URGENT: Washington Gun Owners Under Assault
The Seattle Times reported last night that Washington State legislators are being lobbied hard this weekend by anti-2nd Amendment groups. These legislators are being pushed to support Washington’s HB 1588, which effectively outlaws private firearm sales. If you need to familiarize yourself with this bill, I’ve written about it previously here and here. There are some Democrats being lobbied such as Rep. Steve Kirby (D, 29th LD) and | Read More »

Good Cop, Bad Cop
It’s certain that no strategy is 100% effective, and it would be unwise to think that any politician can be corrected 100% of the time. That being said, a healthy skepticism should be maintained regarding our elected officials, even when they are from our own party. And constant vigilance must be maintained in defense of our rights. Politicians respond to pressure and it’s time for conservative activists to use it in their own party.

UPDATE: With Republicans Like These…
On February 10th I wrote about Washington State House Bill 1588. This bill effectively outlaws the private sale of firearms in Washington State. One of HB 1588’s supporters is Representative Mike Hope (R, LD44). There has been massive conservative and Republican outcry regarding this bill yet Rep. Hope is still supporting it. There has been further controversy surrounding this bill, as substitute bills have been | Read More »
Rep. Mike Hope Wants To Be Your Baby’s Daddy
Imagine for a moment that someone who you deem an inappropriate, or even dangerous, influence wanted access to your children. This is someone who you, as a parent, have tried to shield your child from. After all, isn’t it a parent’s job to protect their children? Imagine that all this individual had to do was take you to court and have a judge issue an order forcing | Read More »
With Republicans Like This, Who Needs Democrats?
All that conservatives want and expect from our elected Representatives is to stand on Republican principles, but even that is too much to ask, it seems. Rep. Hope took an oath to uphold the Constitution, not sell it out. Perhaps he needs some reminding of that fact.

The Failure of Pragmatism and Baby Steps
We are not attempting to create new laws, we just want the current laws against murder applied to all people. When we recognize that all human beings, born and unborn, are created equal and are endowed by God with the same unalienable rights, there will be no need to even use the word “abortion.” Instead, we will simply say “murder” and call abortionists what they truly are, murderers.

The Liberty/Morality Dependency
The fundamental question of America, “Is man capable of ruling himself?” is being answered every time we fail to address issues of basic human morality. It’s answered every time we allow a child to be legally slaughtered. And it’s answered in the deafening silence from us as we ignore it. If we want liberty, we must act and live as though we want to be worthy of it, acknowledging the direct correlation between liberty and morality.

Who’s To Blame? We are.
Tragedy strikes and everyone immediately begins falling over themselves trying to explain it, looking to find reason in madness and order in the chaos. Was he sick? What type of mental illness did he have? Was he taking his medication? Were his parents to blame? Was he mistreated by his family? These are all interesting questions and the answers may have played a small part | Read More »
Beyond Venture Socialism
Edited by Heidi Munson It’s a safe assumption that American citizens, no matter their party affiliation, believe government is wasteful. Government programs never come in on budget, as the recent and predictable example of the Affordable Care Act demonstrates. The American people were told that the ACA would cost $900 billion in ten years, but the latest estimates by the CBO indicate that it will cost | Read More »
Something To Celebrate
Last Saturday, December 1st, the Snohomish County Republican Party Central Committee convened for its legally required biennial reorganization. The Central Committee voted on new leadership including a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, State Committeeman and State Committeewoman. It was my great honor to be nominated for the position of State Committeeman by Mr. Sam Wilson, who gave a great speech about the need for the Republican Party to | Read More »
