Becoming PCM & PCW in Florida

I have been silent on this issue because I wanted to make sure that we had no major distractions other than those reigned down on us in Florida by Jim Greer and Charlie Crist. The election of 2010 is past and the campaign for 2012 has begun.  While chairman John Thrasher has gone a long way to returning integrity and fairness to the RPOF, the fact is that there is a monumental cleanup that remains in the GOP in Florida.  Only you, the registered Republicans of Florida can make that happen.

I am a PCM in my county and finishing a stint on my Board.  I elected not to run for the board again because the Board in my County is floundering and I need to be separate to have the impact I know I can.  The RPOF, under Greer and Crist convinced the infrastructure that the Party needed to be run from the top down and they implemented schemes to make sure that happened.

As a result the REC in my county is irrelevant.  They do not understand their proper role and they have surrendered their role in selecting, vetting and supporting candidates to outside organizations.  They had implemented schemes to suppress participation (created by the leadership of Jim Greer) and they have been very effective at doing so.  That all changes this year.

The scheme in my county was a rule you had to attend 3 meetings before you could stand for elections a PC.  I researched this and found an opinion from the Attorney  Generals office in 1983 (Bill McCollum) and an appeals court decision that indicated to me this requirement is illegal under Florida Law. I set aboutchanging it in my county. Moderates and liberals have strong voice in my county.

After 9 months of lobbying and yes even threatening my Board, I brought the issue to the floor and we passed a new procedure to screen members.  Now, everyone gets a vote on their application to be a PC within one meeting cycle. However this is not the end.

In our REC, we have over 130 open PC slots. An opportunity is coming to fill these slots in this county and all others in Florida. It will take planning and diligence but conservatives can assert their presence if they start planning now.   In the presidential primary election of 2012, individuals can be elected on the ballot by the members of their community.  Start planning your campaign now.  Gather your forces to reassert the principles that made the GOP great in our party.  Start tomorrow.  If anyone would like help, please contact me at  nofanofhim@gmail.com.

Obamas Lead Blocker – Lawrence Lessig, Deflecting Blame For Failures of the One.

Its that pesky “fund raising” Congress.   All dependent on money to campaign for re-election, the addiction to money has driven the Congress into the arms of the evilllllllllllllllllllllll corporate interests.  This has led to stalemate and inaction on the agenda of  Barack Obama, the focus of Lawrence Lessig’s cultist aspirations all bound up in a “transformational President” who has lost his way. All because he has dialed back his march forward in his attempts to triangulate the reality of American cultural political beliefs.

Lessig, careful to re-iterate his worship of the One, now focuses on the Congress as a whole.   What you and I see as an instrument that stands as a barrier to the tyranny of the majority (their proclaimed “Progressive” , ne Marxist, Socialist, Communist agenda) depending on which side of Obama’s tree of worshippers you sit on. In Lessig’s own words:

We should remember what it felt like one year ago, as the ability to recall it emotionally will pass and it is an emotional memory as much as anything else. It was a moment rare in a democracy’s history. The feeling was palpable–to supporters and opponents alike–that something important had happened. America had elected, the young candidate promised, a transformational president. And wrapped in a campaign that had produced the biggest influx of new voters and small-dollar contributions in a generation, the claim seemed credible, almost intoxicating, and just in time.

Yet a year into the presidency of Barack Obama, it is already clear that this administration is an opportunity missed. Not because it is too conservative. Not because it is too liberal. But because it is too conventional. Obama has given up the rhetoric of his early campaign–a campaign that promised to “challenge the broken system in Washington” and to “fundamentally change the way Washington works.” Indeed, “fundamental change” is no longer even a hint.

No, it is not Democracy that has led to this stalemate, it is a corrupt and ineffective Congress.  Lessig rails about the corrupting influence of the millions of dollars the Congress takes from interests they have to preside over.  Funny though, he cannot connect the same dots to the $650 million dollars poured into the Obama campaign by every leftist constituency and Union existant in the U.S..  He strains credulity by ignoring the millions, no hundreds of millions poured into Obama’s campaign by George Soros and his gang and the Unions (albeit in small amounts). Not very astute reasoning from a Harvard Law Professor, but then, that is something you rarely find from any Professor these days.

Do not be mislead by the attempt by Lessig to deflect attention for the failures of Obama. At his new cause “Fix Congress First“. He is clearly leading the charge to try to clear the field for his hero – the “transformational” One.  Since they are so incompetent at governing, Lessig wants to drag the disaffected left that has lost faith in the One onto another front where they will either fight another important battle tearing apart the very constitutional structures that protect us from tyranny or at least be distracted enough in that fight to become less of a threat to the One himself.  It is truly Socialist theater on a grand scale.

The left is desperately holding onto the dream that their erosion of liberty and critical thinking skills imposed through academia and “community organizing” had finally brought them to the tipping point that is their holy grail.  Their frustration is papable, but their discipline is to be admired.  They are not giving up, they are just redesigning the battle mid stream in order to try to distract the rest of us into thinking they have retreated into their typical somnambulism.

Even more laughable is Lessig’s approach.  What is it you say?  He wants to call a Constitutional Convention to bring forth the necessary amendments to “reform the Constitution”.  Most specifically, this one amendment that re-instates the letter and spirit of McCain Feingold and, oh, places oversight of matters specifically related to campaign speech into the hands of and “independent commission” (perhaps one formed by Obama’s Executive Order, like the Fiscal Responsibility Commission he is in the process of organizing?).  It is so nice when elitists want to unburden us from having to understand our liberties and our responsibilities in preserving and protecting them,  While the Tea Party movement calls for a return to “Constitutional Government” , Lessig attempts to de-legitimize that very same Constitution.  All to preserve an advantage they think Obama made exclusive to Democrat politics, the ability to capture millions of small donors. If you are shocked or surprised, you just have not been paying attention.

They are returning to their <b>revolutionary roots</b> in order to refresh their preferred <b>evolutionary process</b> towards the de-construction, destruction and elimination of all those pesky freedoms laid bare by Jefferson, Madison, Adams et al.  What they seek is total excavation of the premises underpinning the document that has been the single most powerful disinfectant against tyranny ever revealed in the history of man.  You just cannot get to  (the) One(‘s) World Government Nirvana any other way, they know it.  They will do it any way they can, subtly, slowly, evolutionary, revolutionary, seemingly legitimately, if they can.  Their goal, in and of itself makes their passion and mission illegitimate in all respects.  They will take the one amendment, and any of the others that fosters their vision,  that may magically appear from a Constitutional Convention, although I cannot believe they really believe it other than a fools errand for themselves at this time.  That has never stopped them before, but it seems as rather tilting at windmills or desperate distraction otherwise.  In one last clue to his bias in the matter, he states the amendments are needed to “insure that reform survives the Roberts Court”.

This change requires extra vigilance on the part of conservatives and constitutionalists everywhere.  Fueld by desperation, if this new strategy should fail them, how far behind it can a return to the violence of the romanticized revolution so addicting to the likes of Bill Ayers?

An Open Warning To All Conservatives, Big Sister Is Watching

Ever since the election, I have been writing, here, in comments and on my blog.  I started my blog right after the election in November.  I have not been real active on my blog of late, I have been deeply involved in some political activities in other venues.

Tonight, I was looking at the logs on my server and I ran across an entry for a visit and it had an address I could trace back so I decided to check this one entry out.  It sent a chill down my spine until I remembered who we are dealing with (Janet Napolitano).

I visited the site at riverglass.com.   Their description of their business model is thus:

RiverGlass is a software-based solution for government and business that finds and delivers information culled from expansive and diverse sources, wherever it exists — from internal communications via company Intranets and among diverse agencies, to news feeds, subscription services, websites and Internet user groups. Additionally, RiverGlass data analytics get smarter over time, refining search parameters according to positive results, thereby continuously delivering crucial, relevant data specific to your unique criteria.

Certainly Interested, I visited the “Products” page.  Here, they clarify:

Governmental agencies and businesses face three major challenges in acquiring information: extensive, irrelevant information in search results; impossibility of knowing the best places to look for information; and an infinite need for new information and insights. RiverGlass technology continuously scours the Internet or enterprise intranet to discover new information relevant to your needs:

In other words they find and create interesting threads for government analysts to ponder.  Further down the page, they expound:

Threat Mitigation: monitoring activities of groups intending harm to corporate or public assets and keeping abreast of socio-political happenings in locales of strategic importance

How do they deliver value?  By assisting analysts in assessing the meaning of the text.

…any particular analyst or knowledge worker has not just one but perhaps hundreds of persistent information needs and many of these information needs cannot be simply characterized by some small number of keywords.

Further, they have a proprietary method of statistically analyzing text to extract Points of meaning :

complex meaning extraction, the statistical approach has some limitations — it essentially treats natural language texts as sequences of words, but doesn’t have a knowledge model of what these words actually mean. These statistical tricks can be effective, but at their core they are tricks to approximate the extraction of meaning, and are subject to some fundamental limitations relating to polysemy (words can have multiple different word senses) and to the variety of ways in which natural language can express meaning. Some hybrid approaches employ the syntax of sentences, which can provide some contextual clues, but syntax is not semantics — and there is no attempt to get at the actual meaning expressed in such natural language texts.

More elaboration:

The thesis of OntoSem is that interpreting the meanings of textual units is really feasible only in the presence of a detailed world model whose elements are triggered (directly or indirectly, individually or in combinations) by the appearance in the input text of various textual units whose lexicon entries contain pointers to certain ontological concepts.

Enthralled now, I investigated further and found how they serve government specifically by spying on U.S. citizens:

The most critical issue facing intelligence operations is keeping pace with the continuous generation of new, disparate and obscure data. Tools that continuously analyze and automatically connect incoming data to open investigations are a necessity for intelligence-led security and policing.

It gets even better:

RiverGlass and the Statewide Terrorism Intelligence Center (STIC) of the Illinois State Police (those ones from Dear Leaders Homestate) have jointly developed a suite of tools tailored to the specific needs of analysts working in a fusion center environment.

In case the term “fusion center ” strikes a chord, let me refresh your memory, the Fusion Center in Missouri (MIAC) was the source of the infamous memo casting disgruntled ex-military, anti-abortion activists, and “anti-immigration activists” and angry white republicans in general  as “potential” homegrown terrorists.

To encapsulate the purpose, in their own words:

Automatically seek out and monitor websites that relate to criminal investigations or other intel needs. Information posted to the internet from diverse sources like CNN, MSNBC, Southern Poverty Law Center, the Anti-Defamation League, and Department of Justice, as well as sites that post threatening or criminal content is critical to effective data analysis.

So, after a thoroughly entertaining hour reading up on them, I went back through all my logs in the last year.  Yep, they visit every month.  I have also had some visits from Centcom (Miami & Iraq) and visits from some other military posts (security gates) whom I assumed came to look at at a salutory post I made to all our warriors and to one specific fallen warrior who happened to be a friend of one of the regular contributors here.

So all the mea culpa’s from Janet Napolitano aside, DHS is still hot on the trail of me, and I sure a great many of you here at Redstate.  I have only two hopes:

  • That most of their math genius’s are not late of the Wall Street derivatives market.
  • That their programmers are not late of Phil Jones office at HADCRU.

Oh, and they were not the only one, see this link .

In case you are wondering what is so interesting to them, see my blog:  The41stVote .

I do have a sense of irony though, for you geeks out there, look at the source for this page and note the “alt text” tags I put on the links in here.  That should give you a chuckle.  I would also encourage all of you here that run a blog on you server to look for these guys.  They will show up as and entry such as:

Happy hunting.

Not One Red Dime For Dede Scozzofava’s Campaign Machine

I received the standard plea today form Chairman Steele to renew my membership and contribute for the upcoming state elections.  This was the letter I returned to him in the postage paid envelope.

October 23, 2009
Mr. Michale Steele
Chairman
The Republican National Committee
300 First Street SE
Washington, DC 20077

Dear Chairman Steele,

As you will note, there is no financial contribution in the enclosed envelope with my updated membership information. This is because I refuse to give to the national party and see my money used to disrupt state primaries or used to elect far left leaning liberals like Dede Scozzofava who also seem to have very seedy connections as well.

I give to the conservatives of my choice. So far this year, my giving has amounted to over (sum) in in-kind service to the local party for technical skills and over (sum) in cash to the local party and to Candidates like:

    Marco Rubio’s Senatorial Campaign
    Sarah Palin’s PAC
    Michelle Bachman’s PAC
    Michael Williams PAC

I anticipate my giving will range to (sum) in cash next year and another (sum) in in-kind service.

I will not give One Red Dime to the RNC, NRCC or or the NRSC this year or next. Instead I will select which candidates best uphold the traditions of conservatism.

I read a quoted response from an unnamed GOP staffer on Politico yesterday regarding the parties, disastrous and foolish backing of Ded (not a typo, misspelled adjective) Scozzofava. When asked whether the party would continue to back her given the disastrous polls, the negative news about her campaign expenses to a relative and the overwhelming support Mr. Hoffman has attracted from the Conservative base. He said:

“We are dealing in data, not hopes and dreams”

No doubt, he represents the thinking within the GOP National Organization as a whole. I will tell you that I consider this cancer to be killing the party and any hope we have as a party of retaking the Senate and Congress. Your leadership has done nothing to create a vision of strength through principle. The tunnel visioned, tin-eared individuals controlling the party wish instead to cling to polls and focus groups. You will never be able to lead us to victory this way. It is my fervent belief that the party would be better served if you and the leadership you have installed all resigned.

I remain a loyal Republican. I am a member of the Local REC. It does not mean I will stand by while fools lead me to destruction.  I know they are well-intentioned, but so was Custer. I will tell you that we here in Florida, will elect Marco Rubio and not Charlie Crist because:

  • He is Barack Obama’s favorite Republican (Obama’s words)

  • He believes in Man Made Global Warming and the need for Cap & Tax (his words)

  • He supported the incredibly wasteful non-stimulus so he could get a hug from Obama.

  • He raised taxes and fees over $ 2.0 billion dollars on Floridians in the midst of the deepest recession in over 30 years. No doubt he will do the same if we send him to Washington.
  • The sock-puppet (George LeMieux) he appointed to replace Mel Martinez placed a hold on legislation to drill offshore and then had the gall to tell us here that “the military is against it because it would interfere in training”. I am insulted that he thinks I am this stupid that he can use a bald faced lie to promote Charlie Crist’s backward agenda. Since when did we turn over the formulation of energy policy to the Military?
  • Charlie Crist is for the Public Option. No not health care, not yet. He implemented the Public Option for homeowners insurance here in Florida and in just 2 short years has driven a great many insurers out of the market and saddled the citizens of Florida with an estimated $30-40 billion dollar liability as the largest re-insurer in the State.

No, we will not vote to send Charlie Crist to Washington. We cannot afford to do so.
Please Chairman Steele. I have every wish to see the GOP returned to its status as an entity capable of checking the outrageous Socialist agenda now being foisted on us. Without strong leadership and a clear vision of the freedoms premise based on the exceptionalism of America and the individual,  we will have a very difficult time doing so. We may also lose the country in the meantime.

Maybe if they start getting 10-20 thousand similar letters a week between now and November 5th we can get them back focused on principle.  I doubt it, be we must try.

“We’re In A Fight To The Death”…Populists Versus Elites, The Battle Of Sarah Palin

Cross posted at http://www.sjcgopnw.com
Fight to the death?  Do you feel as if the country is at stake.  Many of us do.  For many years now we have stood by and watched as elitists, from both parties have driven us over the fiscal cliff and eroded our liberties drip by tortuous drip.  We are in a fight to the death.  It is why I am where I am today, in the trenches, spending 20 plus hours a week helping to build a technology platform for my county party to  take this fight right back into the face of the enemy.

I had never worked for a candidate before the 2008 elections.  I voted, gave what money I could and watched in silent rage  at what was happening to the country I love.  I actually had not planned on doing anything different to support John McCain.

Then… there was Sarah Palin.  The appointment of Sarah Palin, in a waking instant energized me to do more.  Not because I was afraid of the consequences of not doing anything, but it rekindled an optimism in me that someone of my values had a place, and the power to make the difference in the battle.  Sarah Palin, in an instant returned the focus from the elites in control of the ruling parties back to the grassroots.  We can make a difference, we will make a difference.

It is for this reason that Sarah Palin has been so viciously attacked from both within, and without the GOP.  She is the single largest threat to the status quo. Not because she can win the Presidency, because she is a game changer in the equation revolving around the balance of power among different clans of elites.  A tipping point, the likes of which we have not seen in many years.

George Soros financed minions have attacked her from a legal perspective in the law, exploiting loopholes in well intended laws in the State of Alaska.  They have abused the system in no small measure while the power structure in our party has stood by as she flounders in the waves hoping for the same outcome as the liberals that fear her as their one last obstacle.

I do not know if Sarah Palin will run or not in 2012.  I do not even know if she can win.  I do know that she is real and of the same working stock as all of us that have become activist since November.  The same solid stock that created the grand experiment we call our own. For that, I will fight till my last breath.  So my children and yours will know that great things are possible from anyone, just as is the most vile treachery.  It is our children I worry about and our legacy as stewards of the liberty delivered upon a sea of blood, which has been granted as their birthright.

America is the freak of history.  All common people who walked before Americans were enslaved.  History has risen from the ashes of each succeeding struggle to obtain the holy grail of liberty based on the grants of the creator.  It took a small core of people, committed in their hearts and minds that the time was right, that the common man’s time had come to deliver that promise.

Sarah Palin represents the spark of that synthesis of commitment we need to carry on that fight.  That is the good news.  The bad news is that fight will never end.  Thomas Jefferson said:

“All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.”

It was his ultimate warning that we would never be able to rest from the protection of the most precious thing we have achieved after the very long, very bloody struggles of men and women like William Wallace, Joseph WarrenSullivan Ballou Deborah Sampson , Emily and the thousands and millions that followed,  all inexorably bound to the ownership of the grant of liberty.

If you are too busy, to vote…you have no right to complain.

If you are too busy to educate yourself on the Constitution which cemented your natural rights…you have no right to complain.

If you are too busy to offer of your time to your country…you have no right to complain.

If you do not have the time or money to support the party and candidates that offer the best hope of maintaining your freedom and prosperity…you have no right to complain.

Soon, If you have to no time or money for any of these…you have no rights.

The attacks on Sarah Palin are not about her in the end.  They are attacks against your children’s aspirations and the thin vines of liberty to which they cling and the responsibility for watering those vines falls to you.

Watch this video from Bill Whittle to understand this better.  Finally, come join us.  Everyone has some talent to make a difference, even if it just making the coffee. All of us, together can overcome whatever we face, divided we will fall into an abyss of hopelessness.  Commit yourself to whatever you can.  It may be outside your comfort zone, it may be an inconvenience, it may be exhilarating, it may be full of fear.  It will be all these things and one more….it will be your only respite from the fear of letting the those vines die.

What Next For Sarah Palin?

Cross posted at the 41st Vote.

Sarah Palin’s shocking announcement today that she would not seek re-election as Governor and that she would be stepping down effective July 26th will trigger a firestorm of speculation and attacks, it already has.  Her stated reasons for leaving the Governorship early, to “pass the ball for victory” seems somewhat hollow given her popularity in Alaska.  Already, liberal pundit, Larry Sabato has announced on Fox, that the move is “political suicide” and that the GOP would not dare nominate her as they might risk a “landslide” loss in 2012.

Liberals have attacked her as dense and shallow since her nomination as the GOP candidate for Vice President.  GOP operatives, many former associates of Mitt Romney have attacked her ( in a cowardly, anonymous fashion) many speculate, to diminish her standing in the GOP at large.  If anything, it has steeled her supporters against these sorts of attacks and increased the public empathy that attaches to her.

Examine the move closely and you may see some very shrewd thinking revealed in her decision.  There are several reasons this can benefit her tremendously as she moves towards a decision on whether or not to seek the Presidency in 2012 or 2016.  The left has been attacking her relentlessly with frivolous and baseless  ethics complaint filings since the end of the election (many financed by George Soros connected entities).  Those ferocious attacks expose the terror the left feels at her potential to capture the imagination of not only the GOP base but the women’s votes at large.  She will immediately remove the distraction of the legal burden of fighting harassing, baseless accusations associated with the frivolous (not one has been substantiated) legal proceedings.  It also frees her up to attack the Obama agenda, as a private citizen and conservative icon, while removing the people of Alaska from the cross-hairs of the Obama Administration.

Remember, Obama had to unleash a relentless attack on Hillary Clinton that was extremely risky for him.   His popularity overcame a great deal of animosity that was raised among Democrats supportive of Hillary Clinton.  A great many of those same Clinton supporters then latched on to Sarah Palin, despite differences in ideology, because of the mean-spirited and vicious attacks they perceived were portrayed against not only Hillary Clinton, but women in general.  She came to represent to dreams and aspirations of women, Democrat and Republican alike.  The attack machine of the Democrat Party will go into high gear now against Sarah Palin.  They will have three years to try to make Sarah Palin look foolish, unintelligent and not up to the task.  Take notice of the ferocity of the attacks.  The more intense they are, will signal just how terrified afraid they are of a Palin candidacy.  Now that Obama looks foolish, unintelligent and not up to the task, that is not likely to work very well for them.

Palin, on the other hand, will have an open field to criticize (along with most everyone else) the missteps of the Obama administration in handling Foreign Affairs and the economy.  She will have the high ground on both, because she leaves Alaska in sound fiscal condition, having cut spending, to balance the budget and having a treasury still bringing in a surplus of revenues, and not a broadening wreckage of false promises, manhandling by petty tyrants and a seeming inability to grasp that some regimes are essentially evil and antagonistic to the existence of the United States.  She will have the virtue of hindsight on Obama’s growing record of Foreign Policy foolish missteps as fodder for her cannons, all the while being able to learn from his weakness and inexperience.

Recently, anonymous attacks from “former McCain staffers” continued the lies and criticisms emerging from the same sources immediately after the election.  It is reasonable to expect incompetents to try to expel their responsibilities and transfer them to someone else, particularly if they can advance the agenda of whom they hope for their next paying campaign position.  Only the old line gang desperate to retain the old order will be foolish enough to try.  The party is in a rebuilding stage from the ground up.  The moves at the top of the GOP are seen as clown dancing.  The real moves are happening at the county and state level where the grassroots is subsuming the old order to the new structure that will emerge, slowly, quietly and forcefully to cast aside the tsunami of weak, squishy interlopers that keep harping that the party must change and “broaden” its base if it is to survive.

The GOP will broaden it’s base…all thanks to Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.   The American Public is starting to feel real pangs of buyers remorse over the moves of this Democrat administrations radical push to completely remake the American Experience…all at their burden and on their dime (quickly growing into trillions of dollars of slavery for our children and grand-children).  They are the GOP’s most valuable campaign asset.  We only need to fight to prevent the total destruction of our way of life while their radical, statist agenda peels itself to reveal a Socialist agenda run amok on the tide of a financial tsunami  they brazenly and cynically embraced because “no crisis should ever be wasted (in advancing a Socialist agenda)”.  Democrats have a growing record of dismal results, seeming incompetence and weakening resolve in their own base to fight; all of which nourishes the GOP back from the dead.

Whether she runs or not, the attacks of the left will auger well for the GOP in both 2010 and 2012.  The public, already sympathetic to Governor Palin, will take this as an unwarranted, mean spirited vendetta by the pack of psychotics many of them are.

In the end, we will have to see if Sarah Palin will seek the nomination or not.  Whatever her decision, the GOP owes her a great debt now for being the only reason the 2008 election was not a total Jimmy Carter or George McGovern slaughter and giving the downtrodden base, a symbol of yes…Hope.  Her enmies may suffer euphoria intially.  I would warn them to beware of missunderestimating Mrs. Palin.  Governor Palin has shown herself much tougher and far more competent than the lot of them and seemingly resolute to bear any attack in service to her country.  I for one look forward to the next three years.  It is going to be so much fun!  Finally, who owns the news cycle today?  Shockingly, it is not the One.

Humor Alert – “The Goodes”

Mike Judge, creator of Bevis & Butthead and “King of the Hill” has created a new series aimed at deflating the Al Gore worshippng, tree hugging, insane among us called “The Goodes”. Just a quick blurb to set the stage:

“Director Mike Judge’s new animated television series “The Goode Family” is a send-up of a clan of environmentalists who live by the words “What would Al Gore do?” Gerald and Helen Goode want nothing more than to minimize their carbon footprint. They feed their dog, Che, only veggies (much to the pet’s dismay) and Mr. Goode dutifully separates sheets of toilet paper when his wife accidentally buys two-ply. And, of course, the family drives a hybrid”.

For years the looney’s have taken themselves far too seriously. It is time that we get a little activism fail like the following every week to give us all a chuckle and let these people release. We will all be healthier for it.  I for one am all for conserving oil so the people in the Middle east will have something to eat.  On the other hand, you cannot have a discussion with people who are delusional.  Maybe if we can get some of the fringe to laugh at themselves, we can break through and have a resonable dialogue. I really cannot wait to see Che.

Look for the show Wednesday at 9:00. Here is alink with the article. The Goodes.

Urgent – Waxman To Push Vote On Cap & Trade In Next Few Days.

Burn the phones contact all your net peeps. From http://resistnet.org. Wxman, who pulled this bill out of the sub-committee he had assigned ti to just last week and sensing thte bill is dying, is trying another end run around Republicans, time and common sense.

He wants a vote in the next 48 hours and the bill is not yet out of committee (his). This will not allow time for reasonable debate or even enough time for members, or the public to read the final bill. This bill will impose a “Global Warming Tax” that amnounts to $ 3,900.00 annually for every household.

Everytime you turn on a light swicth, turn on the A/C, wash your clothes, fill up your car, mow the grass, buy a shirt, play a round of golf….you will pay this tax…you get the picture. Can you really afford to do nothing. Burn the phones and Faxes. Contact every one in all your networks. This is the most important vote coming up in the next 2 months.

Unless you want to take money out of your pocket every day to send to Al Gore and Obama –

You can send contacts to appropriate member so Waxmans Committee here:

We need to be sure to allow opposing points of view on the debate of global warming instead of declaring “the argument is over”. There is quite enough evidence that global warming does not exist in the manner that has been indicated by its supporters. …

Next Big Theft Initiative For Dem’s Debuted Tonight On 60 Minutes

You have to admire the Marxists that are running the Democrat Party these days, their arrogance and imagination is huge.  You just have to accept that they think your stupid. Of course they have a willing accomplice in pusing the Statist agenda with CBS. But don’t go all “Right Wing Extremist” on them just yet.

Tonight on 60 minutes, they opened their attack on private “retirement plans” – 401k’s.  They trotted out a long line of sad stories about people who can no longer afford to retire because the big, bad evil bankers on Wall Street have also stolen their 401k’s. Their agenda is to fool you into turning over your private pension to the “government” czar who will be running the system and all will be well for you. You will be taken care of.  Its just an added “benefit” that they get to demonize the “bankers” once again. What are they gonna do about it, they are all government employees now.

This was just the attack to make you think that “private” accounts are a fools rush.  The plan will be rolled out later , but Representative George Miller (Marxist, CA) has been pushing a plan by the leftist economist Theresa Ghillarducci who’s plan will abolish private 401k’s and all will be well because you will turn over what is left in your account to the “government” in exchange for a “guaranteed” rate of return and a credit back to the value of your account as of say September 2008 (why not offer you that bribe, they will just print the money).  See Ghilarducci here on Democracy (Marxism) Now. Pay close attention starting at 6:15 in.

In case you have never investigated the Social In-Security sytem before now, you need to know that effective in 2011, based on declining revenues attributed to the recession,  the Social Security Trust Fund (lockbox, which is only a noun existing on paper as the politicians have spent every penny paid into it a long time ago), is broke. This from the mouths of the Social Security Administration itself.  No, not Medicare. That, ahem, “trust fund” (also a noun only existing on paper) will be broke no later than 2018.  Of course, they will make no mention of the local governments that opted out of Social Security only to find their workers fared much better under the privately managed retirment systems they crafted.

So, liberals (especially Marxist Liberals) are cooking up a scheme to cover up the Mother of all Ponzi Schemes, devised and promoted almost solely by Democrats for 70 years, by convincing you to turn over your private pension account in exchange for a “government guarantee“.

Now don’t you feel better knowing that the same people that brought you Social In-Security, Medicare, The Department of Education, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mack, TARP, TALF, Stimulus, Bailouts for Unions, Government (Census) Contracts for Acorn and the new General Motors are looking out for you.

We should all move to Argentina.  The government there, having also failed at all its Socialist schemes (not their fault really, Socialism just always FAILS) recently seized some of the pension funds of their citizens.  It was really simple and straightforward, , they just sent a letter to the banks that held them telling them that the accounts now “belonged” to the government.  At least they were honest in their treachery.  They showed complete disdain for their citizens, but at least they did not treat them as if they are stupid.  They just seized the funds because they did not think their population was stupid enough to “volunteer” them and they felt that “robbery” was the more honest approach (versus the favorite method of Bernie Madoff) to steal the hard earned money of their citizens. Now we are about to be out Madoffed by the Democrats once again.

Obama’s massive growth in government will be amassive failure, just like all the Socialism bundled in the Roosevelt New Deal.  The country is bankrupt and they are throwing every device and illegetimate scheme up in hopes of finding one that might buy them another decade before the collapse of the entire Ponzi. If it does not work, they reason, your head will be spinning so fast you will miss all the other devious devices they use to steal your freedom (they have to steal that, you have nothing else left to take).

Actually, combined with the massive new “tax” that the EPA will lay on us all to “regulate” the emission of C02, along with the massive new tax Waxman, Pelosi, Reid and Obama are going to impose on us because Al Gore said it is an imperative, will be the death of them yet, once you start paying those taxes, you will not have anything left to give (remember the $634 billion dollar down payment Obama wants on socialized health care too).  So don’t worry, be happy (fool).

So beware.  If you are pissed now, you ain’t seen nothing yet.  Get ready for massive TeaParties.  If you do not stop them now, there will be blood in the streets and that will be the attractive alternative.

USAService.org Is Now Back Up Michelle Is Issuing A Call To Serve.

The site was down all weekend.  It is now back up and Colin Powell, Barack and Michelle  have sent me an e-mail calling me to serve and asking me to watch the video at the site.  I wonder if they need more volunteers to host Bush Shoe Toss events?

Colin Powell Not A big Enough Draw, USAService.org Schedules Bush Shoe Toss to Drum Up Volunteers

Colin Powell, who had a press conference today announcing “his” new site, USA Service.org.  The site portends to be a site where Powell is “inviting” people to volunteer to “serve” their neighbors.  The site is  actually being run by Blue State Digital, the same shop that ran MYBarack Obama and now the Change.gov succeror to MYBO.

Cute, they had scheduled a “Bush Shoe Toss” and announced it on the site.  I wonder if Powell was going to throw out the first shoe?  See a copy of the page here.  They have taken it down. Maybe they were afraid that it might just PO a few Americans?

Colin Powell Is Now Officially (And Always Has Been..Is This Better?)A Tool Of Obama

Got a tweet today that Colin Powell was announcing the unveiling of http://www.usaservice.org

I looked at the site and decided to check the registrant. It tuns out that it is Blue State Digital.  This is the same shop running MYBO and Change.gov.  Obama is not happy with the 13 million e-mail addresses (mostly liberal), now he has to try to gather Republican (moderates..ne squishy) e-mails masquerading under the name of Colin Powell.

If Powell is so mad at us, why does’nt he just leave and go over to the dark side.  It is pretty duplicitous of him to offer up his name in such a covert manner.  No doubt they are going to collect these e-mails and use to pressure Congress to implement the Socialist agenda all in accordance with Rahm Emanuels dogma of using crisis to implement change.  I would think that Powell of all should realize that decisions made in crisis are far more subject to error.  If he wants to covertly assist in that, have to wonder where his allegiance lies.  Yeah I know this will be controversial.  He and the libs will scream. Maybe they were too naive to understand the import?

The Faith Of Warriors

cross posted at :http://www.the41stvote.org

As Americans, we take our many blessings for granted. Sure, many of us are worried about the economy, our jobs the course we are on. Thankfully, none of us fears a Foreign enemy. Yes I know we have to be diligent and guard against terrorism, but the reality is we have not been attacked on our soil since 9/11. All of us owe that to the American Men and Women of the Armed Forces who toil in our name and in service to us and all humanity in the name of freedom. For those of you that take issue with that, the rest of us will pray for you tonight.

The reality is, the American Soldier saved the twentieth Century and is hard at work on the twenty-first. Because of him the last Jew did not die at Auschwitz, The last Bosnian Muslim did not die during the ethnic cleansing and over 300 million people were freed from oppression. Millions of hungry and homeless people were helped after the tsunami in the South Pacific and and many more in humanitarian missions around the globe at differing time in the last century. They restored peace to the Korean peninsula – even if it is a tenuous one – and prevented the obliteration of freedom and peoples rights in dozens of other places around the globe just by their mere presence. The blessings we enjoy are underpinned by the sacrifice in blood and devotion they make for us.

Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

So if you wonder what it is that sets the American Warrior apart from all others that went before him and after him. It is the core principles of the American people as laid out in its Constitution and its Declaration of Independence that “all men are created equal” and granted the inalienable rights of freedom by our creator. It is their faith in the goodness of the American way. They volunteer, they leave their families for extended periods for pay that most Americans would not take for a regular job…all for the simple driving core conviction that nothing in life is more precious than freedom. That makes it worthy of any and all sacrifice.

We send them in harms way, the best equipped and trained fighting force ever to walk the planet. We burden them with Rules of Engagement that make their task more difficult but which in the end bide them in good stead with those that could suffer the consequences of their presence. We have the greatest destructive power available to any Army and have used it only for the ultimate purpose of preserving freedom and saving lives and, when we break things, we fix it better than it was before. We separate them from their families for extended periods, require they not question our authority and yet,,,,they do so with such great honor and distinction and effectiveness. Truly…we are blessed.

When you see a soldier next, make the effort to walk up to them and thank them. If you can, buy them a drink or lunch. Thank them for all their sacrifice and dedication. Their faith sustains not only them but you as well. They do what they do for the meager pay we grant them because within them we have imbued them with the core conviction that is America. They break things and kill evil people at the risk of paying what Lincoln called the

fullest measure of devotion

many have paid that price for you and I and many thousands more paid a slightly smaller, but possibly more hellish price they have to live with every day. We need to acknowledge that and allow it to humble us. If you do, it will bring you to tears and fill your heart with joy and pride.

This has been on my mind for some time. Thanksgiving week, our entire family went on a cruise. On the second night of the cruise, I noticed a Marine Gunnery Sargent enter the dining room in full dress uniform. He had a full panel of Expeditionary, Campaign and Service medals. Having never had the honor to serve, I do not know what they all were specifically, but it was clear to me that he had had a long, distinguished career and served in harms way many times. I was struck by his presence and humbled by the sacrifices he had made that allowed my family the blessings we enjoy without fear of any enemy. Great swaths of people on continents around the world carry this fear everywhere.

I went to the Maitre D and asked him to send a bottle of Champagne to the table. The Maitre D asked what he should say it was for and from who. I told him to just say it was from a “grateful American family”. Later, as we were eating, the Gunnery Sargent came up to me and thanked me. I was dumbstruck. I, who owed my freedom and prosperity to the sacrifices he has made in my name for the last twenty plus years was being thanked by him for the simple gesture of showing him my gratitude. I later figured out that that is the essential nature of all that serve, they serve to be able to show the rest of us their gratitude for the gifts that God and America have bestowed on all of us. I kept thinking about this specific aspect and another thought occurred to me. He had a large extended family with him. I got up and went over to his table and I looked dat all his family members and I said to them…”as much as my family appreciates the service and sacrifices of the Sargent, we are in “ awe of the sacrifices they made to support him in doing so”.

I did not do it for me. My family will go to great lengths to do for others, just do not ever look for us to be seeking credit for doing so. I expected nothing. But my rewards were to come. I felt better about the world in general the rest of the week. On Thursday, I noticed an Army Sargent Major in full dress uniform in the dining room, so I did the same thing. Again, later, while I was eating that Sargent came up to me and thanked me. Life is truly bizarre.

So I, am the father of a sixteen year old son. He is the joy of my life and I would not trade a day of my life for anyone else on this planet because he is my son. To be sure, he is still a teenager very much like I was. He knows more that me after sixteen years than my fifty-five. There are days if he worked for me, I’d fire him, days if I was married to him, I’d divorce him and days I really wonder if he gets it.

We were home a week and we were in the office and he looked at me kind of sheepishly and said…”what would say if I told you I wanted to enlist in the Marines?”. So my reward for all of this in the end was a sign from God, that despite any frustration I may have with my Son, at his core, he gets it. I will still worry about his future, I will still have to kick him in the butt from time to time, but I will never have to worry that I did not do right by him. I could not ask for any greater gift.

So think about all your blessings. Sure you may be worried about the economy, but remember this. If everything rolled over tomorrow, you lost your job, your home everything you own, you would still wake the next day…with your family safe and free to begin all over again and with the opportunity to achieve again what you had previously. Could you really ask for anything more?

Before starting this post, I went on line and made a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project for those that have paid a “slightly lower, more hellish price” that the “fullest measure of devotion”. While Lincoln meant it the most solemn of terms, for me their service is the fullest measure of devotion I can ever expect. For those that have paid that “fullest” price or suffered the lasting pain and damage of serious wounding, well, I can only cry at their sacrifice and cry out to God…

God, protect all that endeavor to serve the preservation of freedom. Assuage their pain, lessen their burdens, allow them the peace they toil to preserve. Please do the same for all that love them.

Merry Christmas to all, especially those that are serving in harms way and most especially to their families may God protect and keep you all.

NY Times Cannot Manage All Its Tentacles

In the rush to rewrite history to their own liking, the NY Times and The International Herald Tribune (international edition of the NY Times), at first appearance, are stepping all over each other in casting blame for the current crisis. On December 19th, this article by Vikas Bajaj and David Leonhardt, they blame the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1977, Signed by Bill Clinton. So at first appearance, they might be blaming Bill Clinton. Well if you read the whole article, they eventually trace it back to Bob Dole and the Republican Party. They just throw Bill Clinton in there as they continue their denigration of the Clinton’s dynasty and legacy which they began in their quest to get Obama elected.

In reality they are blaming Republican principles that hard working people should be allowed to keep their own money instead of handing over their wealth to the Government (who is all omniscient in knowing how to spend it better – perhaps to bail out Newspapers).

Fast forward to today. This article, by Jo Becker, Sheryl Gay Stolberg and Stephen Labaton, in the International Edition of the NY Times (Published: December 21, 2008) in which they lay the blame squarley at the feet of none other than George W. Bush, the all evil all the time, cannot miss any opportunity to screw the world George W. Bush.

They did attempt to put some lipstick on this pig with this graph:

There are plenty of culprits, like lenders who peddled easy credit, consumers who took on mortgages they could not afford and Wall Street chieftains who loaded up on mortgage-backed securities without regard to the risk.

But the story of how we got here is partly one of Bush’s own making, according to a review of his tenure that included interviews with dozens of current and former administration officials.

but they go on to find numerous “current and former administration officials (many probably appointed by Bill Clinton and retained by the same evil George) to legitimize their claim. But you will notice in the little ditty about “blame to go around” they make no mention of Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Frank Raines, Jamie Gorelick and the numerous other Democrat operatives that either oversaw Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac or resisted (to this day denying any connection) all attempts to regulate these organizations (while at the same time lining their pockets directly from the fraud occurring at Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac or from Lenders they were supposed to regulate in their Committees). Instead they again lay the blame on President Bush for being:

unwilling to compromise when his former Treasury secretary wanted to cut a deal

They quote Al Hubbard (President Bush’s former Chief Economics Adviser as saying:

There is no question we did not recognize the severity of the problems

Well I am quite sure they took this out of context, or in the alternative, being such hacks, they so poorly researched the article that they missed this article, written by Al Hubbard where Mr. Hubbard states:

Starting in 2002, White House and Treasury Department economic policy staffers, with support from then Chief of Staff Andy Card, began to press for meaningful reforms of Fannie, Freddie and other government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs).

Further, Mr. Hubbard traces back the genesis even further to Democrat on Democrat failure (during the Clinton Administration) with this:

This was not the first time a White House had tried to confront this issue. During the Clinton years, Treasury Secretary Larry Summers and Treasury official Gary Gensler both spoke out on the issue of Fannie and Freddie’s investment portfolios, which had already begun to resemble hedge funds with risky holdings. Nor were others silent: As chairman of the Federal Reserve, Alan Greenspan regularly warned about the risks posed by Fannie and Freddie’s holdings.

Hubbards coup-de-grace:

The administration did not accept half-measures. In 2005, Republican Mike Oxley, then chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, brought up a reform bill (H.R. 1461), and Fannie and Freddie’s lobbyists set out to weaken it. The bill was rendered so toothless that Card called Oxley the night before markup and promised to oppose it. Oxley pulled the bill instead.

During this period, Sen. Richard Shelby led a small group of legislators favoring reform, including fellow Republican Sens. John Sununu, Chuck Hagel and Elizabeth Dole. Meanwhile, Dodd — who along with Democratic Sens. John Kerry, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were the top four recipients of Fannie and Freddie campaign contributions from 1988 to 2008 — actively opposed such measures and further weakened existing regulation.

The president’s budget proposals reflected the nature of the challenge. Note the following passage from the 2005 budget: Fannie, Freddie and other GSEs “are highly leveraged, holding much less capital in relation to their assets than similarly sized financial institutions. . . . A misjudgment or unexpected economic event could quickly deplete this capital, potentially making it difficult for a GSE to meet its debt obligations. Given the very large size of each enterprise, even a small mistake by a GSE could have consequences throughout the economy.”

That passage was published in February 2004. Dodd can find it on Page 82 of the budget’s Analytical Perspectives.

Note, since these “jounalists” missed opinion 101 it would be better if you misquote somone who has not already written an article recording the facts. But then, we know that you are relying on the fact that there are so many deluded or uninformed people that will read it that your purpose will be accomplished anyway. How disgusting!

They also quote:

Looking back, Keith Hennessey, Bush’s current chief economics adviser, says he and his colleagues did the best they could “with the information we had at the time.” But Hennessey did say he . And both Paulson and his predecessor, John Snow, say the housing push went too far.

Notice the bolded text. They say that Hennesy “says – …regretted that the administration did not pay more heed to the dangers of easy lending practices“, but they do not “quote” him. What is the truth here, did they make this up? Did he say it or not, if so Why did they not “quote” it? This level of sloppiness or lapse of ethics should get them fired, unless of course they were executing the policy of the Times in propagandizing the most critical issue of our time. You have to wonder what payoff they are expecting.

But in the end, the joke will be on you. I wonder what round of layoffs will catch all of you as your “paper” sinks into the abyss of irrelevancy for “not writing the truth that people want to read”. Your money in College was wasted, despite having a degree and making a living as a “jounalist” , none of you has the integrity and knowledge to really understand the term. The rest of us, (no longer paying to read your opinions) are wisened as to the reality of current day jounalism and running away as fast as we can. You would be well advised to learn another trade…or start using your writing skills to try to persuade the Congress that they need to add you to the “Bailout List”, you have a better shot at achieving that than you do of convincing us that you are “journalists”.

Even though the “Don’t Be Evil” crowd over at Google owned Youtube are trying to help Democrats obfuscate the truth by removing the videos with evidence of the complicity of Democrats in this debalce, people keep reposting them. Enjoy it:

Leahy Trying to Sneak Holder Through Without Proper Hearings

Senator Patrick Leahy (d. Vermont) is trying to minimize the time alloted to hearings on the nomination of Eric Holder to Attorney General. They so deperately want to avoid any penetrating questioning as to why he supported (ignored) the pardon of one of the FBI’s top ten wanted fugitives. We already know that there were “pay for play efforts” on behalf of cronies of the Clintons on behalf of all sorts of nefarious criminals, not the least of which was Marc Rich.

Given Holders less than candid responses in this matter previously and given that he has been nominated for the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of the United States (below Obama) the facts of what is considered the most notorius pardon ever granted (done whole against the guidelines of the Justice Department), his actions regarding the processing of this pardon is required.

I am listening to Sen. Whitehouse ramble on about how Leahy has scheduled the same or similar number of days as any other nominee (in the last 30 years), none of them were involved in the granting of a pardon to a fugitive listed on the Top Ten Most Wanted List nor did the ex-wife of that criminal offer a $ 500,000. “contribution” to the then Presidents library.

Get over it. You cannot hide the truth by refusing to hear it. Hold this nomination until all matters have been properly aired.

Great News For Florida

Republicrat Martinez Will Not Stand For Re-Election

Martinez, running hard and fast towards the left despite claiming to be a Republican (good solid record on National Defense – turned left on immigration and the socialization of risk by bailout) has decided to retire from the Senate at the end of his term in 2010. This is good news.

Now we will have a long vetting process for primary challengers to display their positions and be properly challenged to cement them. Among those I suspect will consider the run:

  • Charlie Crist (Disaster)

  • Tom Gallagher – good solid Republican

  • Katherine Harris – staunch conservative that will have a tough time because of the 2000 election fiasco.

  • John L. Mica, Congressman from the 7th District – solid Republican, weak on name recognition.

  • Cliff Stearns, Congressman from the 6th District. A rating from National Taxpayers Union, Solid defender of Gun Rights, My personal favorite.

  • John Peyton – Mayor Jacksonville – will never survive the Primary

  • I am sure many more will emerge. We will see.

Top Reasons To Bail Out The UAW…According to Sheila Jackson Lee And Other Democrats

I am listening to Neil Cavuto interview Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) on why we should bail out the Big Three Auto Companies…..er, unions.

Reason #1-”it is necessary to the war on terror” (Yes, this one from Sheila, she is the only one who thinks her constituents are so stupid as to fall for that one…they may very well be). Yes you heard it right. Sheila wants to stick it in the eye of Al-Queada after Al-Zawahiri’s “hateful” tape of this morning talking trash about her man Obama. I must admit, it is a new and unique tactic. Maybe if we do bail out GM, et. al, they will throw down all of their RPG’s, AK-47′s, IED’s and run off into the hills of NW Pakistan crying and bawling and sucking their thumbs. Can you get the visual?

Reason #2-”it is necessary because we do not make anything in the US anymore.” Thats not entirely true Congresswoman. The UAW created the job bank, where laid off union workers go to watch the History channel while waiting for their weekly (although reduced to 95% of salary and benefit) payroll checks from GMAC et. al to come in.

Reason #3-”If we do not, people will stop buying cars from them.” Not true again, they started stopping buying cars from them as they started to figure out that the cars were not as high a quality as Japanese makes because of the $ 2,000.00 plus cost disadvantage they have based on the foolish, destructive union contracts they agreed to.

Unfortunately, those contracts were not about bringing a better life to their members, they were about power and agrandizement for the Union Heirarchy. Without the decapitation of the Union Power structure over the companies, they have no hope of surviving the disease. If you have a cancerous tumor and refuse surgery and chemotherapy, it is not hard to figure out the prognosis for your long-term survival.

Crist Is Not The Future Of The Republican Party

His Popularity In Florida Is Waning.

True, he is popular in the liberal cities in the southeast and along I-4. That is because the Liberals have no one to challenge him and he is a liberal in many respects. But the rest of us in the state (strongly conservative) are seeing the softer side of Charlie reveal itself (along with the liberal ideas and milquetoast leadership).

He actually pulled back from McCain after McCain picked Palin and withheld resources from the race for his use in 2012. He knows that he is vulnerable and now that he was unable to line up another gig, or deliver Forida, he is looking to re-election as his primary goal. He can be beat. It remains to be seen if someone will emerge to challenge him. Tom Gallagher is one possibility. To take back Florida is going to probably require different leadership in the Governorship. I do believe that John Peyton (Mayor, Jacksonville), has his eye on Higher office. Peyton is a Republican, I personally hope he runs for governor as a Democrat — easy victory for us then.

Colorado Definitely Not Blue Outside The Cities

This state will rise to be red again.

The Colorado 4th District now belongs to the Democrat Party for the first time in a long time. They should not unpack their boxes. Fort Collins is a College town. The core of the University is mainly liberal despite this being an “agricultural” college. It has a broad technical college that has a fairly strong base of liberal professors. From what I see, Obama was able to get out the vote in the close in urban areas of Larimer County to overcome the conservative votes in the other counties in the District and that brought Markey in on his coat tails. Colorado, outside of the Cities is full of bitterly clinging Christians who are the salt of the earth and the backbone of that state.

The town itself is liberal. The City Council had been very much against growth and saw their fortunes plunge economically as other communities (Loveland, Greeley) with more conservative governments took away form the retail tax bas eby being open to development.

If you look at the rest of the district, it is solidly conservative, rural and agricultural. Because of the agricultural base it sometimes mixes in a strong lean towards food subsidies, but is otherwise very conservative.

Bob Schaefer was a strong conservative that served 4 terms and walked away to keep a pledge he made when he ran, this despite the fact that most voters in the District did not want him to honor his pledge.

Colorado politics has been swayed to a great extent by the money of the “Gang of Four” Tim Gill, Jared Polis, PatStryker and Rutt Brindges. All of them are very rich (Billionaires) and extremely liberal. IN 2004 they plunged millions of dollars into races, 527 and advertising to swing the balance of power to the Democrat party.

Up until that time, the State had been in control of the Republican Party across both houses of the legislature and the Governorship under the excellent leadership of Governor Bill Owens (Owens in ’12).

Owens ws term limited in 2006 and again in 2006, the Democrat Party jumped in seeing what millions were able to do in 2004. The State was overrun with Union activists, Acorn and millions not only from the Gang of Four but also every activist Liberal group you can imagine, believing (rightly) that they could flip the state. The unpopularity of Bush at the time did not help.

By adding some honey-pot amendments to drag in otherwise lackadasiacal voters and a strong organizing effort they flipped all of the Legislature and the Governorship and 5 of the Seven Senate and Congressional seats to Democrat control.

However, things are not so sire. The legislature, emboldened by a voter cave in to weaken the Tabor Amendment (restricts the growth of Government Spending) has of course run amok. The economy is weakening and businesses no longer view Colorado so favorably when it comes to attracting business.

Also, the burdens of some of the honey-pot amendments (especially the minimum wage, is starting to erode businesses confidence in the Democrat ability to maintain a vibrant economy. This was compounded by The Democrat Governor reneging on a campaign promise to grant additional sway to the unions by executive order.

Colorado, being a conservative state, believing in freedom, has a weak infrastructure of laws regarding campaign finance and limits. This has allowed outside money to pour in and swing things their way the last few years. However, they have been over-promising and under-delivering. Additionally, I think the Democrats, so full of themselves for the in-roads here will redepoly (Yes, Obama will redeploy everywhere) the external resources that came in the last few years in hopes repeating their success elsewhere.

This will open a crack in 2012. Also, with the collapse of the stock market, me thinks the rich activists will find themselves somewhat restrained. The Republican party should make this a target state to retake the Co 4th, and the Governorship.

Salazar will be up in 2006 and has made himself a caricature of the stereo typical lapdog for Nancy Pelosi . He can be beat with the right candidate and the resources of the party. The question will be, who will be that candidate and will the Republican party be well enough patched back together to field a challenge. If Owens cannot be enticed to look at running for President, I sure hope they can convince him to Challenge Salazar. Most Coloradoans think Bill Ownens walks on water, I know I do. Time will tell.

I live in Florida. I grew up in Miami, but consider Loveland home. I hope to go back in a few years. I hope by then sanity has returned to a great State. In the mean time, I am living in Florida and plunging into local politics to fight the fight myself. I hope others will take up here and keep us all up to speed on what is happening in Colorado.
