Lessons We Can Learn From a Honduran Blogger [Updated Blogger's Open Letter to Obama]
By: pilgrim (Diary) | June 29th at 01:52 PM |
I ran across a blog by a Honduran that is titled What We Hondurans Want. I encourage you to read the entire article, and Digg it if you deem it worthy. While it is very helpful in getting an understanding about life in Honduras, I believe there are lessons from this article for also understanding life in the USA. [Update]The blogger, rschenkel, has written an | Read More »
ObamaSpeak – sounds like chalk on a chalkboard to me
By: pilgrim (Diary) | May 1st at 12:55 PM |
On the release of top-secret memos I am absolutely convinced it was the right thing to do — not because there might not have been information that was yielded by these various detainees who were subjected to this treatment, but because we could have gotten this information in other ways, in ways that were consistent with our values, in ways that were consistent with who | Read More »
Boehner & Cantor Missed an Opportunity-Don’t Hold a Grudge Against Them
By: pilgrim (Diary) | March 21st at 12:46 PM |
The House passes punishing taxes on AIG and other bonuses as reported by a local TV station in Portland, OR. I got this link using my handy dandy GOP.com tool bar, by the way. I think that Boehner and Cantor missed an opportunity to whip the entire Republican members of the House to vote “Present” on this bill. Here is why I wish they had | Read More »
The Obama Administration Is Not Clueless
By: pilgrim (Diary) | February 17th at 10:40 PM |
There are so many pundits and journalists who are willing to carry the water for the Obama Administration. They report to their viewers, listeners, and readers that nobody knows for sure what effect the Obama Stimulus Plan is going to have, and if there is a further downturn that it would just be an unintended consequence of this youthful inexperienced team. I do not buy | Read More »
Quotations from Chairman Barack
By: pilgrim (Diary) | January 25th at 12:48 PM |
There are some recent developments this month that really creep me out, and they do not receive the attention and scrutiny they deserve. One has to do with a new product, Pocket Obama, that is being sold at The History Company. When I first read this I thought it was some kind of cruel joke. Here is an excerpt – Printed in a size that | Read More »
My Fellow Citizens – and so it begins
By: pilgrim (Diary) | January 21st at 08:11 PM |
On January 20, 2009 Barack Hussein Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America. Following the swearing in ceremony President Obama began his inaugural address with the phrase “My fellow citizens”. Hearing this words was like hearing chalk scratching a blackboard. Every President in my lifetime has always used the phrase “my fellow Americans”, and I do believe Obama | Read More »
On This I Agree With Obama
By: pilgrim (Diary) | November 7th at 11:16 AM |
Let’s remember that it was a man from this state who first carried the banner of the Republican Party to the White House, a party founded on the values of self-reliance and individual liberty and national unity. Those are values that we all share.
The Pilot or the Wizard?

I just read an excellent column by John Andrews over at TownHall, The Pilot or the Wizard?, and it inspired me to write this blog.
The Coming Backlash?
By: pilgrim (Diary) | October 18th at 12:28 PM |
The title of this diary is from a recent article by Pat Buchanan at TownHall. I am not one of Pat’s fans, especially when he writes as an apologist for Hitler’s third Reich, but he does have a sharp political mind. Pat makes the distinction in this article between Barack Obama and George McGovern. an excerpt –
Barack Obama – Doubting Thomas
By: pilgrim (Diary) | August 17th at 08:43 AM |
In December of 2007 I wrote up this blog, Barack & Clarence’s Memoirs A Stark Contrast. A feathered liberal poster, flyerhawk, pointed out the contrast in the memoirs is because Barack wrote his at the age of 31 and Clarence wrote his at 59. So I accept this explanation, and don’t think about it anymore until Barack tells Pastor Rick he would never have nominated | Read More »
