a stationary guiding document to be interpreted from its original intent, as the framers intended. Changes should only be made with the utmost care and debate. A lesson we learned the hard way with the Twenty-First Amendment. A better argument for original interpretation than I could possibly articulate is here.

My concerns about this email are more in relation to the influence the government already has in US education and the recent Title IV acknowledgment sought and received by my educational institution. I see this email from Financial Aid as an effort by one particular wing of government to steer debate towards their point of view, and as usual without alternate viewpoints. They have concluded the “living document” perspective is correct because it gives them broad power to change Constitutional rights, like exercising religious beliefs, through litigation as opposed to legislative processes that are more exposed to criticism and debate. Honestly, I am offended by this email and its overt attempt to declare debate closed by its definitive statement: “The Constitution is a living document.” It is nearly as offensive as my son’s Science book saying that “evolution is a now a proven fact”.
Higher education used to be about freedom of thought and exploring possibilities but now I fear it is more about controlling issues through such mechanisms as national accreditation and Title IV. To be fair to my institution, this email was probably just cut and pasted from some US Department of Education memorandum. Higher education however should NOT be a mouthpiece for any political side but an open and uncontrolled pursuit of truth. They erred by not including an alternative view of a presently very contentious issue.

Erik’s post this morning has encouraged me to post this experience here as well. I truly fear that education, like so many other freedoms in the US are becoming more and more controlled by government where honest debate of issues will be controlled. Control will not so much come through draconian measures of restraint but through more subtle ways of manipulating debate, declarative statements, and policies such as that mentioned by Erik. When concerned citizens bring our fears to the fore we are labeled Nazis, racists, or ignorant hicks. The same reticence that comes with being labeled as above will eventually creep into academic debate and free expression of ideas and research will then be restricted to the framework of an all powerful Dept. of Education. America is no longer on the plateau before the proverbial slippery slope, we are now on that slope.

Republicans and the Idiot American

One last comment, perhaps, on Palin as I hop through African airports.

I completely understand why Palin left politics (that is what I believe she has done) because I certainly would not want my family trashed the way hers has been. That said I think some here miss the point on why Palin was supported as a candidate. Conservatives, unlike many on the Left and RINOs on the so-called right, do not support personalities, we support national foundational principles and ideas that spring from them. Palin, while a questionable politician in the eyes of many (of course in reality no more so than Mr. Obama), represented a huge part of America that identifies itself with conservative ideals.

IMHO, I believe that why the extreme left and the media loathed Palin was not about a personal agenda against her family but a fear over what she represented. IF (and that is a big question right now) someone else comes forth as a viable conservative candidate they will be attacked with the same vitriol and ferocity as Palin. This tactic of personal assassination, more than a true understanding of what conservatism is at its core and being able to defeat it based purely on ideological argumentation, is what creates the biggest conundrum for conservative politicians. Conservatives, by nature, are family people who prefer to work diligently towards the laudable goals of the Constitution instead of schmoozing the media or deflecting its fiery darts. The left cannot offer a meaningful debate over issues so they with their media compatriots enter into a frenzy of personality debasement to obfuscate their own ideological weaknesses. Yet, what is even more distasteful are RINOs, dressed in a cloak of conservatism as the Rightful opposition, who joined in the media frenzy. Now, I am truly skeptical of anything Republican!

America needs to wake up before our country and its founding principles are digitized into oblivion by a media that is shaping our individual perceptions through nothing more than innuendo and supposition. If we cannot see it happening from our own party then how can we fight it when it happens from the Left? Our citizenry has, over many decades, lost the ability to take the foundational concepts of freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and solidify them into a unified national agenda. Instead we allow the media punditry to form our opinions instead of the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, etc. I think it is safe to say that the Republicans can now be classified as part of “idiot America, one nation controlled by the media”.

If we, as a nation, cannot vociferously decry the injustices done to the Palin family by a marauding media that only cared about “a story” not the story, then certainly we will not see the larger more serious injustices in places like Dafur and Myanmar. If we do not rediscover our founding principles, that which made us the most blessed and prosperous nation this planet has ever seen, then not only will we lose our heritage but our ability to influence the world towards something better. IMHO, there should not be Left, Conservative, or Right, only Americans. Each person striving towards the ideals that our forefathers so eloquently, yet firmly, set before their progeny and its decedents for the benefit of a nation and the world is what created this beautiful nation. One can still dream!?

I will continue my search for such persons as these and congregate with them to build something that is based upon more than the prevailing air of our times or shallow conjectures of egotistical journalists. We should all join hands in our places of worship today and pray for a Mosaic leader to lead our country back to its first principles.

Obama’s Slavery Economics

Background:

From CJP on http://conservativesarecommunistss.blogspot.com/: “Conservatives don’t want Socialism. Liberals don’t want a Financial Oligarchy. Conservatives are afraid of concentrating too much power in the hands of the government. Liberals are equally afraid of a vast concentration of wealth and power in the hands of a few people — a Financial Oligarchy.”

I came across a blog from some nut that actually believes that conservatives are communists and terrorists! Still, his article did make me think about how Americans are being enslaved by a black president. Let me explain.

Firstly, conservatives are not afraid of anything but are nonetheless highly concerned about ANY power the government has over individual freedom. I’ve lived on a continent that has suffered from the malaise of economic dependency for over 50 years and can confidently say that the US is heading down that path, on an individual level now but eventually on a national level. African countries have survived on handouts from so-called developed nations for nearly six decades and have become so dependent on the aid that they have virtually no control over their own economies much less countries. It is so bad in Zimbabwe that one has to wonder what the people are waiting for to get rid of their dictator. Actually, it is quite simple; Zimbabweans are waiting on the West to do it for them. But, I digress here.

Social entitlements have made a vast portion of our citizenry dependent on the government for their daily bread. So much so that liberals use this dependency to their advantage to maintain power through the enslavement of the recipients. Mr. CJP above is concerned about a Financial Oligarchy. I would much prefer something I can control through economics as opposed to something I cannot, e.g. the out of control liberal government. Mr. O’s economic policies being forced on the American electorate are nothing short of enslavement of Americans and, in my mind, a violation of the Thirteenth Amendment. Amendment XIII: “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to its jurisdiction.” The key words there are“involuntary servitude”.

Mr. O’s concept of economics functions under a similar “trickle-down” effect to that of Reagan’s except the money trickles down from the government AFTER it has confiscated it from hard working individuals. “Reaganomics”, which is really just Ricardian Economics, trusted in the masses to work hard toward their individual desires and achievements. In that achievement, Reagan said people could keep a reasonable amount of their wealth to spur them on to invest in their country, while the government “wisely” spent their taxes on defense and perhaps large research endeavors, not creating methods of entrenching the Republican powerbase. Mr. O’s economics has nothing to do with fairness but everything to do with a redistribution of wealth creating slavery’s chain.

The sad reality is that most people are naturally lazy (myself included sometimes) and whenever big brother government will do something for them, they are all for it. Liberals know this and capitalize on this phenomenon by concentrating their power in confiscated money with the government and redistributing it to people not only “buying” their vote but also enslaving people to be dependent on the government. The enslavement happens when people become so dependent on the government they are forced to vote for liberals so their way of life (if you could call it that) can continue. Those who pay onerous and confiscatory taxes to support the government’s dependents are also forced into submission through the concentrated power of government.

Conservatives, which by the way are not currently synonymous to Republicans, believe in letting people strive on their own, through hard work, with as little help from big brother government as possible, to achieve the maximum possible. Those who are exceptionally endowed from their Creator will naturally excel and accumulate wealth. But the caveat here is that their wealth comes from voluntary consumers that make cognitive choices based upon things like quality, price, value, and yes even morality and ethics. I don’t have to buy a PC loaded with Windows, I can buy a MAC or better yet build my own machine and put Linux on it. Sure, Gates may be an oligarch (a liberal oligarch BTW) but he is so because of the factors above not because he forced me, through legislation and usurped power, to buy his product.

The government, through usurped power with onerous taxes and restrictive policies and laws, is enslaving me to them. My labor produced wealth over 250k/yr (yea right) is being forcibly taken away to support Democrat’s power entrenching polices. They (RINOs included) are forcing me to take government health care, survive on unemployment then welfare, and soon to buy a car I don’t want to put my family in because it isn’t safe. My freedom to choose, my earnings, my way of life is being taken away from me and distributed to the lazy masses. (If you don’ think 30 million people to be a “mass” then perhaps you better go back to school!)

My questions to Liberals are; why do you have so little belief in yourselves and so much in a government that is hell bent on enslaving you? Are you now so enslaved by government’s policies that you cannot fathom voting for someone who wants only to empower you to achieve? To Mr. CJP, I offer to you that it is rather the enslaved liberal that is scared of having to make the difficult choice of freedom.

Better Follow George, he knows where the money is

Background:

O.K., here one more chance for someone to call me a conspiracy nut.

In the recent Wall Street Journal’s Future of Finance conference, which considering what the Dems are doing to the US right now seems a bit oxymoronic George Soros made the comment; “The idea that the markets are self-correcting has been proven false.” If he was referring to the most recent events as evidence, then to some extent he is correct. However, that is only because the market was never given the chance to correct because Big Brother stepped in, and later the Messiah. Companies that should have been allowed to fail, and yes the economy would have felt some pain and many folks would lose their jobs, and the market would have found a way to profit from other’s stupidity. Back to the jobs and pain issue. Are we not feeling this right now? Hasn’t the Messiah and his disciples been sounding the death bell for the economy since from before day one? Isn’t the unemployment rate rising with more doom and gloom predicted daily? So… what is different since we bailed out the idiots on Wall Street?

Now, here is where the conspiracy nut in me comes out. George Soros, who made some of his billions in 1992 by short-selling the British Pound and forcing the UK government to devalue its currency, was a keynote speaker at this finance meeting. He is also making billions again short-selling the current market and his firm was recently fined for manipulating stocks in Hungary. Isn’t this sort of like asking the fox to attend a security meeting for the chicken coop? And if this wasn’t bad enough, it seems the 77yr old is trying to take some more UK currency with him to the pearly gates (as if…)

This guy Soros is known to be a Democrat supporter and a huge liberal-socialist. Why the heck isn’t someone following the money with this guy? He has got to be funneling money to the Dems, AKORN, and other soci… opps, dems running for office. If just one connection can be made it would have to be questioned by the drive-by media, at least a cursory covering. Or, do you think the media is so attached to Obama that they dare not question the guy they helped into office?

Republican’s Budget Buffoonery

Background: Pelosi’s Comments on Republican Budget

This will be a short entry today because I have to plan where in the world I am going to live when my beloved country collapses due to complete incompetence, on both sides.

Normally I classify most of the words that come out of Pelosi as lyrics from a Loony Tune character’s song and dance routine. However, this time the bat in the house belfry has a point about the Republican budget proposal. Of course, my instantaneous thought is that she is hypocritical because her president (haven’t gotten to the point of calling Obama “my President” yet) ran an entire Presidential Race on nothing but “Hope” and “Change”. I think we now see that Obama hoped he could change the US into a socialist society and entrench democratic power for decades.

But I look deeply into the document and find her words ringing true. Pelosi’s words ringing true are scary enough, but being true about something Republican is downright frightening! The Republican budget was nothing more than a philosophical rejection of Obama’s budget. While there is a desperate need to clearly define a Republican philosophy, a budget is no place for demagoguery. Emotional pleadings are the specialty of the Dems and rejected lovers, not budgets.

Once again, I am disappointed in my once proud party and its leadership. Can someone please tell Mr. Steele to just leave and join some cable talk show where he can rant and cry to his heart’s content! Still, if he knew about this fiasco of a proposal and didn’t call the House Minority Leader to stop it, then he should skip the talk shows and work for the Kenyan Wildlife department. Their parks have some hornless black rhinos and he would fit right in!

Another Obama Secret Agenda? Shift Philanthropic Decisions to Government

Background:

Not only does Obama want to control what our children learn, how we are healed (or not if you are too old), and what we know about his plans to rewrite the future of the US, he also wants to eventually control philanthropy. The 2010 budget calls for a shifting of money from charitable donations to creating a fund for socialized health care by reducing the deductible percentage of charitable giving from its current high mark of 35% to around 28%. Not wanting to spend too much time on the health care side of this but let’s just say that government “piggy banks” have never worked and only end up being collateral for government borrowing for more government spending. Instead, pay attention to the underlying agenda here as it relates to the rewriting the social framework of the US.

Americans give more money away than any other group of people on earth. Compared to our other capitalist friends the Europeans we are philanthropic giants. However, European governments collect high taxes through various means and do often give to things like international development and emergency relief but rarely, if ever, to faith-based enterprises. Government philanthropy through income redistribution seems to be a good way to control churches and other religious endeavors. But the key word there is “government”. Government is the one making philanthropic decisions, not individuals.

Call me a conspiracy nut if you want but I do not trust Liberals with their historic agenda against anything religious. That is unless the religion is non-Judeo-Christian which is anti-American, that is ok. You can argue that Obama went to church regularly but then again so did Clinton, until he was dismissed from the Baptist Convention, and his administration was not exactly friendly towards faith-based initiatives either. Liberal history and their overarching agenda to remove God from our government and society is part of the Obama administration’s grand plans to “rewrite the face of America”. Also, Obama talks about improving education in our country but does he realize that many of our universities rely on the philanthropy of individuals to fund research, building, and lectureships? I’m sure his alma mater will not be pleased with this budget initiative.

Mr. Orszag, of OMB, says that the amount is small and makes the difference between middle-income and upper-income closer and more fair. Here we go with class warfare word again. I am not wealthy, in fact I am a missionary in Ghana, and can claim some right to “blame the wealthy” because I am poor (relatively speaking of course). However, I do not because I believe in freedom which includes becoming wealthy. The wealthy funds the college, the orphanage, and other benevolent ministries I’m involved with here so that would also be hypocritical of me. Wealthy Christians make the lives of many people in the world better through their giving. Wealthy Christians would rather give their money to God than to government. Some give money because of their deep commitment to their faith and others because they do not want the government to take their money to pay for abortions, embryonic stem cell research, or put condoms in the hands of 6th graders. Still, the wealthy make business decisions based on many parameters and one is money. Tax rates and tax policies affect financial business decisions. Just because a person is religious doesn’t mean he/she cannot think!

Obama’s policies are already making it difficult for the wealthy to hire people and create wealth through their labor. His efforts to take over banks are scaring investors out of the market. Now, his budget is going to make it difficult for those of us who have dedicated our lives to helping the less fortunate more difficult. Every economic policy Obama has enacted will affect those of us in the benevolence fields. His policies will affect the decisions businesspeople make towards philanthropic efforts. There will be less money available to help the poor. The poor will always be with us, that is truth. How we treat those less fortunate will be our measuring stick. Right now, I see Obama as wanting.

DNC Limbaugh “Apology” Web Site; where’s the RNC’s?

Background:

This whole DNC/Liberal Media conversation about Limbaugh saying he wanted Obama to fail is just more evidence that the Dems are nervous about the strength a “Libaughesque” leader would mean for the Republican party. They fear real leadership in that it would mean an end to their surreptitious plans to remake the US into a socialist union of states. The above article is just another vain attempt to steer the brain-dead mass media (and its zombie viewers) away from Democrat plans. They do not want the message of Limbaugh, and other similar radio talk show personalities, to resonate with the masses.

To be honest though, the RNC should be apologizing to its membership for not giving us the leadership we crave. A leader that is strong, irreverent to media, and led by a vision of greatness that is thoroughly embedded in our country’s foundational documents; freedom and unobtrusive government. The Libs and Drive-Bys would never be able to overcome such a man. RNC, listen to the droves of people tuning into the likes of Limbaugh and find a leader among you that resonates the fundamentals of the message; life, liberty, freedom, and the pursuit of happiness. This is not “Limbaugh’s message” it is our message from our founders through the documents we hold dear as a nation. A message that we need to carry on for our children and future generations. It is clear through the actions of the Democrats that they are not concerned about or heritage.

RNC, we Republicans are tired of your sycophantic meandering and are calling you out for leadership. There is no way we can ever vote Democrat but it is becoming equally clear that we may no longer vote Republican either. Mr. Steele, if you are a man made of the moral fiber of generations gone by then be THE leader of the RNC that stands on the simple principles of our forefathers. If you cannot stand up to the onslaught of socialism, or worse yet buy into the philosophy, then please step down. RNC Committee, likewise for you as well. The Republicans of this great nation need, nay… crave, leadership that will be strong and courageous in this fight for the soul of our nation.
