Convert or Die

The “Religion of Peace” strikes again.

In September of last year, a Christian pastor n Iran was sentenced to death for apostasy after having been arrested in October 2009 for complaining to his son’s school that his son was forced to read from the Koran at school.
Between June 2010 and January 2011, there were an additional 202 arrests, with many still remaining in prison. There is Some hope in this case as a higher court in Iran as ordered lower courts to look over the trial again, but the consensus is that even if the death penalty is revoked, Pastor Nadarkhani will likely not be released.

Meanwhile, in Afghanistan, Right Now, it is a death penalty offense to convert away from Islam. The widely publicized trial in 2006 may have ended well after pressure from President Bush, but the situation did not change the law. Last year, there was Another case, less widely publicized, of a Christian convert being tried for that very crime and with his life also on the line. No pressure from President Obama was forthcoming and his trial proceeded apace until international pressure from Other nations and private organizations secured his release just in time for Christmas last year.

Christians taken by the Taliban or other NGOs in Afghanistan, have not received such fortuitous outcomes.

And this, fellow Redstaters, is the religion of peace. The religion our current president defends in speaches and whose practices he participates in while denigrating American traditions such as the National Day of Prayer, a non-denominational event for the recognition of All religions.

Let us be aware in the current Presidential Primary feeding frenzy, that whichever person we end up with will at least be better than what we have now.

For 224 years

Every time you turn around you hear some Liberal saying that Islamic terrorism is the fault of the USA. They tell us that if we hadn’t been occupying Saudi Arabia, we never would have been attacked on 9/11. They say that if we weren’t occupying Iraq and Afghanistan, the Muslims around the world would love us. Or at least not hate us. Not if we gave up helping Israel, too.

Folks on our side of the aisle respond that Radical Islam has been around since the 80s, citing numerous terrorist attacks on our embassies in Africa and the Middle East, hijackings of airliners, assassination attempts and so on.

What is being ignored is that this has actually been going on for 224 years of American history. Since we won our War for Independence. And before that, the attacks were on European nations. For the purpose of this diary, we will look only at the attacks on the USA.

For hundreds of years, there had been war between the Muslim and Christian nations that had interests in the Mediterranean Sea. By the 1600s it had settled down to mostly piracy. The most prolific and feared of the lot were the Barbary Pirates of North Africa who gave allegiance to the Sultan’s regent in Tripoli. Even after their effectiveness dwindled under English guns in the 1700s, they were still feared enough to be given tribute by all European, seafaring nations.

With victory in the American Revolution, American ships lost the protection of the British Navy in the Mediterranean Sea and began to fall prey to the Barbary pirates.
In 1784, President Washington and the United States Congress sent the Barbary pirates $80,000 as tribute to convince them to leave our ships alone. They did not. Our crews were killed or enslaved and our trade-goods stolen. In 1799, this payment was formalized in a treaty with Tripoli. Tribute to the Barbary Pirates was the greatest expense in the Federal Budget, amounting to 20% of all expenditures, and still our people were murdered and enslaved and our property stolen.

Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson had argued in 1784 for the creation of a Navy, stating that this nation must choose “…between war, tribute and ransom,” and that tribute was money thrown away. He was overruled by Congress.

In 1801, after taking office as the President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson refused to make the tribute payment and the Bashaw of Tripoli responded by cutting down the flag at the US Consulate and declared war.
President Jefferson’s response is well-known: he forced the creation of the Navy and the United States Marine Corps through Congress and attacked the Barbary nations. The wars finally ended in 1815 with American victory.

What is apparently Not well-known and needs to be reiterated every time this comes up in discussion, is the reason the Barbary pirates attacked American ships in the first place.
In the Spring of 1786, Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson and John Adams met with the Envoy of Tripoli, Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman (or Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja). In answer to the question of why Tripoli should make war on nations that had done no injury, Thomas Jefferson wrote of the Ambassador’s reply:

It was written in their Koran, that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every mussulman who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise. He said, also, that the man who was the first to board a vessel had one slave over and above his share, and that when they sprang to the deck of an enemy’s ship, every sailor held a dagger in each hand and a third in his mouth; which usually struck such terror into the foe that they cried out for quarter at once.

emphasis added

Because we were not a Muslim nation, all Muslims were not just encouraged but Required to attack, kill and enslave our people.

We didn’t start this. American “Imperialism” isn’t the cause of this. “Radical” Muslims did because we are non-believers.

Let’s Not Forget the TSA

We have been fighting the blue gropers for years now, but they don’t seem to attract much attention anymore.  Not since we lost the battle over the full body scanners.

Here’s a story that Should return the scanners to the front of everyone’s minds.

The Transportation Security Administration employee charged with assaulting a coworker who taunted him about the size of his penis after his genitalia was exposed by a full-body scanner has agreed to attend anger management classes and write a letter of apology as part of a settlement of his criminal case, records show.

The important thing here is not so much the assault.  Nor is it the plea deal.  It’s that this one paragraph holds true what we have been saying about the full body scanners the entire time:  They show the naked bodies of the victims through their clothes.  This man was violated and then taunted by his coworkers/violators over that violation.  How many other people have been violated in this way?

Further, the story included a picture (warning: NSFW). Supposedly the images taken by the scanners are not saved in any way, shape, or form. And yet, here is another one. How are these images surviving? How many others are out there? How many are of children?

Why is there so little outcry?

The airport is a sexually hostile environment and mandated as such by the Federal government.

Through the Window, From My Branch

Photobucket
I am beginning to feel the poltergeist around here.

This is not the first time I have haunted, nor is it the first place I have haunted. But it is the first time I have haunted This place.

As some of you may know, I have been around Redstate a long time. Even preceding Leon by a few weeks, if I recall correctly. Despite this and the diaries I have written and the likely thousands of comments I have posted over the years, I have never truly been a member. I have ever been on my branch, looking into the house that is Redstate. Such I have ever been wherever I have gone. Some few have occasionally left a bread crust on the window sill nearest my branch and I have deigned or not deigned (or just been flying elsewhere at the time) to partake of the gift. Yes. I know my choice of words there speaks volumes of exactly why I am forever apart. That is me and it is my choice.

But this diary was not meant to be about me. Rather it is on the family that is the Redstate community; even the old grouches like Moe Lane. I saw Redstate when it was new and Erick Erickson was not yet a young family man trying to lead that family and improve its house as best he could with all the help of his brothers and sisters and extended family of the time; when the progenitors were still regular contributors. I watched happily as new faces joined the family. I was saddened as others passed or moved out and my feathers refused to lay flat at times of hardship within the family. This is not the first bit of strife Redstate has been through. Nor will it be the last.

This is not even the loudest bit of strife. Many have been the times where the noise of tantrums and arguments have passed through the panes of my window and disturbed me on my branch. Occasionally, these resulted in one or two persons slamming the door on their way out. Sometimes only to slip, sheepishly, back in through the kitchen.

This time, however, there was no explosion of noise. No loud arguments or tantrums. No out and out fist fights. Not sharing the table or the couch, I missed completely the daggered glances and snide remarks and cheap shots. I did see and commented on occasion on the changes in demeanor of some few I knew, when they occurred within the confined view of my window. I did not understand what was going on; did not comprehend why formerly cheerful, friendly people were saying such things in such anger.

And then I turned my back. But for a mere moment as I had gone on a trip and had no internet for a weekend. When I looked back in, nearly every face that I knew was gone. Yes, many I had seen leave over the years. But this was a sudden disappearance of many. So many, in fact, that I had no idea some of them were even gone until today. And those few who are left…

I read what they write and it is as if they are stooped and tired with age. Much of the light and joy is missing in their words that once I took for granted. It is as though I missed twenty or thirty years in an eyeblink. I am here, much as I remember being but everyone around me has changed. Changed in style, changed in appearance, changed their (user)names as often as not. And there are so many I do not know. So many even on the Frontpage that I do not recall ever reading word one of theirs from the diaries.

Redstate is the same beautiful house. The family is still loud and boisterous. Still full of hope and vigor, though tempered now by sorrow and hard decisions on the part of the Head of the Household. Perhaps, in time, those aged so much by this trouble will even regain some of what they lost.

I look forward to getting to know the new members of this family and their points of view. And I hope that those thrown out of the house will use it to their advantage and become greater than they could have otherwise, and yet still remember that they Are members of this family and think back on their time in this house with fondness.

As for me, I will always be here. Till the house falls from disrepair. Perhaps even after that. And I look forward to learning the different tastes in bread held by those kind enough to leave a crust on my sill…

US Dhimmi Army

In the US Army, Christians can not mark their gear with crosses and are being threatened with the removal of crosses from Arlington; Jews can not wear their yamakas; Buddhists can not wear robes; Hindi can not wear their dots; no one is allowed a beard; and no male can have long hair.  The uniform standards are spelled out in Army Regulation 670-1 and all are expected to abide by them.

…Except Muslim officers, it would seem. Capt. Kamaljeet Singh Kalsi, a doctor and Sikh, has been allowed by the US Army to serve without cutting his hair, shaving his beard, or removing his turban while in uniform, according to the NYTwits. The Rest of us must continue to meet the standards of uniform wear and appearance, but not him.

General Farrisee, speaking on behalf of the Army, said such issues are decided on a case by case basis depending on factors such as “unit cohesion, morale, discipline, safety and/or health.”

Unit cohesion will be served greatly, singling this man out as special as an activist Muslim even while in uniform. Morale? Discipline? He’s been singled out by the DoD for special treatment. Furthermore, how long till members of his unit start refusing to cut Their hair or beards and wearing headgear not in keeping with Army regs? Safety and health? I don’t know that I have Ever seen a doctor with a full beard or long hair. Would that not provide a hygiene hazard to the patients? The NYTwits don’t make it clear what this man’s specialty is. A hair dropped in the abdominal cavity of a surgical patient can be quite a problem. Will he be required to wear a hairnet while treating patients? He’s an officer. How will he expect to have any respect or authority over enlisted personnel wearing a hairnet over his face?

The Sikh Coalition and Congress both seem to believe that a full change in policy providing an exception for Sikhs in AR 670-1 will be made, with Congress writing a letter to Secretary of Defense Robert Gates that stated “We do not believe that any American should have to choose between his religion and service to our country.”

Call your Congressmen and senators now. This travesty can still be reversed.

Some Sad News

A great man died last night.  Probably none of you know him or of him.  Like so many others, he accomplished great things quietly.  I never met him, myself, don’t even know his name, to be honest, but he was extremely important to my life and the lives of many others who know me and mine.  As I write this, I am crying for the loss of someone to whom I had no direct connection and never thought about until today.  But I find in the hours after his death, that I owe him so much.

You see, he was my wife’s grandfather.  He was responsible for her ever coming to the USA in the first place.
Photobucket Photobucket

Her parent’s were well off for Vietnamese citizens.  Upper-middle class, even.  They could afford a concrete floor and even a refrigerator and television set, rare luxuries at the time.  And they busted their backs to provide them for their family.  But to provide travel from Ho Chi Minh City to the USA?  Never in their lifetimes.  The best they could hope is that their son, my brother in law, would be able to bring His family over in time.  But for the daughters, nothing.

in 1993, however, that changed.  My father in law’s father had come across many years before.  During the evacuation, I believe, and set himself up as a successful restaurant owner.  Over the years, he brought many of his family to the USA for their chance at gaining riches and freedom.  In ’93, it was my wife’s family’s turn.  The youngest son, my father in law, never lived up to the riches part, never owned his own business and quite literally worked himself to death to provide for his children.  Again, a man very important to me that I never got to meet.  He died shortly after I met my wife.

Even in death, without ever meeting his future son in law, my father in law did me one last service.  My wife and I had dated for a short time shortly after meeting, but broken up.  It was her father’s death that sent her back to me as her only source of comfort and the only person not placing demands on her.  The oldest child and a daughter with a mother who spoke no English, it was her job to assume her father’s role in his absence.  No time for herself, no compassion from her family for her.  No consideration of what she may need or want.  That is the Vietnamese culture.
Photobucket Photobucket

My wife has gone from a girl not only unwilling but fundamentally incapable of thinking of herself to a strong, vibrant personality that affects all those around her.  Not with a careful nudge from the shadows where no one would pay her attention. Not in the manner that a proper Vietnamese woman should. But instead by walking in full view, in front of those who would previously have ignored her, Commanding their attention with her mere presence, melting the coldest of them with no more than a smile.  Winning the love of those who’d forgotten what that was.

And none of it, not one little bit of any of it would have been possible but for the man who died last night.  All of us whose lives have been enriched by her and by her sisters and brother, would have been far less without this man whose name we don’t even know.  There is tragedy in that.  There was a great man, a hero, who died without ever expecting anyone to know what he’d done for them.  Without even knowing himself, in all likelihood, what he did for us.
He was a true American hero, whether he knew it or not.

The Coming “Boob-Quake”

Last week, one of the Mullahs in Iran declared that the recent spate of natural disasters was due to women being scantily clad and promiscuous.

“Many women who do not dress modestly lead young men astray and spread adultery in society which increases earthquakes,”

Yeah, yeah, par for the course from those people.

Then a college student in Indiana took offense. Again, par for the course. What’s new is, she wrote on her blog that on Monday she was going to dress as scantily as possible and convince as many other chicks to do the same to test this theory.
And, there seems to be some support for the idea…

“Time for a Boobquake,” she wrote. “On Monday, April 26, I will wear the most cleavage-showing shirt I own. … I encourage other female skeptics to join me and embrace the supposed supernatural power of their breasts. Or short shorts, if that’s your preferred form of immodesty.”

She continued, “With the power of our scandalous bodies combined, we should surely produce an earthquake. If not, I’m sure [Sadeghi] can come up with a rational explanation for why the ground didn’t rumble.”

So get ready, everyone. There’s going to be a “boob-quake” or, perhaps, a “boob-canic eruption” on Monday.

Maybe…

Now, of course, me being a guy who doesn’t ascribe to the Mullah’s theory, I rather encourage participation in this effort amongst the better looking half of the US population.

…I wonder if it will have any effect on Global Warming…

This Actually Made MSNBC

Can you believe it?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34714389/ns/us_news-life/page/1/

Record numbers now licensed to pack heat
Firearms deaths fall as millions obtain permits to carry concealed guns

And they even seem to have done a pretty fair job of it.  Excusing, of course, the fact that they refused to compare the data of an overall falling crime rate versus overal increasing gun ownership.

More than that, their choice of quotes from Rand of the Violence Policy Center and members of the Brady Campaign made those people look like they were getting their backsides handed to them in the fight.  That said, I still think they were the quotes that made them Least look like fools.

I am a particularly big fan of the little widget thing they have where you can see the progression of “Shall Issue” states across the country.
Interestingly, Alaska, which has never had any restrictions on gun ownership or carrying, was listed as a “No Issue” state until the early ’90s.

And while I have to reluctantly agree that the “Universal Reciprocity” law, under which every state would be forced to accept a CCW from every other state, would be harmful to state sovereignty and rights and therefor should be opposed, I also completely understand and agree with Alan Gottlieb and Andrew Arulanandam that gun control activists who are making that very point about That law, had no such worries or cares about such legislation as the Brady Laws.
Still, count me opposed to it.  Both “its”.  Brady can go away, if you please.

Also of note, was the mention of increasing rates of licensing since ’06.  A little research and you might note that it specifically picked up in November ’06 and outright skyrocketed last year.  A skyrocketing of which I am proud to say my 1911 and I were a part.  Were you?

The Right to Slavery

In the movie Dead Poets Society, a teacher educates his students in Freedom. His most poignant lesson on the subject is when he takes the class to the courtyard and instructs them to walk. Any speed, any direction, any rythm, any way they wished. They had the freedom to decide for themselves. So they did.
Barely beginning to understand the concept of freedom, the students walk. Some fast, some slow, some walk straight, others zig-zag, one side-steps. But one student does not. He leans against a pillar and does not walk. The teacher notices this and asks what he’s doing.
“Exercising my right not to walk.”
He is the first of the students to learn the lesson. It is a lesson this nation seems to have forgotten.

For the last several months, the Senate and House have been debating a bill that would radically alter the healthcare industry. The basic idea of the bill is to provide health care to all Americans by making sure all Americans have health insurance. On the face of it, this seems a laudable goal. Especialy if you believe, as many do, that Americans have a Right to healthcare.

Alas, such a “Right” mandates slavery. Too strong a word? Finish reading and then decide.
A part of this slavery is central to this healthcare bill. The bill includes the requirement that all Americans purchase health insurance. That to Not have health insurance, an American would be subject to fines and imprisonment. In the words of our Founders: “Forfeiture of property and liberty.” For Not purchasing something. They could just as well send you to jail for Not purchasing a car. Doesn’t matter if you can afford it, or if you feel you don’t need it, or maybe you think you have the cash on hand to deal with even the most extreme potential consequences of not having it. Fines and jail time.
Without this requirement, this bill can not go forward. The system it imposes will collapse upon itself instantly. It is impossible to implement. This, according to the bill’s own supporters. The healthcare industry is incapable of financially supporting the other mandates in the bill without a vastly increased pool of healthy individuals paying into the system.

Of course, this being the government, it does not stop there.
For there to be a “Right to Healthcare,” there must be a definition of just what Level of care is guaranteed. A difficult enough proposition by itself. One made more so by the need to guarantee enough medical personnel to Provide that guaranteed level of care.

And here we come to the crux of the matter. Already we face a shortage of doctors and nurses. it is immensely prohibitive, financially and temporally (costly in time, for those of you not using my thesaurus), to become a licensed medical professional. And new government mandates and rising malpractice insurance costs make profiting as a medical professional difficult, at best. So how do we guarantee there will be enough people in the field to provide the guaranteed level of care? How can we provide this “Right?”
Trusting in the populace is chancy. With high entry costs and questionable profit, the Free Market cannot make any guarantee in this industry. And there are never enough altruists. So whatare we left with when both love and money fail?
There is but one choice left: Slavery. Complete and total slavery. From the cradle to the grave. To provide any such “Right” to Any good or service, the government must force people into the industry of producing it. The government must also force its subjects to purchase, to use or consume, that good or service or the system will collapse.

For there to be a “Right to healthcare,” you can not be allowed to refuse to purchase insurance. For there to be a “Right to healthcare,” you can not be allowed to refuse to receive it, nor to provide it. When instructed to Walk, you can not be allowed to refuse.

Slavery, this is. Our government is trying to enslave us.

The Manhattan Declaration

h/t Gamecock
There is a slowly growing movement among the so-called “Religious Right” to call for civil disobedience to laws concerning the promotion of abortion, euthanasia, gay marriage, and “Hate Crimes” legislation.

This movement is centered on the “Manhattan Declaration” Drafted Oct 20th, 2009 after a meeting of religious leaders in NYC on September 28th, 2009. It was released on November 20th, 2009.

The money quote:

In this declaration we affirm:

1) the profound, inherent, and equal dignity of every human being as a creature fashioned in the very image of God, possessing inherent rights of equal dignity and life?

2) marriage as a conjugal union of man and woman, ordained by God from the creation, and

historically understood by believers and nonbelievers alike, to be the most basic institution in society and?

3) religious liberty, which is grounded in the character of God, the example of Christ, and the inherent freedom and dignity of human beings created in the divine image.

It is my plan to print out a copy and attach a signature page to it and get as many people as possible to sign it. Thereupon I will deliver a copy to every City Council Member and legislator that has offices in my county. In addition I will deliver a copy to the County Courthouse, sheriff and other local law enforcement departments, as well as my state’s National legislators and the State Supreme Court.

I hope you will do the same, or at least bring this post to the attention of someone who will in your area.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

“You’ll change your tune.”

There are a lot of people saying that these days.

“Oh, you support the war.  Well, you’ll change your mind when you lose someone over there.”

“When you lose a family-member, you won’t be so sure about the war.”

Really?  And what of the thousands upon thousands of people who actually Have lost their sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, husbands or wives in Iraq or Afghanistan who Haven’t changed their minds?  What of American Gold Star Mothers, Inc. which wholeheartedly supports the efforts their children took part in?  What about the Rest of Casey Sheehan’s family?  The part that disowned Cindy because they believed she was dishonouring Casey’s memory?

They never seem to be remembered.  Not by the media, nor by the politicians, and certainly not by the average person out there saying that we should surrender; that we should take a dive.

Nor do they remember that the vast majority of enlistees in the US Armed Forces come from military families.  Their fathers or mothers and often their aunts or uncles have already served.  And so have the families of most of these brave men and women’s spouses.  They KNOW that their loved ones are risking their lives.  The UNDERSTAND that this risk is inherent to the job.  They ACCEPT that their loved ones could draw the short straw any second.  They hope against hope that it won’t happen, but they don’t lie to themselves and say that it can’t.

And what of the men and women who lose their lives or receive crippling injuries?  Everyone is quick to point out the survivors who change their minds.  But no one remembers those who want to take their prosthetic limbs and their wheelchairs back Into the fight.

No one seems to remember that everyone who “signed up for the money or the college education” that wasn’t willing to be part of a wartime military is gone and has been for 5 or 6 years now.  Their terms ended already.  These heroes who serve today, who risk their lives today, and these heroes who enlist every day still…  THEY know what they are getting into.  And God knows their families do too.

Some here on Redstate may remember that my wife is currently serving.  That she enlisted in the summer of ’06.  They may recall that I made some small mention that she had orders to deploy.
Well, she hit the ground this week.   I haven’t heard from her since she got on the plane on Sunday and I worry every minute.  But even with her there, my mind has not changed on this war.  Nor will it change if the worst is to happen.  My patience with people who do not support victory will change.  Has changed.  But my opinion on Victory will not.

Some fights absolutely MUST be fought.

This is one of them.

ALL fights, once begun, MUST be Finished.  Permanently.  We didn’t start this one and our surrender won’t end it.

With all that is happening domestically, it is easy to forget that we are a NATION AT WAR.  We can not afford to forget it.  Not any more than we can afford to lose the domestic, political battle.

Let us provide for our soldiers an America they can be proud to come home to.  And let us continue the fight that they may come home in Victory.

Falling Toward Apotheosis

Emperor Cartagia is insane.

Cartagia is the emperor of the Centauri, a major race of the television series Babylon 5. And he is quite mad. He has made a deal with the Shadows that will bring death and destruction upon his entire race in exchange for lifting him to Divine status. The end of the Centauri race just to make their emperor a God.

Last year, during the Presidential campaign, we began to suspect that select members of the Media and of the Government were insane. They sought apotheosis for their leader, Barack Obama, who was more than willing to be elevated. We saw their blind devotion to him. We watched as thrills went up their legs. We all saw the painting of Obama walking through a field of flowers wearing a halo. We still see his face painted on signs carried by his devotees.

ObamaObama sign

With the recent controversy of the Department of Education’s “What can I do to help my president?” recommended work for students to be done immediately following his speech to them and the videos of teachers making their child students sing Obama’s praises and now this:

We are now faced with a terrible realization.

Barack Obama is the President of the United States of America.  And his followers are quite mad.

They have made a deal with criminals and terrorists and dictators that will bring death and destruction upon their nation and her allies in exchange for elevating their Lord and Master to the Divine.  The end of America to make a former Senator a God.  And he is allowing, and even encouraging, this.

On a lighter note: ZOMBIES!

The University of Florida, like all schools and most other organizations, has Emergency Plans for all kinds of situations. Hurricane Evacuation, Pandemic, a shooting on campus, zombie attack. You know the usual.

Well, the zombie attack isn’t normal for Most organizations. Seems UF is the only semi-rational group with a Zombie Emergency Plan. And their plan even takes the possibility of the attack seriously. Well, mostly. The “Infected Coworker Dispatch Form,” while mostly appearing serious about an incident in which an employee of the school is forced to eliminate a zombified coworker has some not so serious bits. Like on the list of symptoms “Recently Dead but Moving Again.”

Some of the plan is even familiar to students. How to defend your dormroom against zombies reads much like the school’s Emergency Plan for Panty Raids, written after a historic panty raid that caught national attention in 1952 (mentioned on their “Historic Campus” website). However, the plan includes no sign that the school intends to cancel classes in the event of a zombie infestation.

Unfortunately, after the plan, written in June of this year, caught media attention (and also here), the school administration announced it was a joke and took it down.

Counter Protest Ignored During Tea Party

Even by the media.

In Johnstown, PA last night, the Tea Party Express made another stop.  I was there for most of it, but had to leave early in the actual Tea Party Express presentation because, due to a traffic accident, they were 2 hours late and I had dogs to take care of.

However, while we were waiting for them to show up, we had a good time and a good protest, and most everybody stayed around the extra time for Kenneth Gladney and company to get there.  In that time, we had an hour or so of people from the crowd getting up and talking, telling their stories, including this wonderful speaker, a native of Kenya, who came to this country to escape what he says Obama is trying to do to This country.  Now that this gentleman has the right and the ability to fight against such policies, he has decided to do exactly that.  And, of course, myself.

Unfortunately, no one seems to have posted video or pics of it yet.

In any case, if you go back now to the first link above, you should watch the local news clip of the Tea Party Express Rally.  When they show the reporter standing across the street from the crowd the first time, there’s no one on the corner.  The next time, there are about 10 people, all holding colorful signs or unrolling a banner.  These signs said "Health Reform NOW" and "No American Should Be Without Healthcare"  This was the counter-protest.  And the news not only completely ignored them, but actually counted them as part of the Tea Party Rally…

If I knew any of the counter-protesters, I’d go and tell them thanks for swelling our numbers  by just that Tiny extra bit.  There were only about 500 of us.  Another 10 or 15 are Always welcome…

In Defense of Christianity, of America

Now, many of you who view the above video and read this blog entry may be familiar with Choson Ninja, the Youtube ninja instructor.  Some of you may even be away of the danger he presents within the martial arts community.  All of you, I’m sure, having read this far, are wondering why I am even bringing him up.

As I am sure you know, his martial arts “teaching” has no bearing on politics or on Christianity.
But this video attacking him does.  It is obvious the maker of this video has a personal issue with ChosonNinja.  No big deal.  Quite a few do.

However, the style of the attack, is also an attack on Christianity.  It perverts
a core teaching of that faith: That God will save the many on the merits of the few, as he proposed to do in the story of Abraham .
In the exchange quoted in the video, there are 2 others who suggest that the many should die
in spite of the few, and the few should perish with them.  Choson respectfully disagrees, but the video attacks him and his words saying that Choson suggests everyone But the few should die.

Now, again, why am I bringing this up?  This is just an inconsequential Youtube video.  Beneath notice.  In fact, it appears that the attack on Christianity made in this video is merely incidental.  That was not done on purpose.  This sort of thing happens every day.  It’s in our childrens’ textbooks, even.  So why post on here about it?  What’s the big deal?

The big deal is that it’s Not a big deal.  We have become so inured to it that when it happens, we barely register it.  We are so confident that Christianity is strong enough and Moral enough to overcome such assaults that we ignore them, for the most part.  We let them pass.  But how can it do so if we do not respond?  Who will learn the teachings of Christ or come to Him if there is no one to teach them?  And what will happen to America, this great land founded on the principals of Christ’s teachings when the people, by and large, do not know them?

I urge all of you to take time out of your busy days, just a few minutes, to notice these attacks and to object to them.  To Respectfully object to them.  Be aggressive, be forceful, but be respectful in your opposition to these attacks and your defense of Christianity and America.  They may not be one and the same, but they Are inextricably tied to one another.  America can not be, would never have been, America without Christianity.

The question has been asked many times:

“How do you defeat an idea?”

I have only ever
once heard the answer, in a movie and never in life:

“With another idea.”

Folks, the “Other Idea” has been presented.  It is constantly presented and has been throughout history.  It can only triumph if we fail to present Our idea.  Christ’s Idea.  The American Idea.  Ours is strong enough and moral enough in its own right to triumph if we but share it with others…

hey, um…  Where’s the “Preview” button gone to?

Episode V: The Headline Strikes Back

Just recently, over in Massachusetts

It is a dark time for Obamacare.  Although Darth Cheney has been removed,
Tea Party troops have driven Democrat forces from their hidden backrooms
and pursued them across the country.

Avoiding the dreaded Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy, a group of Liberals led by
Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid has established a bridge to die
on with the close to home policy of government control of healthcare.

The evil lord Darth Limbaugh, obsessed with stopping young Obama has
dispatched his supply of Rovian Mind Control Probes ™ into the far reaches
of Democratic decision making…
The headline in question?

Why, not too surprising considering Rush’s arsenal of Rovian devices:

Rush to fill Kennedy’s Senate seat

Push by Democrats

The Truth of the Abortion Debate

There is a problem with the abortion “Debate.”

Half the people arguing believe it is only a simple question of “When does life begin?”
Well, this is what it really should be. After all, if life has not begun, then the abortion is a simple medical procedure entirely up to the person getting it and her healthcare provider.
If life Has begun, then the abortion is murder. It is a homicide. And, considering the steps one must take to get an abortion (ANY abortion), it’s premeditated.

However, the other half of the “debaters” are arguing no such thing. They don’t care when life begins. Their position is that a mother can murder her children for any reason at any age. Thus, Partial Birth Abortions and the other extreme practices endorsed by that Party (it is an official Democrat Party position that abortions should not be restrained for any reason).
Partial Birth Abortions involve giving birth to the child either naturally or medically (C-Section), and, before the child is fully out of the womb, killing it in any number of ways. Even if you take the position that life does not begin Until birth, you must acknowledge that this procedure Is murder because the child Is born when it takes place.
Furthermore, the Dems have blocked on numerous occasions and challenged in court when they failed to block them, laws that require children who Survive abortions to receive medical care. Taking the position that a child who Survives an abortion and is wholly born can be legally murdered.

This is what we face with the debate. Forget entirely whether it’s good or not. That’s not the debate. Hasn’t been for decades, if it ever was.
The debate is “Can a mother legally murder her children at any age?”
