MEMBER DIARY

The Democratic suicide run for November gains steam.

First, passing legislation that Americans were solidly against.  Now via Hot Air, I guess Hillary Clinton wasn’t bluffing after all in regards to the Obama administration suing the state of Arizona over its new immigration law.  Americans are even more opposed to illegal immigration and in support for Arizona’s new law than they were opposed against Obamacare.  Obviously, this is a play to get the Hispanic vote to come out in November.  The only thought to my mind in regards to President Obama and his administration I can think of is “Stuck on stupid.”

Speaking of Obamacare, it certainly looks as if Barack Obama is channeling his inner John Kerry.  After claiming in a 20/20 interview with George Stephanopolis that Obamacare with the accompanying individual mandate wasn’t a tax increase,  his administration is now claiming that it is a tax in asking a Florida federal judge to dismiss the class-action case brought by at least 14 states.   Sorry Mr. President, you can’t have it both ways.  As Philip Klein correctly points out, Obama was adamant at the time it wasn’t a tax increase, let alone a tax, because this correct perception was damaging the bill’s chances of being passed.  I am really starting to believe that the chances of Obamacare’s individual mandate being overturned due to conflicts with the Commerce Clause stand a decent chance.

In summary, it would appear that the president and his administration are being overwhelmed with the adverse consequences of their actions regarding the oil spill, foreign policy, Obamacare, cap and trade, and immigration issues with Arizona’s state law.  Every move they have made as of late has been the wrong one and the American people may be finally realizing the incompetence and inexperience of the current White House administration.  The ones who will be paying for this soon obviously are Democratic congressmen currently in office.

    and dump America overboard.

Then if the Republicans regain control of Congress, the administration, will just blame the new Congress as their fingerprints, not the Democrats, will be on the body. At least, that’s how the media will frame it.

I want the whole frackin’ thing repealed, root and branch. By removing ONLY the individual mandate, you do two things: (1) reduce the level of outrage felt by the mushy middle towards this monstrosity, and (2) ensure that the insurers withdraw completely from the market — because they won’t voluntarily go bankrupt.

The consequences of (1) are to make it less likely we’ll be able to repeal the whole schmeil, and the consequences of (2) are to usher in single-payer.

I think (2) was part of the left’s plan all along: I think they actually planned to add the individual mandate into the law as a fulcrum. Using it to get the rest passed, knowing that SCOTUS would remove it later, allows them to simultaneously destroy the current health care delivery system while the rest of ObamaCare’s bricks — after the individual mandate was removed — can then be used to build their new single payer socialized medicine monument.

We cannot rely on courts to dig our way out of this fiasco. We need to gird our loins and fight the political fight in the marketplace of ideas. As the little nuggets of oppressive governmental regulation reveal themselves, we need to make the difficult, but necessary case, for repealing this entire agenda.
We grew complacent believing there were just a few wingnuts out there making absurd claims and lying about public policy impact. They need to be firmly schooled by the bulk of the American people.
Crap and Tax, the healthcare takeover, union mandates, and more educational propaganda initiatives are only tools to regulate individual behavior and stifle freedom. Each of them must be taken down and dissected. We must discredit the policies of the left entirely otherwise we will simply be fighting the same battles over and over once the collectivist gain power again in a later election cycle. It is the philosophy that must be revealed and exposed. That is the father of the bad policies.

Despite their dismal prospects in November, that is only going to make the Dems more desperate to pass their liberal dream agenda before next January, even during the lame duck session after the Nov elections.

Pelosi will drive them off the cliff. While many people regard her as a bit of a joke, she is deadly effective behind the scenes in forcing the Dem caucus to get in line.

Obamacare appeared dead after Scott Brown’s election. Even Obama seemed willing to give it a rest. Pelosi brought it back from the brink by convincing others that they would never have another chance like this.

She’ll do the same with the rest of the agenda. She doesn’t need to worry. She doesn’t have an election fight in San Francisco. She will convince embattled Dems to take one for the team and do something “historic” and “unprecedented”. Either that, or she will tell them not to worry, that it will all work out.

She’s like Lucy from the Peanuts. All the other Dems are Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. Would be good if he wises up and actually boots Lucy for once. Might knock some sense into her.
