(Hilarious Update) Lisa Murkowski’s legal guns hold a litigation gun/prevent free speech to local Alaska radio station

The people respond with humor.  The reason for Murkowski doing this?  Evidently there were some Alaskan judges in where it could be argued legislated from the bench.  Therefore, the local radio host got ticked and encouraged people to register as write-in candidates.  Over 100 people entered with lets just say “creative” names that looked like Lisa Murkowski’s name.

Wow

And Sarah Palin weighs in:

Yesterday, Lisa Murkowski’s hired guns threatened radio host Dan Fagan, and more importantly, the station that airs Fagan’s show, with legal action for allegedly illegal “electioneering.” The station, unlike Murkowski, who is flush with millions of dollars from vested corporate interests, does not have a budget for a legal defense. So it did what any small market station would do when threatened by Beltway lawyers charging $500 to $1000 an hour – they pulled Dan Fagan off the air.

Does all this sound heavy handed? It is. It is an interference with Dan Fagan’s constitutional right to free speech. It is also a shocking indictment against Lisa Murkowski. How low will she go to hold onto power? First, she gets the Division of Elections to change its write-in process – a process that Judge Pfiffner correctly determined had been in place without change for 50 years. She is accepting financial support from federal contractors, an act that is highly questionable and now pending before the FEC. And today, she played her last card. She made it clear that if you disagree with her and encourage others to exercise their civic rights, she’ll take you off the air.

And this from a senatorial candidate who will caucus with the GOP?  I am used to seeing thug tactics like this from the Democratic Party.  This woman isn’t worthy of the honor of serving the people of Alaska as Senator.  To charge “electioneering” is outright absurd but people with big bucks can sue anyone who doesn’t have the adequate resources to defend themselves.  Shut the opposition up by filing costly lawsuits and ruin someone.  Unreal!  Vote Joe Miller on November 2nd.

    This is just unreal.

To what lengths will the politically entitled go to win?

Or perhaps I should ask…to what lengths will they not go?

Cornyn and Kaye Bailey are turning blue, holding their breath for the outcome of this race.

Can’t speak for Kentucky but TX will be looking for new senators.

Recall this, which Klondike reported back on Sep. 20:

    The AP is reporting:

Murkowski last week resigned her leadership position within the Republican conference. She said she didn?t want her decision to stay in the race to cause dissension within the group. Murkowski maintains her committee positions, including that as the top Republican on the Senate Energy Committee.

GOP rules allow any Republican senator to seek her removal by forcing a secret ballot vote of the 41-member caucus, but that is unlikely to happen before the Nov. 2 general election, according to GOP staffers and other observers. There are only a few weeks left in the legislative session, with no action on major bills expected.

A Republican incumbent senator does not respect the wishes of the voters of her state as expressed in the primary, and EVERY incumbent Republican punts instead of punishing her to the maximum extent possible.

Want to help send a signal to these “leaders?” Become a Republican Party team member, a “player” — become a precinct committeeman. Threaten their future prospects of cruising to a victory in the all-important, traditionally-very-low-turnout primary elections Threaten their ability to hand-pick the state chairmen and RNC delegates in their respective state Republican Party committees. If thousands of us conservatives became precinct committeemen, you would see a change in their behavior. If we don’t do it, don’t expect any change.

    For Liberty,
ColdWarrior, PC (that?s ?precinct committeeman,? not ?political child!?)
Conservatives, UNITE! CHANGE the Republican Party and save the world by UNITING INSIDE the Party as precinct committeemen. NOW! (3 days until Nov. 2 — what are YOU DOING to help get out the vote in your precinct?)

Action by Doing. How many of us are going to be on the Polls Tuesday as Poll Watchers. How many are going to be greeters for conservative candidates? How many are going to put up signs at 6 am Tuesday Morning at the Polling places you are watching. ABD ( Action by Doing )

Become a person of influence. Become a PC. A Block Captain. A man of the people. Be somebody. Become a contender. A Winner.

It’s only the begining folks Only the beginning.

She won. McConnell, et all won. DeMint lost. That was the event that had DeMint threatening to leave the GOP if they didn’t get the message of this election.

for reasons I’ll explain after the election, if anyone cares, but this election cycle has just been bizzare, disheartening, and flat out scary for Alaska politics. This must be what living in a banana republic is like. I envy you folks in the Contiguous 48 who are dealing with an upcoming exciting new change. Alaska right now seems to be living proof that there is no honor amongst thieves.

When will you be cutting of diplomatic relations with the lower 48?

      • AKSteveB

I’ll put up a diary after the elections. I know Art when he was here, and myself have whined an awful lot about how different things look up here but it is still true. Maybe at age 47 I’m still too much of a political neophyte/naive, but I’ve never experienced anything as dirty as this and there are no good guys. Honestly, it was fun until it wasn’t. I’m sick of the soap opera. If I had the time at the moment, I’d go fly down to Florida and hang out at a Rubio rally.

to your post election diary post.

and you probably should too, and take the advice of the Committeman Project folks and get more involved on the inside. I also have something to run by Vassar, along the lines of “How can we have citizen legislators, when the citizenry as a whole is poorly educated”.

Personally, you probably know how I feel about Palin and Palinistas, and in my perfect world, I’d make them go away. It doesn’t seem like they are though. Given that, some of us are gonna have to be adults and end the Civil War in this party once and for all. Somehow, some way, we need to move towards diversifying the economy up here enough, that moving off the Federal teat isn’t so scary.

My first vote at 19 was for Reagan and ever since I just voted every R on every ballot since, not paying any attention to the primary process. Because I have made a living in rural Alaska the last 30 years I have seen and been the target of those who advocate locking up the resources and maintaining federal control. I have seen dozens of small family placer gold mines shut down and villages lose their social cohesion and become ghettos.
I would argue that there has been no effort at all to increase conservative Republican affiliation in rural Alaska and this is a major mistake. Finding a way to open our resources in a manner that results in rural residents being able to be weaned off the benefit hog and have a real beneficial interest in private sector employment and small business ownership is key going forward. Because the cradle to grave quasi socialist system is now several generations deep, it will be as complex an effort as the re-unification and integration of East Germany to the west has been.

But at least we have a heroine in that race.

Whereas you’ve got a race that I’m sure you wish everyone could lose. It really is an unenviable spot that you’re in.

Yeah we seem to have a choice between the three faces of Hugo Chavez. Authoritarian Hugo, Political Hack Huge, and Socialist Hugo.

But in this case, Murkowski has crossed every bright line. She has shown herself to be a politician utterly without honor or principle. And if she wins, my first post-election political priority will be to try to get her kicked out of our caucus.

I’m not here to shill for Palin/Miller or anyone else. Miller’s experience and philosophy made a very positive impression on me, but I’m not a local– it’s possible that maybe he isn’t a good guy. But he was our nominee and he won fair and square despite being arrayed against Lisa’s political machine.

Since then, Lisa has done everything in her power to stab the Republican party and conservatives in the back– sadly with a lot of help from her friends inside the beltway.

        Is good news for Joe.

I was on the phone with the friend who went to the sanity rally and immediately knew where she got her info.

of the CBS affiliate conspiring for how to connect Joe Miller with a hypothetical supporter who is a registered sex offender.

Not that they know of one. They just said that they’re sure they can find someone at the rally that is a sex offender and then they can use him/her to smear Miller.

But that’s not electioneering, that’s just typical MFM bias.
