Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) Endorses Fiorina in CA Senate

After last month endorsing Marco Rubio, Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma endorsed Carly Fiorina to take down Barbara Boxer. Inhofe and Boxer both serve on the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, which Boxer chairs. Inhofe is the ranking member on that committee. She succeeded Inhofe as Chairperson of the committee when the Democrats took control of the Senate in 2007. They don’t appear to be the best of friends. Inhofe is one of the most conservative Senators, with a grade of 96/100, just behind Jim DeMint, and Jon Kyl, who also is supporting Fiorina. He ties with Mike Enzi, and Tom Coburn, who supports Fiorina, and is also from Oklahoma. Inhofe was also named “Outstanding Conservative Senator” recently.

“Carly Fiorina is a true fiscal conservative who has made controlling our federal deficit one of her top priorities. Her common-sense approach and sharp business skills make her exactly the kind of leader we need in the U.S. Senate to help address our ballooning deficit and get our nation’s economy back on track.”

DeMint Introduces “Term-Limits for All” Constitutional Amendment

Can’t believe we missed this here.
Yesterday, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) introduced an amendment to the Constitution to limit the terms of all Senators and US Representatives. Senators would be limited to a maximum of 12 years (2 terms) and Reps. a maximum of 6 years (3 terms).
The amendment is co-sponsored by one-term Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), 2 term Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS), and Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas, who is mid-way through her third term, and would be in violation of the new term-limits law. From the Senator’s website-

November 10, 2009 - WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) introduced an amendment to the United States Constitution that would apply term limits to all members of Congress, limiting U.S. Representatives to three terms and U.S. Senators to two terms in office. The amendment is cosponsored by U.S. Senators Tom Coburn (R-Oklahoma), Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), and Sam Brownback (R-Kansas). As an amendment to the Constitution, it would require a two-thirds majority vote approval in the House and Senate and must be ratified by three-fourths of the states.

“Americans know real change in Washington will never happen until we end the era of permanent politicians,” said Senator DeMint. “As long as members have the chance to spend their lives in Washington, their interests will always skew toward spending taxpayer dollars to buyoff special interests, covering over corruption in the bureaucracy, fundraising, relationship building among lobbyists, and trading favors for pork – in short, amassing their own power. I have come to realize that if we want to change the policies coming out of Congress, we must change the process itself. Over the last 20 years, Washington politicians have been reelected about 90% of the time because the system is heavily tilted in favor of incumbents. If we really want to put an end to business as usual, we’ve got to have new leaders coming to Washington instead of rearranging the deck chairs as the ship goes down.”

Senator Coburn added, “The best way to ensure we are truly a government of the people, for the people, and by the people, is to replace the career politicians in Washington with citizen legislators who care more about the next generation than their next election. The power of incumbency has created an almost insurmountable advantage for Washington politicians. Incumbency allows politicians to raise millions of dollars in campaign funds in exchange for earmarks. Incumbency gives Congress the power to raise money for itself – Congress just approved itself an increase of nearly $250 million from the U.S. Treasury that members will spend to promote themselves. Finally, with redistricting incumbents can choose their voters rather than voters choosing their representatives. Term limits is the best way to break this cycle.”

Novena for Pro-Life, Conservative Victory Nov. 3

Can you believe it? In the next few hours, we will be only 9 days away from the November 3rd election. That means that it is time to really start working. And all of our candidates need prayers. Not only candidates, but ballot initiatives in Maine. So, starting today, nine days out, I am going to say 9 Hail Marys daily for-
Doug Hoffman, the only pro-life, traditional marriage defender in the special election for New York’s 23rd congressional district

Bob McDonnell, the pro-life, traditional marriage candidate in the Gubernatorial election in Virginia, along with the candidate for Attorney General, Ken Cuccinnelli, and candidate for Lt. Gov, Bill Bolling.

Chris Christie, pro-life, against gay marriage candidate in the New Jersey Gubernatorial election.

David Harmer, pro-life candidate who is in favor of traditional marriage in the special election in California’s 10th Congressional District

Also, in Maine, there is a ballot initiative on gay marriage. Here, we need to pray that the voters of Maine will vote to protect marriage as a union between 1 man and 1 woman.

Also pray for any candidates for state legislators, judges, and any other candidates who represent our values to be victorious on this Nov. 3.
Now, do you need to pray 9 Hail Marys the next nine days for this? No. I encourage you to pray and special prayer to you, one time, or nine times, or however many times you feel necessary, specifically for these causes, each day for the next nine days.

Let’s Not Fail Chuck Devore Again

At the end of last quarter, Chuck Devore asked us to help him raise some money on-line. I believe it was $30,00, but I know it was much less than his goal for this quarter: $50,000, and we failed him. We did not meet his goal. This quarter it is much closer. He currently has raised $38,745. He is still over $11,000 short of his $50,000 goal. We have less than 24 hours left. Put this on your blog, Facebook, Twitter, whatever. Let’s show Carlyfornia and Barbara “Call me Senator” Boxer that Chuck Devore is a real threat! Even Al Gore http://chuckdevore.com/blog.asp?artid=144 thinks so!

Scott Brown (R-MA) Donation Page Now Live

State Sen. Scott Brown is running to succeed Ted Kennedy in the US Senate. He is the likely Republican nominee. I know everyone is going to say that he can’t win in MA. If a Republican can be elected to the Senate from MA, the time is now. This is the first open MA Senate seat since the 1980’s. We may not get another chance like this. The Dems will face a multimillion dollar primary barely a month before the election. The state Attorney General, a US Rep, a million-dollar business man ensures a bloody, expensive primary. We can win. To win, Scott Brown needs money. I know times are tough, but please try to find $5 to donate to taking back our Senate.

Conservative Activist Get Their Mojo back: Wilson brings in over $1 Million

Looks like we got our mojo back:

A source on Rep. Joe Wilson’s campaign says his fundraising has broken $1 million — and surpassed that of his Democratic rival, Rob Miller — since his outburst of “You lie!” during President Obama’s address to Congress Wednesday. The source said Wilson’s current tally is $1,005,021 from 18,859 donations amid a high-profile campaign on the Drudge Report and elsewhere telling conservatives that Wilson is “under attack” for his willingness to take on Obama.

Impressive! From $250,000 yesterday morning, to now catching back up with Miller.

Fight Back: DNC Raises over $1 million from Wilson’s Comment.

In response to Erick’s post about donating to Joe Wilson (R-SC) after shouting “You lie!” at Obama, I am posting this diary to urge donations to the RNC. According to Politico, the DNC has raised over $1 million from Wilson’s comments. http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0909/A_milliondollar_day_for_the_DNC.html

Now, we need to fight back. We can’t let them benefit from our telling the truth. If we want to win, we have to stay competitive in fundraising. So far, the RNC has done that. Are we going to let this one little thing change that?! Hell no! Donate to the RNC @ http://www.rnc.org/splashpage/index.aspx

Post this to your blog, your Facebook, Twitter, etc.
