TX Gov Race: Palin Right, Cheney Wrong Wrong Wrong

With all the happenings and the recent good news coming from NY23, another story from our southern border has not got the attention it deserves.

Allahpundit discussed it briefly. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for Cheney keeping us safe after 9/11. And, of course, 9/11 is clearly Clinton’s fault — no sane person can blame Bush and Cheney just because it occurred when they happened to be in office.

But I just do not understand why he would endorse KBH over the PATRIOT Rick Perry. Sure, Perry seemed to advocate Texas’s Constitutional Right to secede, but he was pushed into it by the unAmerican socialist usurper currently squatting in the people’s White House.

I guess, in the end, Cheney is part of the establishment. I hope for his sake, and ours, that he will wake from his slumber and support Palin when she runs and wins in 2012, whatever party’s ticket she runs on.

My theory is that Dick Cheney is still pissed at Bush for various reasons.

“When the president made decisions that I didn’t agree with, I still supported him and didn’t go out and undercut him. Now we’re talking about after we’ve left office, I have strong feelings about what happened …. And I don’t have any reason not to forthrightly express those views.”

Rick Perry is a legacy of Bush.

Dick Cheney is friends with KBH and her husband. This might actually boost Perry. As the left and the moderates were rushing to KBH, they might re-think their support if the “evil” Dick Cheney is for KBH.

In this regard - Cheney is doing his imitation of Newt.

I like Perry much better

and Cheney may be wrong on this one. But I think he is in no way part of the establishment. He is courageously standing up to Obama, and opening his mouth to do so. No “establishment” Republicans, including, most conspicuously, ones named Bush, are doing so as effectively, or boldly.

I agree with you Joe....

I love Dick Cheney and in a way I respect that he is supporting his “friend”. KBH is no Dede Suzzball but KBH is not what Texas needs to stand up to the socialists either.

I don’t care that he’s “friends” with KBH — just more proof that he is actually part of the establishment.

I don’t care that he got his feelings hurt because Bush didn’t do everything he wanted — that is the kind of small, petty backstabbing and personal politics that Dede is engaging in by endorsing the DEMOCRAT.

If KBH loses the primary, will Cheney pull a Scuzzy and endorse the Dem?

I understand the impulse to give him a pass because of who he is and what he’s done for us. But really, can we afford to do so?

We must expect the best from our best men. I’m not saying we should throw him under the bus, but I’m mad as hell about this.

He is wrong.

like & respect Mr. Cheney, but

He is very wrong on this one. KBH just needs to retire.
