Never Gonna Stand For This

I hope this tune by Jamie Teachenor and Banjo Ben Clark goes viral. The ones in power are not able to campaign on their record, and some like Janeane Garofalo, Howard Dean, Tim Keane, and Ed Rendell are telling them to campaign against the wacky fringe rednecks. This is not a new idea. For as long as I can remember any conservative candidate has been demonized as too extremist and dangerous. We can’t stand for this strategy to work. We need to keep reminding people about who has been in power for the last four years. We need to remind people that the deficits run up by these people over the last three years are the largest ever. I have a photo gallery of the candidates they are lumping together as a bunch of racist rednecks. They do not scare me one bit. Of course I am a conservative Republican. I did not include any photos of incumbents who have previously been elected in House, Senate or as Governor. I also only included photos of women and minority candidates who actually can win their contest in 2010. Do not let the mud that the opposition slings get you discouraged about any of these people. Let’s support them and help them over the final hurdle on Nov. 2.

GC highly recos and pil', my key line of your's is this:

“The ones in power are not able to campaign on their record…”

That is a relatively rare statement that correctly assesses election cycles, but does in this case, and that fact says to me that Americans en masse understand that ObamaDem policies are radically terrible.

The Dems will get no mileage with their diversions toward pimples on the faces of the regular folks that are having to interrupt soccer moms to fix the mess the ruling class has made of Liberty.

You remember that Harry has stated how no latino can be or vote for a conservative Republican. If he says it… well kind of like the war is lost statement of his.

GC will be otherwise occupied this weekend with USC-Georgia and so will not write this weekend, so we adopt this column and our recent one thinking that its a net positive that our enemies see 50 people still so mad about 911 that they considered burning the book that inspired 911 as our 911 anniversary rooster crowings.

Took my child bride up to the revolving lounge. ‘Course, you can mostly only see the sides of the newer, taller buildings from it these days. I had to explain to the cocktail waitress that right here in this very spot was where Jimmy Buffet was inspired to write, “Let’s Get Drunk and Screw.” How could you live in ATL and not know that?!!!!!

I do need to get down there, but I have all this selling the house and moving to ANC going on now. I should be out painting trim right now, but I can find all sorts of excuses to avoid it. As I said in the diary, I tore down the old house awhile back and I really need to go there, but I also really don’t want to; too raw.

cool, a Glock 18

Doc Holliday (Diary) Sunday, September 12th at 12:13AM EDT (link)

I don’t think those can be imported, too bad they actually work unlike most full auto pistols.

Molon Labe!

I WISH it were a Glock 18... it was just a Glock 19 firing fast!

Oh, I forgot to post this other shooting video from my trip to the range yesterday (it was an outdoor range this time).

in my office. It had great sound and a spinning barrel, whole thing. Some days I used it to end discussions, others I just started up the flying pig that hung over my conference table.

‘Course, you don’t want to think about how many truckloads of ammo that little “firefight” would have taken. I’ve seen videos of some of my kid’s unit’s firefights in Afghanistan, and they’re almost that profligate with ammo. When they were fired on, they just started hosing. They might have been more disciplined when they were out in the field and away from their fire base, but during attacks on the fire base, they just filled the air with lead.

People who don’t know any better are very critical of Civil War and later quartermasters and armorers for their reticence and slowness in adopting repeating rifles. The limitation was horsepower; it took all the transport the armies could muster to provide the necessary ammunition for single shot muskets and the logistics trains just simply couldn’t get more ammunition to the troops. One of the reasons Meade was so slow in pursueing Lee after Gettysburg is that his men were hungry, poorly shod, and lacking all sorts of other supplies because they had used all their transport to get ammunition from the railhead to the battle field. The literally had set up a nose to tail line of mules and horses with wooden ammo cases slung over their backs from the railhead to the battlefield to keep the men firing. Lee’s train was almost eighty miles long, but one of the reasons he broke off the engagement after the 3rd Day was he wasn’t comfortable that he had enough artillery ammunition left to respond to the expected Yankee attack.

Ammo IS Heavy. That Is Why We Need Weapons Like THIS!

Florida is definitely represented on my list

pilgrim (Diary) Sunday, September 12th at 11:15AM EDT (link)

I have more photos of Floridians than any other state. These candidates I have listed are going to give the leftys the most heartburn. The leftys can abide with losses in Alabama and Idaho, but they will fight hard and suffer the most with losses in Florida and California.

Sorry, Pil'...

qixlqatl (Diary) Sunday, September 12th at 11:51PM EDT (link)

I think the picture might have still been loading, leaving just a blank space. My isp leaves something to be desired (like another 1.5 mbps or so), and the way data is prioritized for download doesn’t necessarily seem rational to me.

I know I checked three times to be sure I wasn’t missing Lt. Col. West, and he just wasn’t showing up on my monitor. It didn’t make sense that you would have left him out… should have paid more attention, I know it can sometimes take up to a minute to get a graphics heavy page fully loaded. I should have known you wouldn’t miss him.

Mea culpa, mea culpa :(

A Glock is a "full auto" pistol?

Michael M. Keohane (Diary) Sunday, September 12th at 7:35AM EDT (link)

Pardon me but a Glock is a “semi-automatic” pistol. Note that all the shots were “semi-auto.”

Do not classify the words or deeds of your opponents as being hatefull, malicious or criminal in nature if they can also be easily characterized as simple ignorance or gross stupidity. Anon.

The Glock 18 is full auto............ nt

Kenny Solomon (Diary) Sunday, September 12th at 8:08AM EDT (link)

As in pull the trigger and it just keeps firing automatic? Don't think so,

Achance (Diary) Sunday, September 12th at 9:29AM EDT (link)

unless somebody’s been hanging out with a very good gunsmith. Think it is a gas operated semi-automatic; pull the trigger and it fires one round and cycles another round into firing position.

In Vino Veritas

Guess I was wrong, there is a full-auto version of the Glock 18.

Achance (Diary) Sunday, September 12th at 9:51AM EDT (link)

Don’t know that it is available to non-military/law enforcement types in the US, but there is one that has selective fire and usually a 33 round magazine.

In Vino Veritas

with a collectors liscence, maybe. [nt]

You just need the appropriate tax stamp.

mbecker908 (Diary) Sunday, September 12th at 3:43PM EDT (link)

Just like for a full auto M16 or MP5, or a suppressor, etc. Costs a couple of hundred bucks for the stamp, the background check takes about six + months and you’ll be on EVERY list EVERYWHERE.

Change

yes Mbeck you can own a fully auto but not a G18

Doc Holliday (Diary) Sunday, September 12th at 4:55PM EDT (link)

They (the feds) don’t allow importation of full auto firearms or parts made after 1986. As far as I know, a civilian can not buy a Glock 18 in this country. They are however, sold in other countries and to LEO here.

Molon Labe!

Oh yeah, a Glock 18 is Full Auto... I've shot one.

minncon (Diary) Sunday, September 12th at 3:35PM EDT (link)

Here’s the vid….

My Glock 19 is only a minor modification away from it, though… (a minor mod with a major prison term!)

yes, I was not paying attention

Doc Holliday (Diary) Sunday, September 12th at 5:04PM EDT (link)

I should have known it was a g19. I saw the g 18 style mag heard a lot of firing, and thought it was a G18, a weapon that is fully automatic.

I understand full auto from semi. I even know the difference between double action, single action, DAO, and safe action . Most think they know, but they don’t.
