Quick–Call the Governor

Most newspapers and news shows are paying attention to an AP News story that suggests the Republican Governors are in conflict with the House Republicans.  You have to really dig through the story to find that most Governors are pretty passive on the issue, not willing to look the “gift horse in the mouth,” but at least 5 are openly opposed to the Reid-Pelosi Debt Bill.

So here’s the deal– we need to ensure that the Governors don’t go wobbly on the issue because of their real and pressing needs.  We need to remind them of the need for leadership and a little sacrifice. Taking the easy way out for federal funds will only lead to more squabbling down the road about how their state isn’t getting a fair share, and we’ll repeat the 1970s all over again.  Been there, done that.

Does getting a unified stance on the issue of the PorkSpending plan educating all the Governors, including Governor Palin on why it’s a bad idea to go begging for their slice of “pie” being offered up by The One?

On the part of all the Governors, the Feds must shoulder the cost of all “federally – imposed” programs at the state level, including National Parks, conservation programs, costs of maintaining military installations, etc.

I’d settle for the Feds picking up the cost of incarcerating illegal aliens in our state prisons. Some estimates of that population go as high as 40 percent locked up in CA are here illegally and I’d have no problem at all of CA going aggressively after money to pay for the imprisonment of criminal illegal aliens.
