Be Sure Your Vote Cast is Really Your Own Vote

I don’t know if true, but last week some people alleged in NV that when they went to place early votes, their voting machines were already set for Reid and the Dem. ticket.

Today, in an email from my tea party coordinator, I received a forwarded message that someone in NJ had also been faced with an electronic voting machine already set for the Dem. ticket in his/her district. She(he) also said the touch screen was loath to change the choices, altho’ eventually it did, and was also reluctant to all allow the voter to push the “cast vote” button. A poll official had to help the machine accept the vote the citizen wanted.

I do not know if electronic machines can be tampered with so they are set to produce a preselected vote roster, but whether machine voting, or casting an old-fashioned paper ballot, every voter today should be extra vigilant in the voting process as the usual suspects will be unusually active in this particularly election, because they’ve seen the writing on the wall that the unemployment tsunami the rest of the US has experienced is waving their way (talk about mixed metaphors, but it works for me).

Voters in Corpus Christi, TX and surrounding Nueces County can be relativity confident in the safety of their electronic votes. I know these individuals personally. While they are ethnically, politically, and denominationally diverse they have one unifying trait, they’re computer geeks. I do not doubt the professional integrity of these folks. I am also familiar with the company that provides the equipment , known as E-Slate. I have worked with some of their other products while in an other field. I found them to be highly reliable. They are based in Austin, TX. (thank God)
Our problem lies primarily in a smaller location, known as Robstown, the issue being individuals with registration issues. There are also isolated reports of unruly behavior in some locations on occasion. Many of these areas are, interestingly enough, virtually devoid of light complected people. They tend to comprise a more diverse linguistic and pigmented population.
Election Day 2010 has started pleasantly with the only one small glitch caused by an overlooked power plug at the Lindale Senior Center over by the H.E.B. which was resolved by a sharp eyed person from downtown. There were some questionable placement of signage resolved by a resolute election judge. Things go behind the distance marker in her polling place, thank you. Such diligence is admired.
It’s still early. Folks haven’t got off work yet (if they have it).
