I would ask all Washington State patriots to call your legislators again to express your support for both the U.S. and Washington State Constitutions and your opposition to HB 1588. The pressure that you’ve all been applying to them may be working. I’d also ask you to do one other thing: Pray. Pray for wisdom, strength and perseverance for the brave men and women who are standing for liberty in Olympia. Ask God to give them favor with their fellow legislators. Finally, pray for courage for those who are going to go to the floor of the House to speak out against this terrible bill.

URGENT: Washington Gun Owners Under Assault

The Seattle Times reported last night that Washington State legislators are being lobbied hard this weekend by anti-2nd Amendment groups.  These legislators are being pushed to support Washington’s HB 1588, which effectively outlaws private firearm sales.  If you need to familiarize yourself with this bill, I’ve written about it previously here and here. Good Cop, Bad Cop

It’s certain that no strategy is 100% effective, and it would be unwise to think that any politician can be corrected 100% of the time. That being said, a healthy skepticism should be maintained regarding our elected officials, even when they are from our own party. And constant vigilance must be maintained in defense of our rights. Politicians respond to pressure and it’s time for conservative activists to use it in their own party.

All that conservatives want and expect from our elected Representatives is to stand on Republican principles, but even that is too much to ask, it seems. Rep. Hope took an oath to uphold the Constitution, not sell it out. Perhaps he needs some reminding of that fact.
