The so-called “manosphere” is peopled with hundreds of websites, blogs and forums dedicated to savaging feminists in particular and women, very typically American women, in general. Although some of the sites make an attempt at civility and try to back their arguments with facts, they are almost all thick with misogynistic attacks that can be astounding for the guttural hatred they express. What follows are brief descriptions of a dozen of these sites.
The SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Center) has a long history of condemning so-called hate groups. They currently “track” 1,002 of these organizations via the SPLC “Hate Map” which allows you to identify just exactly how many groups of “neo-Nazis, Klansmen, white nationalists, neo-Confederates, racist skinheads, black separatists, border vigilantes and others” have set up shop in your beloved state. They even write The Hatewatch Blog which keeps an eye on the radical right.
But lately, they’ve run out of Neo-Nazis and Klansmen. This seems to have occurred from the diligent efforts of the SPLC and from syphilis and hookworm – but mostly from the syphilis and the hookworm. So the SPLC folded up shop, held a big polka dance and celebrated the fact that Americans no longer hated one another – just kidding. Their attorneys have student loans to repay like the rest of us. Instead, they just kept enlarging the set of Americans who !Hate!
In 2007, the SPLC pooled their vast resources with La Raza to demonize opponents of easier immigrations standards and lower border security. They assisted La Raza in this endeavor by labeling the Federation for American Immigration Reform(which includes the Center For Immigration Studies and NumbersUSA) a hate group and demanded that they be restricted from public debate. FAIR continues to publish and neither George W. Bush nor Barack Obama has successfully passed what La Raza was peddling. This suggests that the USSC still retains a sliver of judicial authority over the self-entitled and arrogant SPLC.
In 2010, the SPLC decided to show their love for tolerance by demonizing social conservatives. The Winter 2010 “Intelligence Report” included a Shindler’s List of 18 prominent groups that opposed gay marriage. Apparantly paranoia raised money for the SPLC. They describe these groups below.
Even as some well-known anti-gay groups like Focus on the Family moderate their views, a hard core of smaller groups, most of them religiously motivated, have continued to pump out demonizing propaganda aimed at homosexuals and other sexual minorities. These groups’ influence reaches far beyond what their size would suggest, because the “facts” they disseminate about homosexuality are often amplified by certain politicians, other groups and even news organizations.
And now it’s come to this….The Misogyny Report. Not everyone has enough talent to contribute material for Saturday Night Live comedy routines. Very few writers are gifted enough to be that good inadvertently. I’m probably just blogging this because I’m secretly jealous. It feels good to come out of the closet with that and get it off my chest. Oh wait, they really aren’t just kidding. Misogyny is now a Thought, oops, I mean, Hate Crime.
Wow! This is scary! Someone could out there right now, who hates my wife, my daughter and my Dear Old Mom! A nation’s security is at risk. Therefore, I’m going to offer up a few more misogynists that the Central Scrutinizer, seems to have overlooked.
1) The Nefarious Keith Olbermann: When describing female Conservative commentator S.E. Cupp he said the following.
On so many levels she's a perfect demonstration of the necessity of the work Planned Parenthood does.
2) The Odious Bill Maher. There’s this visual evidence of his contempt for certain females. And he’ll be in their neck of the woods on March 17, if they want to gather more data.
3) Louis CK needs to get rid of his Twitter account. The children could be reading. He offered the following “congratulations” to Sarah Palin last fall.
"@SarahPalinUSA kudos to your dirty hole, you f**king jack*** c**t-face jazzy wondergirl."
I feel like the character in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Mikado. If it’s the misogynists that we’re now equating with terrorists who burn churches, I’ve got a little list. Isn’t amazing how the SPLC had enough free time and Kleenex to read bloggers like Roosh and the crank who publishes In Mala Fide, but they didn’t even notice the guy who has the special every month on HBO? I wonder how these oversights just keep managing to occur.
If I started doing Amos and Andy skits in blackface, would the SPLC not list me as a Hate Group? I guess if it’s “comedy”, it really doesn’t count. In going after the dead-d**k dogs who publish “Game” blogs, the SPLC has proven itself intellectually bankrupt. In the end, carpetbeggers can’t be choosers.
