Republicans Must Demand Answers on Lockerbie Release

I personally find Obama’s condemnation of this release to be highly suspect.

1.  You mean to tell me that President Obama nor anyone in State Dept ( Clinton) were not informed about this release prior to it happening?

2.  If so when and how?  If not can this be backed up by Scotland?

3.  Answers in both areas are troubling.  If he was why did he not put pressure Scotland into not doing this?  I mean he is so loved by Europe!  If not ( I don’t buy it for minute) then its a total failure on our State Department and leadership of Clinton

So many answers must be resolved and I hope the media starts asking them

I’m here too. Amazing. No firm stance in support of families as with Cole. No defense based on principle. No strong condemnation of terrorists and those that support them. Instead he wishes “peace” to the murdering lunatics running Iran.

cant win for trying i guess...

“The interests of justice have not been served by this decision,” Attorney General Eric Holder said in a statement, saying he was “extremely disappointed” by the release. “There is simply no justification for releasing this convicted terrorist whose actions took the lives of 270 individuals, including 189 Americans.”

“As we have expressed repeatedly to officials of the government of the United Kingdom and to Scottish authorities, we continue to believe that Megrahi should serve out his sentence in Scotland,” he said in a statement. “On this day, we extend our deepest sympathies to the families who live every day with the loss of their loved ones. We recognize the effects of such a loss weigh upon a family forever.”

The White House said that it, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Holder and other U.S. officials had “extensive contacts” with their counterparts in Britain to oppose the release.

So can you explain to me how the above does not qualify as “support of families” or “condemnation of terrorists”?

Failure

proudgop Friday, August 21st at 1:46PM EDT (link)

Its a total failure then on part of Obama and Clinton.

If they had extensive talks with Scotland authorities and they still did this I suppose FAILURE is continuing in Obama adminstration

question....

dave_in_atl Friday, August 21st at 2:16PM EDT (link)

So when a country does not do what we want it is a failure for the president?

What do you propose exactly? Invade Scotland for their disobedience?

Listen

Are you a Republican?

Anyways, one of the arguments was that Obama would be better at foreign policy because the “world” loved him. In this case Obama failed to act and prevent Scotland from doing this.

I doubt the administration did hardly anything to stop this. A President is suppose to support his country and its people around the world and in this case the victims of this tragedy deserved a President and admin. who fought for their rights. I don’t think Obama did anything expect words but he tends to have a lot empty words

“Victory comes, though we know not when. We must be happy warriors until the end.

For those of you who struggle with what goes on, who see retreat and capitulation, and who feel like not just your political opponents, but those who hold dear all those things you hold as blasphemous — be cheerful. Be happy. Victory is already yours.

You must just have the courage to not get discouraged and have the will to fight on.” – Erick Erickson at RightOnline

Because even friends get along 100% of the time, and agree on everything!

I doubt the administration did hardly anything to stop this. You doubt, and think, but do you have any evidence to back up said doubts? Or to put it another way you are letting your personal emotions cloud your judgment. Yes Obama might have basically done nothing like you said, but at this point the evidence points in the other direction, so you are just making stuff up to fit your world view.

Are you a Republican?

Because that makes one bit of difference? I don’t think everything someone does is bad just because I am from the other side. Nor do I believe that everyone on my side is perfect.

But since you asked I would qualify myself as a moderate that leans right.

You proved my point

proudgop Friday, August 21st at 2:34PM EDT (link)

I have seen zero proof Obama did anything to stop this! Zero! Seeing, you like defending him point it out. The admin. then owes the media any proof of what it did to help Scotland not make this decision.

I hope if your a “friend” you make sure you make your” friend” is nudged your way and if not their are consequences.

Obama failed to lead here! FAILURE

there is plenty of evidence...

dave_in_atl Friday, August 21st at 3:11PM EDT (link)

There are at least 3 administration officials stating they were dealing with Scotland on this issue, and exactly 0 officials from Scotland saying anything different.

Yes its not proof, but its more than you have.

I have seen zero proof Obama did anything to stop this! Zero!

I have seen zero proof Obama didn’t do anything to stop this! Zero!

see… I can play your game also!

also....

dave_in_atl Friday, August 21st at 3:20PM EDT (link)

I like your strategy btw… Make up something, provide zero proof, and then demand that Obama must provide proof, otherwise what you have made up is obviously true.

Brilliant!

Proved Point Again

proudgop Friday, August 21st at 7:49PM EDT (link)

Its a wonderful to click on posters name and see that they just appear on here to defend Obama

1. Why should we trust a word Obama says? He lies
2. He owes the American people an explanation of what he and his admin did to try to stop Scotland from doing what they did. A phone call is nothing

I like your strategy btw…. stand by man who likes hanging around with terrorists and shaking their hands and then condemning them

...

dave_in_atl Friday, August 21st at 9:08PM EDT (link)

You can attack me to deflect my criticisms all you want, but don’t delude yourself into thinking you are strengthening your argument. There are thousands of legitimate criticisms against Obama why make something up?

If you build up a house of cards don’t whine when someone knocks it down.

Made Nothing Up

proudgop Friday, August 21st at 9:17PM EDT (link)

Made nothing up he failed to once again lead as our commander in chief

He did nothing to stop this and his empty words are just that empty

hah

dave_in_atl Friday, August 21st at 10:34PM EDT (link)

BTW…. if you happen to be interested in the truth, this seems more likely….

The release of the Lockerbie bomber was tied to trade deals between Libya and the UK, reports quote the son of Libyan leader Colonel Gaddafi saying.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/south_of_scotland/8215554.stm

Remember… the US is not the only place in the world with corrupt politicians.

Your point

proudgop Saturday, August 22nd at 2:16AM EDT (link)

Your point?

Our President should of been playing hardball too with Scotland. if u this their will be some fallout. Thats tough leadership that we had under Bush but not this wimp
