The NYT could learn something from Al Jazeera.

Like objectivity. The following video - see the AAR - 911 Families webpage for more - is by Al Jazeera.

And the “little known Muslim” referred to in the piece is Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser of Phoenix, AZ. He heads a great organization called the American Islamic Forum for Democracy. Check out his website. In my opinion Dr. Jasser is an American Hero.

This accurately summarizes the “science” behind global warming.

Re: What Ace said on Palin and more…

THEY said after her failed bid for VP she would vanish into obscurity. THEY said after she resigned as AK governor her future potential as a viable candidate was less than zero.

Now THEY are saying that she can’t be President because she fence sat a hot potato? Moe and Ace are right, compared to the Couric days she handled this about as well as can be expected. And of course THEY would rather trash Palin that discuss a Misery Index Summit- but it also means against overwhelming odds she is still a very much viable force that scares the Left silly.

In addition, Palin’s resilience and determination against a militantly negative media and the peppered twist she puts in the Left’s panties earns her a place on my guest list regardless of what THEY say.

Rep Carol Shea-Porter (D, NH) can’t remember what she believes.

In this case, she apparently forgot completely that the antiwar movement was supposed to be all about fighting in Afghanistan, not that awful Iraq place. Why else would she be trying to abandon headlong the war that we’re fighting there now?

‘Because she was cynically lying about the need to win in Afghanistan all along?’ Interesting answer, but that would imply that Shea-Porter was smart enough to pull that off.

What Ace said on the Palin birth certificate thing.

Nothing to add, nothing to subtract. Read the whole thing.

PS: OK, one thing. I understand that Democrats would rather talk about this particular issue than, say, the way that they’ve doubled the unemployment rate under their watch… and I don’t care about what they’d rather talk about. And I don’t care if they don’t like my side’s conspiracy-flavor-of-the-month: at least my guys aren’t blaming it all on the Jews.

Oops, did I just type that out? My bad.

Mann and Jones Save Us From CO2 Emissions!

Dr. Mann and Dr Jones are alright in my book. It matters not what the entire rest of you Denialists at RS have to say about it! They have saved the planet from multitudinous CO2 emissions from a copious point source.

They’ve embarassed Cheating Charlatan/GHG-Bag AL Gore into blessed, peaceful silence.

Former Vice President Al Gore on Thursday abruptly canceled a Dec. 16 personal appearance that was to be staged during the United Nations’ Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, which begins next week.

As described in The Washington Times’ Inside the Beltway column Tuesday, the multimedia public event to promote Mr. Gore’s new book, “Our Choice,” included $1,209 VIP tickets that granted the holder a photo opportunity with Mr. Gore and a “light snack.”

Edwin Edwards biography due out this month

edwin-edwards-on-wwljpg-41ca96fd5cc5eaf8

[Former LA Governor Edwin] Edwards, a Democrat, is serving a 10-year sentence for a scheme to rig the riverboat casino licensing process during his fourth and final term in office, which ended in 1996. He’s scheduled for release from prison in 2011.

Not Quote of the Day, Deceiver.com edition.

Because I’ve already done Quote of the Day. Still, on the news that Cubslayer Gore has apparently decided to cut back his Copenhagen appearances in this brave, post-Climategate New World, Deceiver.com notes:

How great would it be if Al Gore skipped Copenhagen altogether? If I were him right now, I’d be laying in bed with my laptop and pint after pint of Chunky Monkey, watching the Google search results for “Climategate” skyrocket, weeping and whispering, “Why? Why, Gaia, why?” Hey wait, that’s what I’m doing right now.

Mind you, this assumes that Gore has a working sense of shame. Given the way that he keeps insisting on killing polar bears with his brazenly profligate energy use, that’s doubtful.

Honduran Congress rejects Zelaya reinstatement.

Can this be done, now?

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, 02 December, 2009 - With a vote of 111 in favor and 14 against, the National Congress of Honduras today overwhelmingly rejected the restitution of Mr. José Manuel Zelaya Rosales to the presidency of the Republic. Also, Congress passed a motion supporting the succession leading to the constitutional presidency of Mr. Roberto Micheletti Bain. Members in turn strongly and affirmatively expressed of the permanence of President Micheletti in office until January 2010, confirming Decree 141-2009, with 111 votes for and 14 against. The president-elect of the Republic, Porfirio “Pepe” Lobo will take office on January 27, when the new President of Congress will place the presidential sash.

Via Fausta.

Look, it’s over, all right? The deposed President of Honduras tried to Chavez his way into keeping power. His own political party, in conjunction with the military and judiciary, removed him from office. We jumped the gun on condemning the action, and have been regretting it ever since. They have had a legitimate election where the opposition party won. The current government is loudly declaring how ecstatic they are over the idea of handing power over to the winners of that election. And now their legislature has declared that they are not going to put Zelaya back in power - and a position from which to do mischief - until January.

So let’s just make an example of some scapegoat from the State Department and Move. On.

NY GOP blamed for SSM loss in NY Senate.

Wait, what?

The New York Times is as predictable as the sunrise, frankly:

ALBANY — The State Senate defeated a bill on Wednesday that would legalize same-sex marriage, after an emotional debate that touched on civil rights, family and history. The vote means that the bill, pushed by Gov. David A. Paterson, is effectively dead for the year and destroys the optimism of gay advocates.

The bill was defeated by a decisive margin of 38 to 24. The Democrats, who have a bare, one-seat majority, did not have enough votes to pass the bill without some Republican support, but not a single Republican senator voted for the measure.

Actually, by definition the Democrats had enough votes to pass the bill in the state Senate: they just lost roughly 25% of their caucus to the opposition. Which is about the proportion that it looks like Democrats lost in the Assembly vote - but NY’s Assembly is more lopsidedly Democratic than the Senate, so it didn’t matter there.

Personally, I wish that they had passed the [blessed] thing - but I’ll likewise be [blessed] if I let the NYT blame the GOP for something that they ought to be blaming the Democrats for. The GOP does not control the NY state Senate. The Old Grey Lady can stop pretending that it does, thanks. Even if it means admitting that the Democrats are rampaging hypocrites on gay right issues.
