MEMBER DIARY

Chris Cristie

Personally, I can’t be mad enough at Cristie for what he did to Romney and the rest of the country. And I am glad that he was not invited to CPAC. I look forward to other examples of how he is getting snubbed by Republicans and Conservatives. WIth that out of the way, here is the significance of his great photo op with “O” and his post gushing of the President.

To me this revealed a very short sighted thinker and it showed someone who panics under pressure. I find it appalling that he would not welcome Romney’s help during this time of crisis and I find it equally appalling that he could not stay cool-headed enough to hold the line for Romney and understand that his victory would have brought real relief to the people of New Jersey. Instead he, did what was expediant and acted out of fear and turned to his political enemy who I have yet to hear has done jack for New Jersey or anyone else.

The media is now warming up to Cristie. Geraldo is calling him the most popular Republican in the country. Popular to who? New Jersey? Democrats? I think the last question is the right answer.

Democrats love him because they and their media cronies can groom this schlep as the next electable canidate that we should put up against their next Rockstar especially if they do something fruity like run Michelle Obama( but, that is another diary).

As far as I am concerned, Mr Christie has nothing to say that interests me. As I am fond of pointing out, he feels New Jersey comes first and the rest of America can kiss his ass. And if the people of New Jersey love him so much I am happy to help keep him there.

well i mean he IS the governor of new jersey…
I can’t blame Christie for his actions during Sandy, nor did it affect the election… Look, there was a serious crisis, he needed to deal with his state and their emergency, and because he did, he is now the most popular governor in the USA.
Christie is a republican, but rejecting the federal government’s aide would have been a mistake, you dont play politics with people’s lives.

I guess the lovefest with Obama was necessary as well? I think he showed his true stripes.

I am glad he doesn’t interest you. And we here would be grateful if you would stop dangling that carrot in front if him. He is no conservative. But I hate to say it, you aren’t going to win any blue states by running a candidate who is speaking at CPAC. Of course, you can’t win the blue states by running a liberal either as McCain and Romney have proven. No, the only way I get to live in a red state is going to be move. And since I can’t do that right now, at least I have the satisfaction of having a governor that isn’t a democrat.

WmCraig I understand your predicament. I am happy to stop dangling the carrot in front of Mr. Christie and like I said, I am happy to help him stay right in New Jersey where he is so loved.

I live in NJ. I worked in call centers to get this guy elected. I will NEVER vote, donate, or advocate for this guy ever again. The Obamacare Medicaid expansion was the last straw. He will be long gone by time the full cost gets shifted to NJ. He also seems to operate under the pretense that since the federal govt covers the cost for the first few years that we aren’t paying for it. Newsflash Mr. Christie: We pay for it regardless of which govt entity it comes from. Also, he ran on lowering taxes. My property taxes are the highest they have ever been.

Sounds like he is doing so much for New Jersey. What’s the point of having Republican governor if he doesn’t act like one? Saying that the Democrat alternative is worse no longer cuts it. If there is going to be change, I think we need to demand total change; not just a watered down version of liberalism.
