VDH: “The Impending Obama Implosion”

Hubris Is Followed By Nemesis - Often Quickly....

The indispensable Victor Davis Hanson has some remarkable observations this morning – many of which yours-truly (and other contributors here) have been having privately in recent days.

I’d prefer to just dump the whole thing here, but that’s a copyright no-no, so I’ll just offer a couple of quotes and urge that, dear reader, you make a few minutes to read the whole thing since it’s stunningly, brutally on-point….

We are quite literally after two weeks teetering on an Obama implosion—and with no Dick Morris to bail him out—brought on by messianic delusions of grandeur, hubris, and a strange naivete that soaring rhetoric and a multiracial profile can add requisite cover to good old-fashioned Chicago politicking.

And this:

At home, Obama is becoming laughable and laying the groundwork for the greatest conservative populist reaction since the Reagan Revolution.

The good news of course is that in the long run this is good news – due to hubris and delusions-of-grandeur of a recklessly-incompetent leader, this silliness will be short-lived.

The bad news is that remembering the damage that four years of Jimmy Carter did (messes we’re still trying to cope with, such as Iran), I remain afraid of how bad things will get while this sad circus continues….
