What provides any indication that team Romney has any inclination to run this way?

I am happy he seems to be fighting the fight thus far (not a McCain), but really..is he going to stand up there and say to himself (with staff assistance of course):

"Self - I am going to go in a bold new direction. I am going to not only speak but govern in such a way that:

....causes me to run roughshod over the appropriators in my own party..

...over the legislators and lobbyists that want to pick their own winners in the market place...

..that unshackle the people and leads to the kind of nation the GOP and Conservatives have been preaching (but not doing) for decades...

....in spite of such screeching from the press that even my friends and sympathizers will suddenly see me as evil incarnate...

Is this what Romney is likely to do?

If so, I'm all for it. But I think the reality is someone who governs somewhere in between the current and previous two residents of the White House.

a book that I was asking about earlier today. Here's some of the Q&A from the author:

GMJ: In the book, you write that small and medium-sized businesses employ more people than big companies do -- and that very few Americans are aware of that. So what do we need to do to boost the number of those small and medium-sized businesses? And how would that affect the economy?

Clifton: Yes, very few people are aware of that. There are currently about 6 million official operating businesses in the United States with fewer than 500 employees. There are 90,000 companies with 100-500 employees, 18,000 with 500-10,000 workers, and 1,000 large companies with 10,000 employees or more

Ideally, we need about a million startups. Of them, about 5% will shoot up because that's the nature of startups. Big business will be hiring and laying off at the same time, so they won't really create a net number of jobs. But they provide business to the 6 million small to medium-sized companies that do create job growth

If you wanted to fix the American economy right now and make sure the country is well-positioned for the future, get a million startups going, and create a behavioral economic marker on the self-confidence of those organizations. Monitor that marker closely because small and medium-sized companies -- along with our schools' fifth- through 12th-graders, who are your entrepreneurs of the future -- are key to job growth

You can read the rest of it if you're interested. It's at the site address listed below:

If Conservatives had a lick of sense, we'd be leading the way in this particular activity...not only on the business front, but also on the education front as well, because it gives a chance to have a pro-capitalistic influence on those coming up behind us.

I'd love to see us take this on. And I'd love to see Romney drawing more attention to it as well. I don't know how much experience he has on the start-up side, the entrepreneurial side, of private sector business operations though.

Good article, I enjoyed it. Thank you.

America is not going to return to 1955, as much as I wish and dream. America is driven by the entrepreneurial spirit to lunge forward, taking the world along.

A few hundred bloggers, Left or Right, make little dent in the Establishment, which feeds off the federal income tax, off of power and the immunity it confers, off the will of intelligence and lack of soul.

Each of us needs to find our own place in the universe.

There is good and evil. Not measured strictly by law or by the Bible but by commonsense. Obama is evil. Physical education is good. I can't prove this to someone on Kos, but I know it to be true.

Conservatives, IMO, need to be on the side of good, even if modern America is not the Midwest in 1955 and never will be again.
