We Are Not a Nation of Individuals

The repackaging of "It takes a Village to Raise a Child"

One of the greatest tatics in forming public opinion is often used in a debate between two opponents. One of the best ways to be successful in a debate is to successful “Frame” the debate on your terms.

As I think back to Obama’s acceptance speech, I am struck with some of the things he said. In a nut shell, many of the things he said, he did so as an attempt to “Frame” the days ahead on his terms.

I think one of the most striking comments he made was that of:

We are not a bunch of individuals…

This philosophy speaks to the collective ideals of socialism much in the same way Hillary Clinton did not so long ago when she made her speech.

“It takes a village to raise a child…”

It is also ironic that she said this in the same speech

“I know and you know that Chicago is my kind of town. And Chicago is my kind of village.”

and this

And we have learned that to raise a happy, healthy and hopeful child, it takes a family, it takes teachers, it takes clergy, it takes business people, it takes community leaders, it takes those who protect our health and safety, it takes all of us.

The message under Obama has just been repacked, but essential it is the same.

Throw me under the bus too

Why are they throwing Palin under the bus?

Its very simple why they are doing this. Palin has stood up to her own party and has called them out on monopolistic practices in big oil industries and dare challenge the good ol boy network. There may be many reasons why democrats do not like Palin, but they should at least admire her for the strength of her character to stand up against the practice of coruption and greed behind the curtain.

The republicans moderates are throwing her under the bus as payback.

People often wonder, how are we ever going to bring about real change to washington? It will only happen when people like Palin are willing to call out their own party in an atempt to keep people honest. It will only happen when the people in the republican party are willing to be open and transparent.

The GOP lost this race because it has become as gutless as the democrats, because politics has become a matter of convenience and expediency, rather than one of principled service.

A lack of knowledge and experience is something that can be corrected, but lack of character and integrity cannot.

I keep hearing, let’s not fight or point fingers, we need to keep moving forward and get back to business as usual. I say no. We need to stop. We have a serious rift within our party that is an infected sore that is turning gangrene. I know it sound confrontational, because it is. I know it sounds devisive, because it is. I know it sounds like I am being uncooperative, because I am. What is happening to Palin is symbolic to what happens all the time in the republican party. The republican fiscal conservatives that lean liberal socialy use Social conservatives collectively so as to achieve their goals and objectives politically but then throw them under the bus at the first drop of a hat. They use social issues as bi-partisanship currency whenever conveinent.

I would rather cutoff a limb than have the gangrene spread. I would rather limp on one foot, than stand on two feet without my integrity in tact.

We have been told that Palin was choosen to run on the ticket in order to entice votes from those who supported Hillary Clinton, and when that didn’t happen, they are saying she hurt the campaign. The real truth is, McCain didn’t have the ability to excite the conservative base of the party. Palin was added to the ticket because they knew her values and character were what the McCain ticket lacked in authenticity to ignite the social conservatives of the party, and that is exactly what she did. It was McCain’s job to reach across and try to pull in the independants and secure the moderate vote based on his bi-partisan record. He failed, or rather he wasn’t able to do that.

I have nothing but respect for McCain and all that he has done for this country, but the fact of the matter is, the only reason why McCain did as good as he did, was because of Palin. She held up her end and cause many of conservative base to come out and vote.

If you think I am being too radical or too extreme, then throw me under the bus too. At least then I will know I am in good company with Palin.

The Wise and Foolish Builders

A strategy going forward

The conclusion or summary of “the greatest speech ever given”.

24″Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Might I suggest that while we begin to slowly clear away the debris, that we take some time to consider exactly why it is our house just fell with a great crash.

As we go forward, I would like to make a challenge to those out there to read chapters 5,6 & 7 of Matthew which is the greatest speech ever given. Then break it down as one would a political speech. What were the important issues that he addressed in his first speech?

Here are but a few of the things he addressess in the first part of his speech:

  • Attitudes and Character do matter

  • Stand by your convicions and principles even in the face of suffering or persecution.

  • Rule of law is important

Murder, Adultery, Divorce, Oaths…

In the days ahead as we take up the name of “builders”, the question I think we need to ask, is will we be wise or foolish builders. Will we continue at the expense of our principles to make exceptions, allowances, and comprimises in order to amass as many votes as we can?

I put it to you. I challenge you to take 10 mins and read three simple chapters that make up the greatest speech ever given and that from it you will see some strong, stable and sound foundations with which to rebuild upon.

Ayers, Sirhan Sirhan, Rashid Khalidi, and Obama

Sir Han Sir Han the assassin of Robert Kennedy was one of the persons that Bill Ayers and his wife dedicated a book called “Prarie Fire”.

This was a breaking news alert shown on Fox H/C.

Also, Bill Ayers latest book Fugitive Days is dedicated to a complete list of cop killers.

Since we have learned about the video tape of Obama having dinner toasting Rashid Khalidi, we “again” find Bill Ayers there at the event with Obama.

Surprise surprise. We have gone from “just a guy in the neighborhood” to working with him on numerious organizations, and scocializing together at numerious events, and having his political career kicked off from Ayers living room.

Obama’s Campaign Finance Fraud – the remix

A few more facts

I have made Ecommerce websites for clients for years and know intimately the security checks that online merchant account systems have available. The below quotes shows that the security checks have been disabled on purpose and with intent by the Obama campaign. Knowing the systems as I do, almost all merchant account services require minimum security checks to prevent fraud. To disable these, Obama’s campaign would have to “make the request” and “the processing agency would have to approve it.” Obama’s campaign is denying any wrong doing and Paymentech will not make any statements at this time in regards to the matter.

Source
Ex-CIA Expert: Obama Took Millions in Illegal Foreign Donations
by: Kenneth R. Timmerman

One apparent reason for the unusual number of foreign donors who may not hold U.S. citizenship is the fact the Obama campaign turned off the security features most merchants demand for customers when doing online transactions, such as verifying the card number against the cardholder’s name and billing address.

Another major loophole is the apparent widespread use of gift cards, which notoriously have been used for money-laundering purposes, especially in places such as Russia and Ukraine, industry security analysts tell Newsmax.

Newsmax asked James Wester, a spokesman for Chase Paymentech, who was responsible for taking the unusual step of deactivating the Address Verification Service recommended by VISA USA on the Obama Web site. Such security features can be deactivated by the processing company, or at the request of the merchant, in this case, Obama for America.

Wester said that Paymentech was “not going to be issuing a statement at this time.”

VISA USA has a series of verification tools it recommends to online merchants to prevent online credit card fraud and to guarantee the security of personal credit-card information.

“Fraudsters have been known to test credit card numbers by making online donations to charitable organizations,” a credit-card industry insider told Newsmax, on condition of anonymity.

In fact, by operating as a “high-risk merchant,” the Obama campaign could put both its donors and Chase Paymentech at risk, he said.

“A legitimate online merchant or charity would call in the Secret Service or the FBI” if it saw the high fraud rates that have appeared on the Obama campaign Web site.

“If they are not taking basic security safeguards to prevent such obvious online fraud as you have found, then how can any donor have confidence that they will protect credit card information? But if cash flow is the name of the game, it doesn’t matter as long as they get the money up-front and get the job done. They can pay the fines later,” he added.

The bolded part of the quote above also sheds some light into how many people have claimed that their credit cards have been charged for donations to the Obama campaign, even though they didn’t make those contributions nor would they as they do not support Obama.

I think this is a clear indication of Obama’s lack of judgement or purposeful intent to circumvent the law where finances are concerned. It is a clear stance of the end justifying the means. It leaves one to wonder if Obama’s view of the law is one of convenience and if he sees the law as something to be exploited through loopholes, thereby circumventing the clear intent of the law. Does America truly want a man that has this kind of attitude and mentallity towards law as president and be in charge of our economy?

He who is trustworthy with little will be trustworthy with alot. This goes for not only money, but power as well.

And to clarify, McCain’s website does have security measured inacted for those that make any donations through his website.

Kudos to Erick Erickson & Redstate

Getting some playtime on Rush Limbaugh's show today

I have a profound respect for men like Rush Limbaugh. His combination of wisdom, wit, and humor often put him on the frontlines. It was a high note of my day to hear him mention Erick Erickson’s article here on Redstate.

I know many other influential people come here to Redstate as well to sample from the pool of well thought-out contributions about life principles, America, and the economic/political/cultural issues we are facing today.

Though I still consider myself new here, I have to say I am proud that I chose Redstate as the place to be online. I feel a kindred spirit to many that are here and find myself encouraged in being here. When you have such a climate where the media is biased and lies of omission is the practice by many news agencies on TV and in print, the need will only continue to grow for places like Redstate who will tell it like it is. Or better said, the men and women who make up Redstate, who take a stand and make no apologies for doing so is the example many people will turn to more and more.

I want to thank all Redstate members for being a watchdog group collectively and focusing on the issues.

Regards,

Obama’s Supporters Try to Attack Palin’s Motorcade

Shakes head

You know, someone should tell them that Secret service are trained to run through human roadblocks in such situations as a standard security protocol. This is of course to prevent motorcade ambushes, where they try to stop the motocade so as to be able to attack the car with the dignitary in it.

These people are lucky the police shoved them out of the way or they might have been road kill.

If they are crazy enough to put their lives on the line by standing in the road to block passage, then there is reasonable basis that they are crazy enough to attempt an attack on Palin.

Especially when it just comes out that we have to be extra careful of terrorist alerts as we near election. Creating a motorvehicle blockade is probably not the smartest thing to do.

A Common Thread – What They All Share

A reciepe to destory what's left of conservatism in America

What do Liberals want?

What did/does Bill Ayers want?

What does Rev. Wright want?

What does ACORN want?

What do Democrats want?

What do most of Obama’s supporters want?

What does Obama himself want?

In a word Change. They have all….every single one of says they want to change America. They do not like the America of the past that was founded upon the conservative values.

What is really facing America today is something that has been growing for a long time. Much like a frog sitting in a pot of water with the temperature growing more and more.

With this election, it is very possible that those who hate conservatives and who see us as a dangerious element in American society, could effectively hold the executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch of our government.

They want to re-make America in their own image and with their own humanistic ideals. A few examples of what we can expect to see

  • Gay marraige will be nationally recognised and legalized
  • Government assisted abortions of all types legalized
  • “In God we trust” will be removed from our currency, most likely when the G7 decides that a one world currency is the only way to fix the economic problems that exist and despite protest, Obama, the congress and the judicary will write into law the acceptance of one world currency system.
  • Tax expempt status for religious schools/organizations/churches will be regulated or revolked.
  • Unionization will take place on a large scale forcing businesses to comply with labor demands
  • Socialist programs on a massive scale will be implemented.
  • Businesses trying to move over seas to escape unionization will face penalties and tarrifs on goods that will make it impossible.
  • The right to bear arms will be reinterpreted that only the millita or armed forces are allowed to bear arms.
  • Freedom of speech especially in regards to the press will be regulated and controlled. Any networks against the liberal point of view will face immense intimidation through FCC licensing. Networks like Foxnews and radio talk shows like Rush Limbaugh will be given an ultimatium to conform or face the consequences. They will not conform and thus they will be shut down.

Our immediate problem is this election and seeing to it that Obama doesn’t get elected so that they cannot control all of the power. However I just want to point out that the problem facing America is not just this election. It is against a continually growing number that what to redefine America from our conservative roots to a liberal America.

I hear many who scream in fustration, how can they not see the problems with ACORN, or with Bill Ayers, or with Rev Wright, or with the socialistic agenda of the liberal democrates? I just shake my head at their failure to open their eyes and truly see, that the reason they don’t see anything wrong with Obama past ties, or with the things ACORM is doing, is because they see nothing wrong with them.

What people fail to realize is that Bill Ayers is a collge professor and many liberal people admire him. To a conservative, who’s loyalty is to America and its founding principles, it just doesn’t make any sense. But to those who want to see the old America destroy, just like Ayers did, they see and admire a person like Ayers for standing against the (evil) America. Some may not agree with the tatics he used, but they most definately embrace his philosophies and views of America.

As the list I mentioned above begins to be implemented, conservatives will become more and more hated and feared as they rise up in protest against these things. This will only add to the notion that liberals now currently hold of conservatives, which is conservatism is a form of radicalism that must be stopped. Conservatives will be given a choice to conform to the new system and ideology, or they will be systematically cut out of the system. You will not be able to get healthcare, you will not be able to work at a job, you will not be able have access to education, or even to buy food. And those caring and bleeding heart liberals will only point and say it serves you conservatives right.

I know some of you are saying, gez Rich this is a little bit over the top isn’t it? This is America dude, none of that is going to happen.

Your fogetting my friends that it isn’t America any more, and to think that none of this will happen is because you are using reason based upon America’s founding princples of freedom and democracy. The whole point of this peice is to get you to open your eyes and see that those who are going to be the implementers of this, want to change America and destroy everything and everyone who wish to keep the old America alive. Just ask youself what is the liberal view of the constitution? With control over all three branches of government, they have the power and the means to legislate, execute, and write into law those things which support and agree with the liberal mindset.

This election is giving us one last shot to elect a president that will appoint conservative judges. Should we fail, those Americans that identify as conservatives will become a people living in a land that no longer wishes them to be a part of its society. Only those who will deny and conform will be accepted.

Obama’s Fair Economics

Something to think about

It is a strange phenomenon that often happens in politics whereby some dialog evolves and arrives at a talking point that somehow is accepted as fact. After it is repeated enough and it goes unchallenged long enough, people just accept blindly that it is true.

This is the case when it comes to the talking point that Bush is somehow responsible for the economic crisis we are in. The Obama campaign has used this as their center piece throughout this election cycle by saying over and over that the economic crisis is due to the “failed economic policies” of president Bush, and they then tie in McCain by saying we cannot afford another 4 years of the same.

I am going to take a good hard look at that statement in this article and hope you will indulge me long enough to hear out what I have to say. Oddly enough it was something that Obama himself said during the debate which made me begin to question something I had just accepted without thinking it through. In my opinion it was the biggest mistake he could have possible made. Let me explain.

Obama pointed out that at the end of Clinton’s presidency, there was a surplus, but after 8 years under Bush’s failed economic policies, we have over a half trillion in debt and the economy is in shambles. This made me question why there was a surplus and also it reminded me of some other things Bush inherited when he became president. Like a downsized millitary force due to Clinton closing bases and cutting the defense budget.

Consider this:

The cost of 9/11 = $113 billion dollars

The cost to Rebuild our millitary forces = ???

The war against terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan = $859 billion

Natural Disasters from 2001 = $259.1 billion (Does include Hurricane Katrina at $110 billion but does not include Hurricane Ike)

Hurricane Ike = Numbers are still coming in, but it will likely cost insurance companies between $8 billion and $18 billion and a 22.8 billion dollar bill passed congress to aid Texas.

What do any of the above have to do with Bush’s failed economic policies? I think if you look at it, a case could be made that it was Bush’s policies that saw us through some of the hardest stretch of road we have seen over the last 8 years. Sure times were tough, and when you add up the above price tag, it isn’t hard to see why things were tough, but before the 700 billion dollar bailout, we were holding our own despite all of these things.

I didn’t include the democrat Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac housing scandal that resulted in the collapse of the housing/mortgage industry which set in course a series of events that caused banks to fail, credit markets to freeze up, and a 700 billion dollar bailout that has since been bumped to almost 1 trillion dollars.

It was the Democrat’s economic policies which lead to the collapse of the housing/market by using organizations like ACRON to lend money to poor people to buy houses. They pressured and intimidated banks to make these loans out of a sense of ‘Fairness” rather than on solid fundamental economic principles. Sound familiar? It should because basing economic policies on “feelings of fairness” is exactly what Obama and Biden have been saying they are going to do. People need to understand that it will fail just as the housing/mortgage markets failed because his economic plan is not based in the reality of the principles of business.

Up until the housing mortgage bailout, Bush’s economic policies held up under the pressure of over 1 trillion 263 billion dollars.

It wasn’t until the housing crash occurred to the tune of 1 trillion dollars that cause the economy to fold.

So who’s economic policies cause the American economy to fail? Was it really Bush’s? Or was it the Democrats who waged war in the name of “injustice of the poor”(for votes), which led to disastrous economic harm to the American people because they based their policy on a sense of “feelings and fairness” rather than on fundamental economic principles?

America cannot allow its economic future to be placed in the hands of Obama’s sense of what is or isn’t fair?

Vote for America, Vote McCain.

Jesse Explains What Change in the Middle East Obama has in Mind

The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where "decades of putting Israel's interests first" would end.

When a news article starts out with this:

PREPARE for a new America: That’s the message that the Rev. Jesse Jackson conveyed to participants in the first World Policy Forum, held at this French lakeside resort last week.

He promised “fundamental changes” in US foreign policy – saying America must “heal wounds” it has caused to other nations, revive its alliances and apologize for the “arrogance of the Bush administration.”

The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where “decades of putting Israel’s interests first” would end.

And then ends with this:

“Barack is determined to repair our relations with the world of Islam and Muslims,” Jackson says. “Thanks to his background and ecumenical approach, he knows how Muslims feel while remaining committed to his own faith.”

I cannot see how anyone can be mistaken as to Obama’s Foreign Policy vision for America.

Will ACORN Be Held Accountable?

A case for negligence

Watching On the Record tonight as Greta interviewed Scott Levenson, the national spokesperson for ACORN(spin doctor extraordinaire). Levenson appeared on the record now twice to defend ACRON’s “Get Out to Vote” initiative. In his first Interview with Jamie Colby Levenson had this to say….

“SCOTT LEVENSON, ACORN SPOKESMAN: Let’s talk about what the real story here is because it’s actually a great story. ACORN, along with Project Vote, registered 1.3 million folks over the last year. We saw record numbers of people interested and excited about this election in ways we never saw before. There are poor people and young people who are participating in this election in ways they never participated before. And that’s our mission. Our mission is to enfranchise the disenfranchised and empower the disempowered.”

If your like me, this kind of stuff turns your stomach. They know their guilty, we know their guilty, and yet it is clear that they are going to get away with it. How is that?

Well, when pressed by Greta about the rampant voter registration fraud in the second interview, Levenson responds and defends ACORN by saying…

“By law, we are required to turn over all registrations to the elections board….We do try to identify fraud registrations and bring them to the attention of the election board.”

Now I am sure there will investigations over this, but I see this as them hanging the guilt on those who are filling quotas for money. And even if they can manage to trace it back up to say the manager who sent them out, again the buck will stop there. ACORN its self is shielded from any serious prosecution that will make a difference.

The questions that should be asked here is in regards to their irresponsible procedures. The question should focus on the quota system as a whole and how irresponsible it is for them to use such a system that invites this kind of abuse and fraud.

These same problems have happened in the past, and it is negligence for ACORN to not have changed the system of filling vote registration quotas for pay. Those who are higher up in ACORN should be charged with gross negligence in that they allowed voter registration fraud to happen on large scale proportions and had foreknowledge this would happened due to historical patterns established in previous elections using the same voter registration for pay quota system.

A Teachable Moment

A perfect example of why public education is failing as run by liberals

School Field Trip to Teacher’s Lesbian Wedding Sparks Controversy
Source

“First-graders in San Francisco took a field trip to City Hall to celebrate the marriage of their lesbian teacher on Friday, but opponents of same-sex marriage in the state say the field trip was an attempt to “indoctrinate” the students, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

The field trip was suggested by a parent at the Creative Arts Charter School, and the school said the trip, where students tossed rose petals on their teacher and her wife as they left City Hall, was academically relevant.

“It really is what we call a teachable moment,” said Liz Jaroslow, the school’s interim director, according to the newspaper. She said same-sex marriage had historic significance. “I think I’m well within the parameters.”

California will vote on Nov. 4 on Proposition 8 which seeks to ban same-sex marriage in the state, and supporters of the measure say the field trip shows that allowing same-sex marriage will mean it’s taught to school children, the newspaper said.

“It’s just utterly unreasonable that a public school field trip would be to a same-sex wedding,” said Chip White, press secretary for the Yes on 8 campaign, told the Chronicle. “This is overt indoctrination of children who are too young to have an understanding of its purpose.”

There are just no words to describe my anger at this. Just no words.

Cost of Living Increase Under Obama’s Tax Increases

Reframing the economic debate with how product costs will effect the bottom line for families

As I walked down the grocery isle this weekend I began to look at all the brand names of products on the shelf and I it occurred to me that almost all of these companies would be those that make over the $250,000.00 marker that Obama has laid out in his tax increases.

With a family of four to support, my wife’s and my cart was filled with groceries typical of most families. We had milk, bread, eggs, lunch meat, various dinner type meats, fruit, household cleaning products, paper towels etc…. you get the picture. When we went to the register, the bill came out to $160.00 dollars. I asked my wife what we typically spend each “week” on groceries, and she told me around $190.00 weekly on food.

I did some research and learned that our family fell pretty much into the average for what a family of four spends on their groceries per month here in Southern California. Doing a little figuring, it means that with 52 weeks in a year, we spend on average $9980.00 dollars for groceries a year.

So what is Obama’s plans exactly for increasing taxes on small businesses making over $250,000.00?

GROVER G. NORQUIST

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0708/11670.html

“What type of tax rate are we talking about? Currently, S corporations face a top tax rate of 35 percent, while sole proprietors and general partners face a tax rate of 37.9 percent (since they’re responsible for paying both income tax and the Medicare component of the payroll tax).

Under Obama’s plan to let the scheduled 2011 tax rate hikes occur, and his plan to raise the self-employment tax on those making more than $250,000, the S corporation rate would rise from 35 percent to 39.6 percent. The sole proprietor and partner rate would rise from 37.9 percent all the way up to a staggering 50.3 percent. Many Democrats in Congress have proposed making all small businesses (including S corporations) pay this 50-plus percent rate.

Ok, so S corporations would face a 4.6 percent tax increase, and sole proprietor/partner companies would face 12.1 increase.

If the costs to a single company rise by a percentage for whatever reason, that company has to adjust its pricing model in order to continue to stay in business and still make a profit. If it is found that they cannot compete in the marketplace with other competitors, it is likely they will go out of business. However, if costs rise for all companies across the board, like a tax increase would impose, then it would force all businesses to readjust their pricing accordingly causing a net effect that prices of products will go up.

So let’s take what I spend on groceries per year and apply this.

$9980.00 X 4.6% = $459.08

$9980.00 X 12.1% = $1207.58

Now let’s go over to www.Obamataxcut.com
Fill out the form as follows:

Filling status: married – two earner
Number of Dependants: 2
Closest Adjusted Gross Income: $75k

(or put in your own numbers and use your own yearly grocery cost of living expenses)

Results are according to this website is I will get:

$980.92 back in income taxes under Obama’s plan

$801.59 back in income taxes under McCain’s plan

However, since McCain’s plan doesn’t increase taxes on companies, there is no increase to product cost for companies. So I get to actually keep all of my income tax return under McCain’s plan. If we take into account what I am going to have to pay in increases for products at the store on a weekly basis I would have to subtract the product increase.

If I get $980.92 and subtract the 4.6% tax/product cost increase I only end up with $521.84

If I get $980.02 and subtract the 12.1% tax/product cost increase I end up PAYING $227.56 MORE!

When we talk about the economy, we are not just talking about taxes, we also have to take into consideration how taxes will affect the cost of living. When this is done, it is clear that though Obama may claim that people under the $250,000.00 will get a tax cut, what he doesn’t tell you is that this cut will be rendered mute and in many case will end up making families paying more due the higher cost of living because of product cost increases.

So when we talk about the economy, we need to start including “The cost of Living increases” that families will face. If all we do is talk about how this will effect businesses, or if we stop the discussion there, it leaves a disconnect to those sitting around the kitchen table. By showing how the cost of living for families will increase due to product cost increases under Obamam’s tax plan, it will make it clear why Obama’s tax increases will affect directly their pocket book.

I think if we used “Cost of Living Increases” it would reframe the debate on terms that most Americans can understand.

In Order to Form a More Perfect Union

Understanding why so many Americans buy into Obama’s socialistic vision

Something has been really bothering me of late. When I try to talk with anyone who is an Obama supporter and share some of my concerns regarding him, they just lose it and begin to go wacko on me. Its like they just freak out and the next thing I see is such an out pouring of hatred and anger or I get the dismissive attitude that anything I say doesn’t carry any weight. Normally I wouldn’t even give it a second thought if I was talking to some left-wing nut-job, but some of these people are people I have been friends with for years. And over those years have had many in-depth discussions about all aspects of life and there has always been shared between us a level of mutual admiration and respect.

So what is it that so many American’s see in Obama?

As I pondered this, it occurred to me that a powerful aspect of Obama’s appeal is linked to something very familiar here in America, and you could even say goes back to how this country was founded. What I am talking about is “Labor Unions”.

The birth of America was an act of forming a union and it is no coincident that our constitution begins with the words…” We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union…” The short version of the story which you all know was that the king was laying heavy taxes unfairly upon the new colonies until they had enough and said, “No More!” They tossed the Tea into the drink and well you know the rest. In a manner of speaking you could say those who established America were the first here to strike.

This country has a long history of Unions which rose up to fight against the oppression of the rich who used them for labor without heed to common decency. It is unfair to paint unions in a bad light because they wouldn’t even exist if those business owners would have treated workers in a fair manner. In many cases, unions are formed or started with just intentions. The idea of course is to form an alliance or collective body of strength that has labor value needed for businesses to function. By forming this collective alliance, business owners are forced to negotiate or run the risk of going out of business.

Now as you can imagine, most business owners do not like unions, and its safe to say that unions most of the time do not like or trust business owners. The conflicts that erupted sometimes got brutal and ugly. An example would be the business owner replacing the people with others. This often resulted in those striking to form lines and preventing physically others from being able to do work. Basically, “If we ain’t working here, no one else is either.” Strong arm tactics were used on both sides of the isle.

When a union is working correctly or when a business owner is running their business in a fair way, “A Good days work for an honest day pay.” is the result and everyone’s happy. But just as the business owners abused their power of employees, it didn’t take long for unions to learn that they could abuse the power they had as well. In this way unions extorted business owners and in many cases weakened the business so much that the whole business had to be shut down.

Now fast forward to the here and now. Look at the national stage as it is set. In general terms, you have Wall street which we are going to let represent the business owner and Main street represent labor. The government in this role takes on the role of union leadership and regulates the business owners to ensure labor get a fair shake.

What you have today is corruption on behalf of both the business owners and the union labor leadership. Labor is angry over the current unfairness it has had to endure from those on wall street, and because those who were suppose to be representing their interests have served their own interests by making secret deals with the business owners.

So now that we have a picture and all the players are in place and can fully understand why labor is angry, let’s look at the presidential election through that filter and see if things don’t make sense.

Each of the candidates are seeking to become the head of the labor union. To do that, each of them has to re-establish trust which is no easy tasks. Labor, or the American people, are listening to what each of these men are saying, doing and promising.

If I was forced to describe McCain’s approach, I would say his message to the angry people is, I have the experience, I know what needs to be done and who to hold accountable, I know how to ensure that you start getting a fair shake here, but we have to take care in that we don’t in our anger shut down the plant, because then everyone loses.

Obama’s approach is, elect me and I will bring change. I will get you better employee benefits, I will get you higher pay, I will make the business owners know that they can’t take us for granted and I will ensure that you are treated right.

This is why people who are Americans and who support Obama are buying into what he is saying. I don’t think they see it as a socialistic agenda as much as they identify with the labor union movement feeling that it brings. Obama recognizes this and is using it to his advantage.

They are on strike and anyone who tries to cross the line or support someone else is immediately attacked. To put it another way, America is on strike against those who have taken advantage of them.

There is a good reason why unions are not as popular or as powerful today as they once were. For me, Obama represents many of the things which are wrong with Unions and I believe that his ideas will lead to the whole company being shut down. In fact I have already written an article which shows why I believe the Market is still falling and it has everything to do with Obama leading in the polls and the promises he is making to main street, which are in turn threats to the wall street. (Why the Market is Still Falling)

He doesn’t have the experience or the ability to negotiate effectively a new deal. Being a union leader is one of the most difficult jobs to do. As he told Obama in the debate, you have to be able to walk softly and carry a big stick. McCain has a deep love for the people and the business owners respect him. Obama has done nothing except threaten the business owners. It may satisfy the anger itch many currently have to hear Obama say the things he does, but as far as being the right thing to do, it is universally stupid. Ask any Union person and they will tell you, they don’t want the plant to shut down because they need their job, they just want to be treated fairly and with respect in exchange for their hard work.

I think the above is a good way to understand “some of” Obama supporters. They have a union mentality more so than a socialist one and is why they embrace the type of change he represents because it has that Unionized feel to it.

That’s my take on it, what do you think?

Why the Market Continues to Fall

The by-product and reality of Obama’s economic vision

The market continues to plummet despite everything that has been done to prevent it. Billions have been infuse in hopes to unfreeze credit markets, but so far it hasn’t helped and government officials say it will be weeks before the effects will help. Global coordinated efforts to cut interest rates didn’t slow it down or stop it either.

From a piece of the Associated Press today:
U.S. Has Dwindling Number of Options Left in Economic Toolbox
Thursday, October 09, 2008

“The Fed’s primary tools are lowering interest rates and flooding the system with money. It’s already done plenty of both.”

Experts believe that it should have been enough to bring the problem under control, but it hasn’t. People are a bit confused and angry as to why the stock market continues to fall. Some have tried to explain that people need to wait and be patient for the effects of the rescue package to be felt. I disagree. I think the market will continue to fall steadily and here is why.

The real reason the stock market will continue to slide is because there is even a greater force that is influencing the stock market than the housing/credit scandal.

“A greater force you say? What on earth could be greater than the housing scandal that has taken place?”

To understand the answer to that you have to understand that financial prosperity is inherently linked to freedom. In a nut shell, the reason America has been so successful in becoming the most affluent nation in the world is because we have had the freedom to do so. When you combine freedom with capitalism, you have a combination which allows for entrepreneurism to thrive. What results, is economic growth through innovation, and competition. When left alone, everyone benefits, more jobs are created, products are cheaper and easier to buy, and everyone profits from a higher standard of living.

The stock market is essential a structure that allows people to tap into this boon of economic growth and share in the rewards of it. In fact you could say that our whole economy, our banks, lending institutions, and all manner of industrial businesses are interwoven into the fabric that makes up the stock market. When it crashes or fails, every aspect of our economy feels it. By extension, you could say the same is true for the global economy.

As the AP article above states, we have already pumped plenty of money and have cut interests rates enough that it should have at least stabilized the market, but it hasn’t. Is it truly because it will take time for those efforts to kick in or is it possible that something else is threatening the stability of the market?

It is a known fact that election years always have a big impact on the stock market. The outcome of the elections often will dictate how safe or how afraid businesses and investors feel. The reason money infusions and tax rate cuts have not calmed wall streets fears is because THEY ARE AFRAID OF SOMETHING ELSE!

If this problem with the housing market was the only thing, as bad as it is, I am confident that enough has been done that it would have stabilized the market even if the dollars haven’t reach the various institutions yet. Just knowing that aid is coming soon should be enough calm fears long enough for the money to arrive but it hasn’t.

They are afraid of how the next president of the United States will use the powers of the government to essential destroy what’s left of the free market via regulation and higher taxes.

Throughout his campaign Obama has been speaking directly to wall street and the message he has said is,

(paraphrasing)
I am going to use the power of the presidency to tax you more.

I am going to use the power of the presidency to regulate you more.

I am going to use the power of the presidency to implement government run institutions that span healthcare, education, and whatever else I feel like doing. You will comply or you will be cut out.

I am giving notice to you now that effective immediately upon my acceptance of the oval office, I am now your new boss.

And all the middle class and poor people who support Obama scream yeah! Give it to them Obama! Talk about the econimy! Talk about the economy!

Ok so let’s talk about the economy.

You can pretty much sum up McCain by saying that he does cause a little nerviousness on wall street as he is a bit unconventional when it comes to creating solutions to problems. His 300 billion morgage renegotiation is an example of that, however, when push comes to shove, people on wall street know that McCain will listen to reason and he will not do anything knowingly that will result in seriously jeapordizing the free market practices.

When it comes to Obama, there is nothing new in what Obama is doing than any Democrat has ever done in making blank check promises to garnish votes, with the exception of this. Obama hasn’t even tried to disguise the socialistic nature of his promise for change. In fact you could say that he has assumed the posture of an economic dictator where rich Americans and Big Business is concerned. Much in the same way he forced schools to work with radical organizations like Acorn as the Chairman of the CAC, he will abuse his powers as president and use the legislative and economic powers of the government to leverage businesses and force them to his will.

Now I ask you? Is that free? Maybe to those who look to the government for solutions they see everything he says as promises, but let me assure you that those on wall street see those promises as threats.

As long as Obama continues to lead in the polls and it is perceived that he will become elected, you can continue to expect the market to steadily go down as people begin preparing for what’s to come.

Mr. Obama, when you keep saying that trickle down economics doesn’t work, it only shows how truly ignorant you are as far as economics is concerned. Trickle down-economics is a coined phrased to describe the symbiotic relationship of opportunity with big business in this country. Without big business there is no opportunity! What are you going to do Obama when you tax businesses and they move overseas? What will you tell the middle class and the poor as they lose their jobs? And what will you tell the moms and dads who have to now pay higher prices on milk, bread and eggs and other products they buy on a daily basis because businesses just pass the cost of the additional taxes down to the consumer? Maybe you don’t believe in trickle down economics, but I can assure you that trickle down costs is the reality when you try to regulate and tax big business. It will be the middle and lower class that will suffer the most from your ignorance.

Whether you are ignorantly well intentioned or purposefully deceptive I do not know, but one thing I do know is that the consequences of your purpose economic policies will destroy the freedoms of our capitalistic markets. That makes you dangerous and unable to fulfill the oath to protect American interests, because you sir will be the one destroying them.

Weighing in on Racism

The consequences of loss when false accusations of racism are made

I often contemplate certain words and their meaning, and I am often taken aback by how loosely or carelessly some words are used today. Racism is such a word, and I have never in my life ever taken the word lightly or its meaning. Too many people have suffered terrible things because of it. It is a terrible word, an awful word, a word that is meant to evoke power, righteous anger, shame, and other strong emotions when it is spoken. Lately its meaning has been so cheapened by reducing it to nothing more that a cheap political tactic.

When I was growing up, I was taught that racism was when people treated others wrongly by the color of their skin. It was when people of one race oppressed people of another race using power and control to treat them with contempt and disdain, and to consider their own selves to be superior by the color of their own skin.

The only two ways to combat racism is through education and also upholding the rule of law which allows everyone to have equal rights.. I am for both of these and it is why I feel the need to write about this, because there are serious consequences to accusing others of racism. There are consequences if the charges are true, and there are consequences if such charges are false.

What are the costs of falsely accusing others of racism?

• It causes anger to arise in people being unfairly accused. Regardless of who you are, no one wants to be unjustly accused of something they didn’t do.

• It causes division rather than unity of people between races.

• It can lead to escalation from words to lawless violence under the pretense of justice.

• It cheapens the legitimacy of those who have been truly oppressed by racism in the past, and will encourage others to turn a deaf ear to real cries of oppression and racism in the future.

Mr, Obama, it is not because you are a black man that I don’t like you and don’t want to see you become president. Its because you are willing to cheapen the past of your own people for selfish political gain. Its because you incite people to anger by unjustly accusing them of racism using stereotypes and blanket statements. Its because, though we as a country are not perfect, we have made a lot of progress and your reckless accusations of racism will seek to undo all that has been done. Like Ayers, your irresponsible actions can only lead to revolution where Americans of different races will be pitted against one another. The consequences of your false accusations of racism will not be measured “only” in the hurt and chaos it will bring today, it will measured by how many generations it will take for us to heal the wounds and rebuild trust.

People have a fundamental right to disagree with your economic plans, your healthcare plans, your education plans, and have the right to vote for someone else without being accused of being a racist.

There were many in my bloodline that died and shed their blood in America’s history so that slavery would be abolished in this land. All my life I have endeavored to never allow myself to treat poorly others because they are of a different race from me or think myself better than them. When I served for 8 years as a Marine, I served all Americans, not just the ones of my own race. How dare you and your cronies lay false guilt on me by calling me and others racist because we will not vote for you.

“As a man”, you have been weighed Sir, and have been found to be lacking Sir! It is your lack of character, not the color of your skin which makes you unfit and unqualified to be the next president of the United States.

How to Penetrate the 3 Point Foundation of Obama's Economic Plan

As I sit here thinking over the debate that just took place, it is very clear that Obama has placed all of his eggs for his entire campaign into three simple baskets. Everything, and I mean everything, he has promised he will do rests upon these three simple things. We are going to look at them together so we can truly understand them, and then we are going to show how simple common sense can cut through the lies in such a way that resonates with all Americans and gut the Obama campaign.

First of all, for Obama to bring the change that he promises, he must be able to fund these changes. Tonight in the debate and in recent times past, Obama has put out there how he intends to pay or fund these changes and has used this effectively over and over to deflect attacks by McCain and Palin that he will raise taxes. In fact tonight he went so far as to say that how he plans to fund these needed changes will actually be a cut in spending.

What needs to be understood is that this explanation or tactic he puts forth resonates with people because it is easy to understand. You can argue all you want till the cows come home that it is a distortion of the truth, but as long as it continues to be successful in deflecting the tax increase attack, he will continue to use it. If you take it away, then he has noting to defend himself with and the blows will land as they should.

These are the three points Obama uses to deflect the “increase tax attack”:

1) I plan to pay for many of my purposed changes by taking troops out of Iraq and I plan to put that monthly 10 billion dollars to a better use.

2) I plan to give 95% of all Americans a tax cut by only increasing taxes for those who make more than $250,000 a year. They can afford it and they need to shoulder more of the burden then those just struggling to get by.

3) I plan to go through the Government budget and cross out any and all programs that that in my judgment no longer work. The money I save from this will help to cut spending and increase available funds to spend elsewhere.

Now, if you read those three points, if you are like me, there are a thousand things about socialism, wealth re-distribution, and on and on that you want to bring up in order to expose how wrong these are. The problem is, that has been done and still he is successful using it in deflecting any and all attacks. It almost seems that nothing seems to stick, and if you watch any of the talking shows you can see that hosts like Hannity is at his wits end wondering how on earth can he continue to get away with it and people can’t see it for what it is. There has even been talk starting that says this is very much like Clinton, and how nothing seemed to stick to him.

So how do you address these three clear points he uses to deflect attacks on how he will pay for everything? The answer is simple really.

  • Addressing the 10 billion dollars by removing soldiers from Iraq should have two clear responses.

o First off, Obama cannot predict the future. There IS NO GUARANTEE that he will be able to remove troops from Iraq. By pointing this out you not only show his inexperience regarding responsible troop withdrawal, but you plant the seed of doubt that part of his plan to fund change is “uncertain”.

o Secondly, Obama has said often in the same breath he plans to take troops out of Iraq and send them to Afghanistan because they are needed there. Simple raise the question, how then will you be able to spend that money, since it will have to now be rechanneled into the fight in Afghanistan? Maybe you don’t plan to send very many troops there? I mean he didn’t support the first surge, so why would he support a surge strategy in Afghanistan? The point is made however that he isn’t going to get to recoup that 10 billion dollar a month? Again you plant doubts of uncertainty about the funds that Obama claims he will use to fund his changes.

  • Addressing plan to give 95% tax cut to the middle class and increase taxes on those who make $250,000 or more a year. Again there are two simple points which should be said to expose the distortion of this so that it resonates with everyday Americans.

o The first thing that needs to be pointed out is that even if you are not a believer of trickle down economics, you better wake up and realize that trickle down costs are a reality. Whenever you raise taxes on businesses, businesses never end up paying that tax increase. They simply increase the cost of products or services and Joe on main-street ends up paying for it through a higher cost of living. That means your milk prices go up, the cost of your eggs and bread, the cost of the cars you buy, CDs, cell phones etc… All of these products prices will go up so that the business man can cover his costs. What resonates is…”I don’t want that, that doesn’t sound good at all and doesn’t really help me in my day to day life. As a middle class person I don’t pay hardly any taxes anyway, but I sure will have to pay for an increase of products I buy everyday at the store.”

o As a second point, you simply need to explain in a personal way why businesses go over seas. You put it to them this way, if you are a business person sitting on one side of the room and I come to you and tell you that if you sit here I am going to tax your business 45%. However, if you get up and walk across the room and sit over there, you are only going to be taxed 10%. As a business owner, are you going to sit there or are you going to get up and move over there? You see this makes it simple to understand for people, and then you add on to that, that is why businesses will either close or move and you can be sure that all of the jobs that belong to that business will go with it. Taxing businesses, will result in lost of jobs here and will send those jobs overseas. The connection is “Oh, I get it now, I understand. No I don’t want jobs going overseas. I want them to stay here in America where Americans can benefit from them.”

  • Address cutting the government programs which Obama believes no longer work.

o What criteria will Obama use to determine if a government program is working or not working? Will he use his own judgment? If so, can we expect this to be the same type of judgment he used when he was the Chairman of the CAC and was given the responsibility of handing out over 50 Million dollars to help schools? Because he didn’t do that, instead he used the power of the money as leverage to force schools to work with radical organizations like Acron to teach kids radical left ideologies? What happened to that program Obama? What were the results? According to recent documents uncovered, it was found that after all that money had been spent, there was no improvement in school kids test scores.

o I too have said I will cut spending and programs, but I have also promised to use bi-partisan efforts by having both sides sit at my table and help me work together to reduce government spending in a responsible and transparent way.

Summing it all up:

Come on Obama be honest with the American people. You can’t count on the money from pulling troops out of Iraq because you don’t know for sure if you can do that or not and even if you can pull troops out of Iraq, you said you are going to send them over to Afghanistan and the money will have to be spent there.

Come on Obama be honest with the American people. You can increase taxes on businesses and those who make over $250,000 a year, but it will only translate in people having to pay higher costs for products and services, and it will most certainly encourage businesses to go overseas and take American jobs with them.

Come on Obama be honest with the American people. To cut existing programs requires bi-partisan efforts. McCain (I) have promised to surround myself with people from both sides of the isle to work together to cut spending so that it can be done fairly and not behind closed doors in an arbitrary manner. That’s called transparency and working together. You have made no such promise, and to surround yourself with only people who share your partisan views is only a continuance of the same thing we have ahd in Washington for years.

When all is said and done, Mr. Obama, you are not going to get those funds your counting on to pay for all the promises you are making. Your tongue is cashing checks that the American people will have to pay for in the form of losing jobs and paying higher prices for products and services. A person who shows such a lack of poor judgment by not sitting down and thinking through the consequences of your economic policies, is the last person I want with a pen going through and arbitrarily cutting programs they don’t agree with. Your lack of experience and the exercise of poor judgment you have shown in the past as the Chairman of the CAC in my opinion disqualifies you from having that kind of unchecked power and influence.

When these simple answers are used, you gut Obama’s entire economic plan and expose the reality of how hallow and dangerous his economic policies are. But more than that, you do it in a simple and easy to understand way that will connect and resonate with those who are listening.

The Lost Issue of Education

Striking a cord with parents everywhere

There has recently been a great tug-o-war over the relationship of Obama and Ayers, and with good reason. However, as new information about this relationship has come to light, there have been some equally disturbing facts that have also surfaced. The one I am speaking about is about education and American’s getting to see exactly what Obama means when he talks about education reform.

Not much is known about Obama’s so called community organizing days except for generalizations that have attempted to downplay this time in Obama’s life. It has only been recently that we have actually been able to see some details of what he did as a community organizer and they are truly disturbing.

One of Obama’s only claim to executive experience, is being the Chairman of the CAC, which he received as an appointment by none other than Ayers. As the Chairman, he was given power in the form of over 50 million dollars, that he was to use in helping to reform the schools in the Chicago.

What did Obama do with this money?

He had 50 million dollars of opportunity that could have helped many kids to become better educated in subjects like math, science, and reading/writing. The kind of knowledge needed desperately by kids today if they want any chance of seeking bigger opportunities in which to improve themselves.

Instead of using that money to actually help kids become educated in needed subjects, he chose to use that money as leverage by giving it to radical organizations which resulted in schools having to work with them in order see any of that money.

Can we expect that Obama will use the office of presidency as a continuation of his days as the chairman of the CAC?

What exactly are Obama plans for education reform? He really hasn’t gone into any specifics about how he intends to implement his education reform agenda.

In this regard, McCain has distinguished himself clearly with many parents in America who are tired and fed up with the schools being use as a mean to teach their kids things they have no business teaching them. Perhaps we wouldn’t have such a large dropout rate if the time, energy, and money spent teaching liberal social agendas to kids was rechanneled into teaching them math, science, and how to read and write. McCain recognizes the problem and wants the type of education reform that empowers parents over their children’s education.

The kind of education reform Obama has employed in the past seeks only to empower organizations which teach children other value systems that are contrary to the parent’s value system and pit children against their parents. The organizations encourage children to embrace new liberal ideologies and to ignore or even rebel against their parent’s.

Sound familiar? It should, because this is taken exactly out of the Ayers philosophy play book. Ayers has been quoted in saying, “children should kill their parents”. Does anyone still think that Obama has not been deeply infected by the philosophies of those he has had relationships with in the past?

Let’s get two things straight. Obama is not guilty by association, he is guilty by participation. Obama didn’t work “with” Ayers, he worked “for” Ayers.

Obama, as he always does will say that he has never taught kids to rebel against their parents and such claims are just lies. Well Mr. Obama, you may be right in that you personally have never done that, but you have done something far far worse. You are the guy who worked the system to empower others to do it.

If this election is truly about issues, let me remind everyone that education is a key fundamental issue, and it is one that McCain can clearly distinguish himself form Obama by simply pointing out that he is for empowering the parents over the education of their children, unlike what Obama did as the chairman of the CAC.
