How is it possible for RedState to be both the cause and the cure for what ails me? If I didn’t care what RedStaters think, I wouldn’t ever log on. If I didn’t learn anything from what I read, I wouldn’t continue to be a daily reader. If I didn’t think any of it was important I wouldn’t have become a member in the first place. And if all of this didn’t matter anyway I wouldn’t be trying to write a birthday diary.

Throughout the election cycle this site has inspired, taught and rick rolled me. There has been shreiking, blamming, guffawing and windbagging. Through it all we hang together. It works. Even when we’re being 500ed up the wazoo.

Another thing the left hates Sarah Palin for is her fight against declaring polar bears an endangered species.

Polar bears are not endangered in Alaska. There is, however, a reason the left wants to declare the bears to be endangered. That reason is to stop the development of our Alaskan natural resources.

Since Arnold is too busy with his budget in Caleeforniea to give a prime time speech on the opening day of the Republican National Convention, it reminded me of the convenient absences of our Governor of Illinois. The parallel is not that close, but it got me to thinking.

See, when Barack is having a high level appearance in Illinois, the Governor seems to be too busy with budget crises to attend. The fact that the Governor of Illinois is under investigation and might seem to taint the changehope meme, makes him an unwelcome guest at Obama functions.
