So What If Romney Has Offshore Accounts?

The left seems obsessed with Mitt Romney’s tax returns.  Even more interesting, Democrats seem to think Americans actually care about Romney’s tax returns.  I suspect this is because the left is rapidly running out of ammunition and is grasping at straws.

Harry Reid then doubled down by going to the floor of the U.S. Senate to levy an unsubstantiated claim that Romney paid no taxes for ten years.  Reid did not specify if Romney did so illegally.  Without any proof or evidence, Reid of course must be classified as a liar.

Some on the left, like Bob Beckel, while in angry rants about Romney’s tax returns, mention wanting to know if Romney has offshore accounts.  I guess that’s supposed to be bad.

So what if Romney has offshore accounts?  Assuming everything is done legally, why would this be a bad thing?  I would assume anyone, including the wealthy, will do what is most advantageous to them.  Wouldn’t you?

Having offshore accounts would prove Romney understands U.S. tax code and human nature.  He understands why people like Nancy Pelosi and  Debbie Wasserman Schultz use offshore accounts.

As President, Mitt Romney could use that knowledge to change the environment that encourages sending money and jobs offshore.  President Obama obviously doesn’t have a clue.

Of course the left doesn’t want to hear why the wealthy send their money offshore, because the answer is high taxes, and that is 180 degrees away from where Democrats want to go.

First, the investments were made in a blind trust- Romney has no real say.

Secondly, many of those were actually used to invest in American businesses. It’s really testament to our complicated tax code. There’s no question that Romney did the smart, but legal and ethical, thing.

atleast from our side is NOT whether is right to have offshore accounts. It is more about why is ROmney not using the offshore accounts to proudly say that he wants every American to be able to progress and have the ability to have offshore accounts.

I, for one, want to know if Romney would reduce my income taxes by 20% but would take away my mortgage interest deduction. If Romney takes away my mortgage interest deduction then he is raising my overall taxes and preventing me from achieving the ability to have offshore accounts

I suspect a lot of people are more interested in their own taxes than they are Mitt Romney’s taxes. We already know everybody’s taxes are going up with Obamacare.

I want to know how Romney would make his tax plan revenue neutral ? As I said, if Romney reduces my income taxes by 20% but would take away my mortgage interest deduction then he would be violating the ATR pledge by increasing my taxes as a whole

and one I think many people want an answer to. If Romney reduces cuts taxes, but eliminates various deductions, then.. I’m not exactly sure what’s accomplished there if over all we’re spending more money then we’re saving.

I wish he would go into detail on what exactly he’s planning on doing, rather then simply saying he’s going to cut taxes.
