Why Should I Stay in This Party?

I am tired. Very Tired. Over the years I have watched my party nominate Bob Dole and John McCain. This year they seem to want to nominate Romney.

Romney opposed Reagan.
Opposed Forbe’s Flat tax and proposes virtually nothing on taxes.
Supports Washington directing health care.

The Republican party has left me. I want to know why I should stay in this party?

You said, “I want to know why I should stay in this party?”

Are you asking why you should remain a voter registered to vote as a Republican?

Or are you asking whether you should remain a voting, “card-carrying” member of the Republican Party?

If you are not already inside the Party as a precinct committeeman (might be called something else in your state), I suggest you investigate how to become one where you live. And then attend your local committee meetings.

The reason the Republican Party is not “conservative enough” for some conservatives is because there are not enough conservatives in the Party. Half the precinct committeeman slots are vacant and about one-third of the precincts across the country have not a single Republican precinct committeeman.

If we conservatives filled up all the vacant precinct committeeman slots we’d be in a position to elect new, more conservative officers at the local, county, state and RNC levels. For example, if we had true conservatives running the RNC, we wouldn’t be having the likes of George Steponallofus asking our candidates questions at the “debates.”

Saturday our county committee met in Phoenix. Here’s some of what happened at the meeting:

Because we’ve greatly increased the number of conservative precinct committeemen, we were able to elect conservatives to all five of the “At Large” positions on the Executive Board of the Executive Guidance Committee. As we did two years ago.

If you can’t for some reason become a PC, perhaps you could volunteer your time and talents in some other way with your local committee.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

which is why there are 50-60% of us who want a real choice in 2012, real leadership, real spine, and, stop putting rigid ideology first – how we got to >Fifteen trillion in Federal debt (add in New York and California debt and might as well try to sell California to China, and relocate Israel to New York which would at least getthe United Nations to relocate :)

well, ice storm approaches and I am going to see “War Horse”

and praying for some “Mitt Fits” that change the South Carolina vote on Jan. 21.

Both parties have abandoned most of us.

Just bad timing when the bond markets are about to devour us.

As long as election laws favor the two party system, the better option for a conservative is to stay Republican.

    but just as certain.

Maybe a third party in Republican only states so they are forced to change laws. (Otherwise giving Dems constant wins)
