How To Make The CBO Your Tool of Disinformation

Phillip Klein of The Washington Examiner is shocked. Phillip Klein is appalled. He’s shocked and appalled. It seems that he was the last individual in Washington, DC to get the message that The Affordable Care Act of 2009 (AKA ObamaCare) was going to take a wee tad more out of the national wallet than we were previously led to believe after the CBO estimated it’s | Read More »

Another Argument For Smaller Government: Let’s Make Amerika The Good-Guys Again

“We’ve been a little bit lazy over the last couple of decades. We’ve kind of taken for granted — ‘Well, people would want to come here’ — and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new businesses into America.” – President Barack H. Obama fires up the troops. (Ht: Brietbart.com)

    The Colbert Congress

Fall is a time of the year when really strange things happen. Congressman John Conyers, for example, knew exactly what he was doing when he attempted to yank Comedian/ Expert Witness Stephen Colbert off the stage. We’ll all look back on last week and realize that nostalgia, like our current US Congress, just isn’t what it used to be. Stephen Colbert has succeeded as a | Read More »

I Don’t Blame Orszag For Quitting

Word has it that White House budget director, Peter Orszag will be quitting this July to go join a Think Tank. He should do so. It would be the condign response to what has been a gross dereliction of duty on the part of the House of Representatives. Politico.com describes the details of his career change below. Officials have said for some time that Orszag | Read More »

The Careerists Vs The Idealists On Obamacare

So why did Mr. Smith go to Washington? He will generally have one of two reasons. One is to change the world; the other is to collect and redirect a large quantity of the world’s change. These two motivations can lead to considerable conflict. It splits our political leadership into those who wish to do good and those who make darn sure they end up | Read More »

Congressman John Conyers Proves That This Congress Needs An Enema!

I appreciate what John Conyers adds to America’s national debate. He speaks openly, without thought to even his own reputation, about the things that burden his vastly futile mind. We learn from Congressman Conyers, without filter and without distraction, exactly what American Leftists truly believe and what the American Leftist truly is as a human being. Thus, I find it difficult to take Congressman Conyers | Read More »

    An Environmental Magna Carta

The US Constitution guarantees a separation of powers, but cannot prevent the three distinct branches from jockeying to be top dog. We saw this writ large when President Barack Obama publically voiced his resentment towards how the US Supreme Court used its constitutional prerogative in the Citizens United Case. We see this conflict play out more subtly as the House of Representatives prepares a new | Read More »

David Obey, Maxine Waters and The Plague of Unearned Exceptionalism

So why then do we have this scene? We have it because our society has banned failure and thereby enstupidated the population to the point where a random sample of possible Congressmen and Congresswomen will contain a large volume of Obeys and Waterses. They are a mirror of our dysfunctional, modern society.

America will only be exceptional when we stop making exceptions. We can become exceptional again when we demand it from ourselves and our leaders. I can’t un-elect either David Obey or Maxine Waters. I don’t live in either of their districts.

I can take a stand where I live. So may you, I pray that you shall. We are not now an exceptional nation. We will not again be exceptional until David Obey and Maxine Waters are the exception; not the rule.
