any one of us could be next. Last night at Bible Study, I heard a line that really inspired me. Maybe it will do the same for you and others like you, but in any event, I'll be praying for you.

"Do what you can. God will take care of what you can't."

...are the ones that suffer. These stories really put a face on the bad policies that have been forced upon this nation. It's easy for the news to report that a certain number of homeowners have lost or will soon lose their homes. But each and every one of those numbers has a name and they have a face, and many of them are like our fellow Americans who have shared their stories with us here.

The number of these stories will, I fear, continue to grow. Though there are those of us that are not in this kind of shape today, tomorrow may tell a different story. So for those of us that are still able, I encourage you to help those in need in your community. Volunteer at the local food bank or at your church. We as Americans need to be as generous with our own friends and neighbors as we have been with those that faced disasters in foreign countries.

I say Pay it Forward, as none of us knows when we might be the ones hurting and need a helping hand from someone else. This diary is so right. We are not bumps in the road. We are Americans.

My prayers are with all of you.

through your trails and adversity. It rarely gives hope in the moment to say, "and this too shall pass." But as with all times and seasons, we look forward with a hope that this nation will be put back on the right path soon.

In 2006, I lost my job of 13 years doing tech support in telecommunications. I tried to get another job but at 53, no one gave me the time of day. I started my own business servicing system and was doing Ok until 2008. Last year my income was well under the poverty line. I lost my house, used up my savings, car repossessed, and filed chap 7 last winter. Now I may be out on the street in another month.

I HOPE this CHANGEs soon!

Please do not give up! I was reminded this morning of something that has helped me through some very dark days. After reading your comment, I had to respond. Use the Golden Key. Whenever you start looking at your bad situation, remember to look instead to God and take your mind away from the issue. The only way God can work for you is if you get out of the way.
Keep your chin up, you want to be around for the big party when Mr. Road Bump gets booted in 2012!

I hope this helps you!

and I've been unemployed for 2-1/2 years. Can never go back to that line of work due to injury, but no workman's comp. No retraining either, can't afford it.

My husband is an American

He's an Army vet, worked 20 years as a correctional officer w/ nothing between him and the inmates except his wits and his small can of mace. He was born a farmer, been working since he was 11. In July 2011, his unemployment benes run out. He's been unemployed over 99 weeks. His health has been ruined near to the point of death.

By August, we will be homeless and in a tent. At 55 years old. No elec for his breathing machine and breathing treatments. The heat might kill him, if not, the cold will. My husband has never gone more than 4 weeks w/o a job and that was medical. He is depressed to the point of just laying down and dying. His faith in God has been shaken to the core. He feels he has let down his dead father who "taught him better than this". Thank God we have no kids to support. A vet. A man who lasted 20 years doing a job no one else will hardly touch. Paying our taxes diligently. And this is what he gets?

We feel like bumps in the road already. We've been run over and mashed in the wheels of FS that overpaid US and now we have to pay a whopping bill back to them. We'll never trust Social Services again. There is no dignity here, no dignity left.

Thank you ever so much Mr. Obama. *spitting on the sidewalk* You have truly brought us plenty of change, though none of it left in our pockets. No point in discussing this "hope" deal you promised us, it was a "shadow box" ruse, as well. No hope, no will, no life, only death. Is this what we get for being the ones who paid your taxes all these years?

I said in an earlier diary that when Barry was running in 2007 and 2008, every time he gave a speech, his numbers went up. Since the roll out of Obamacare, every time he gives a speech his numbers go down. thank the Lord that the only activity that BHO likes to do is give speeches. Romney took this line and ran a devastating ad that doesn't blatantly reference Romney. His campaign is doing what they need to do. Let Barry strangle himself.
