In the absence of justice, what is sovereignty but organized robbery?

The United States Civil Service controls entirely too much power not to be aggressively corrupted from without and within. The United States Government also has a long history of scandals and embarrassments that have lead them to pass numerous reforms to rein in corruption within the Civilian Sector of our vast Federal Government. The Pendleton Act, The Hatch Act and The Civil Service Reform of 1978 were all attempts to keep the Civil Servants civil and to focus their efforts on governance rather than manipulative self-empowerment at the expense of the people they were commissioned to serve.

These three reforms all had one thing in common. They were passed after media scrutiny made it impossible for the cockroaches involved to scurry away. So what happens if a scandal happens that the media kind of enjoys? Well, the wrong-doing simply never gets covered. The silence is deafening and it drowns out any meaningful calls for reform. A government that is biased and unjust in a manner that the press wants and enjoys them being biased and unjust can pretty much get away with murder. Or at least it can show massive discrimination and favoritism with no particular censure from our self-appointed voices of reason in the 4th Estate.

“Newly uncovered IRS documents show the agency flagged political groups based on the content of their literature, raising concerns specifically about ‘anti-Obama rhetoric,’ inflammatory language and ’emotional’ statements made by non-profits seeking tax-exempt status.”

Woodward and Bernstein wannabees are wandering all over DC hounding the malefactors. No stops are left pushed-in instead of pulled-out. The war on obfuscation rages as grim, hard, journalistic voices of cynical wisdom demand to know what the President knew and when Barack Obama knew it. Oh, wait….

Not only have ABC, CBS and NBC not reported this story they’ve flat out stopped covering the IRS scandal on their evening and morning shows. It’s been 85 days since ABC last touched the story on June 26. NBC hasn’t done a report for 84 days and CBS last mentioned the IRS scandal 56 days ago on July 24.

But obviously the administration believes in Hope and Change. It’s an openhearted association of truth and beautiful unicorns-a veritable Ministry of Love! The silly rapscallions who committed this error in perfectly good conscience will come before the public and apologize because of all the terrific openness these Progressives believe in. Or, not….

Let’s understand the political stakes. No one made up the idea that these conservative groups were investigated. They were. Many were put out of business. If this all goes away, what that means is the Internal Revenue Service has become a weapon of politics. It can be used as an instrument of politics by an administration routinely against his political enemies. It has been done before, but not on this level. It has become institutionalized.

So what is it that we can do exactly? I mean poor Winston Smith got pounded until he loved him some Big Brother. Isn’t that just what lies in store for any foolish nail that sticks up far enough to be hammered? Well, no. We fight back on a platform of reforming or abolishing the IRS, the NSA and any other group of Civil Servants who forgets exactly who exists to serve.

Silly, silly RMJ. Nobody has the guts to pursue such a radical course reckless disestablishmentarianism. Our Good Friend Senator McCain calls foolish people who do such foolish things Hobbits. Our other Good Friend, Senator McConnell wants to exterminate you fromt he party. It’s a lost cause. Submit and don’t make waves, you fool! Once again, or not….

There are those in DC who will fight your fight…

Don’t let the big three networks determine the content of next year’s political conversation. Don’t allow them to permit a blatantly partisan Civil Service get away with felonious harassment. We need more than just the sounds of silence.
