Republicans favor Vice President Condoleezza Rice in CNN poll.

On Wednesday, April 18th, 2012, CNN published the findings of a telephone poll seeking the views of American Republican voters as to who they’d most like to see Mitt Romney pick as his Vice Presidential running mate if he wins the Republican nomination for president.

Condoleezza Rice topped the poll with 26%.

Another question asked Republican voters if they had a favourable or unfavorable opinion of certain people in the news and again Condoleezza Rice topped the poll with an 80% favorable result.

The detailed results from the poll as regards Condoleezza Rice are included below.

As well as a link to the CNN Politics – Political Ticker webpage which reports the poll finding, other political and news websites have reported the results of this poll and many bloggers have commented and two example excerpts (from Politico & Hot Air) are included here.

The result of this poll is not a surprise because the voters confidence in Condi in the White House is nothing new.

The only thing which changed this week is that the pollster on this occasion put the name “Condoleezza Rice” in as a poll option in the questions.

Most of the political polls don’t name “Condoleezza Rice” as someone to think about voting for and that’s the main reason why Condi isn’t regularly topping many political polls, especially when voters are asked to pick their favorite Republican for President or VP.

A successful black female? Media will go phoeey on that, she’ll get the Clarence Thomas meets Sarah Palin treatment, and it wil be an excuse to talk about Iraq instead of the economy.

Condi would be a bad pick for Romney. He needs a strong executive and a good conservative (or good, strong, conservative, executive). Jindhal, Kasich, Mitch Daniels maybe.

As for Condi, she’s pro-choice. I don’t see how that helps Romney with Evangelicals, where he’s already having trouble with trust issues.

However, I don’t think she’s the best VP pick for Romney. If say Newt Gingrich was our nominee, Rice would be an awesome VP, but Romney being a moderate needs someone that not only appeals to the general public, but to the base as well, and I don’t see her doing that, unfortunately.

Sorry about that but many of those images would not be readable either if I scaled them down to a width of 500 pixels either.

If you can click on the left. visible side of the those images or text columns which are too wide for the Red-State column width then you should get popped-up either the web-page from which the image or text is a snapshot of, or in the case of the poll findings, the full image in its own window.

Also when you hover your mouse cursor over the image or text there should be a context-message which tells you what to expect if you do click.

So the information is there if you can click on the part you want to read.

I also gave a link to a webpage where the posted message can be read as intended. Here is the link again.

So it is all there for you if you click but it was not easy to fit it all into this narrow column here at Red State.

If your excuse is RedState’s format doesn’t fit your style, I don’t know what to tell you. If you want people to read your stuff, I’d just suggest you figure out a way to make it visually appealing here.

The “too wide for Red State narrow column” images / text, are not “my style” nor “my stuff”. Rather they are quotes of someone else’s image or text, someone else’s style, someone else’s stuff which can be viewed by readers, if they want, by clicking on the part of the image or text they can see to pop up the full image or webpage being quoted.

So I am providing simple instructions, not an “excuse”.
