First off, I have nothing against the rank-and-file - they've got a tough job and they do their best... They (the rank-and-file police) also SUPPORTED concealed carry consistently, with the (understandable) justification that law-abiding citizen's should have a right to protect themselves because the police can't be everywhere at once.

So a thumbs up to them...

However, a big thumbs DOWN to the MPD brass...

There's the CCW issue, where they went against the views of their officers & sided with the Dem politicians, using the typical apocalyptic rhetoric about the 'Wild West' if law-abiding citizens were allowed to legally carry defensive arms...

And there's my personal experience with a version of the 'other' categorization - back when John 'no cars in my city' Norquist was mayor (He never got the votes to enact that, but his dream was a Milwaukee devoid of personal vehicles)....

I had my 93 Trans Am stolen from a store parking lot, by some kids who grabbed my keys off the counter - and drove the car into a wall. By the time the cops got there, the car had been stripped of all personal property, including a M1911 pistol & a can of ammunition. I gave the responding officer the serial number of the gun, and he properly recorded this in his report... However, the case was filed as a car theft only - the gun-theft was never filed even though it was in the report. I found this out when I called HQ a few years later to check and see if my gun had turned up - they had no idea it was a stolen gun until I told them to look at their officer's report.

So I have my pistol back, and with it a belief that MPD has been fudging crime stats for YEARS (Hey, let's not report the GUN THEFT to NCIC - we'll just call this ONE crime (car theft) and be done with it)...

I know, RMJ. I know.

The days when the left can hide their deceit behind a veil are coming to an end now. It's articles like the one above that are tearing that veil to shreds.

It's worth the fight!!! And thank you.

Roger Hedgecock had an article tonight. Apparently, the FBI went through the Milwaukee numbers and found a large number of aggravated assaults were erroneously classed as assaults. Instead of going down 3%, it actually went up 2% according to Hedgecock.

...for this very reason. Police departments are under no legal requirement to "protect" anyone. If they were, they would be getting sued daily. People must learn to protect themselves; most trouble happens so fast there is usually little time to hunt-down a p;oliceman.

Tim Barrett should understand this as he was arracked with an iron pipe and he has a police department security/driver. A lot of good that cop did that day; he couldn't even stop the mayor from being attacked.

Moral, ethical, legal, living...you name it. The end justifies the means in their eyes. Deceiving people is just the tip of the iceberg. And they really don't care about the individuals who get hurt in the process as long it enables them to accomplish and achieve their goals.

Seeing them get away with it, and seeing the damage it does in people's lives...the weight of it gets heavy sometimes, doesn't it?

Rant away, RMJ. We do understand where you're coming from.
