Romney Is Having A Ron Paul Problem At Minnesota’s District Conventions

Paul

There are still four more District conventions to go. So far, Ron Paul has 10 delgates. Santorum has 2. Romney has zip.

Mitt Romney may be the supposed frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination – but he’s not the most popular GOP candidate in Minnesota. Texas Congressman Ron Paul swept the 3rd, 5th and 6th Congressional District conventions over the weekend. Paul landed nine of nine state delegates to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida. Paul also won one delegate in Minnesota’s 7th District March 31st while Rick Santorum picked up two….

I am not a fan of Ron Paul.

you’d include the caucus results, which on Feb 7th yielded:

    Rick Santorum 21,932 44.9%
    Ron Paul 13,228 27.1%
    Mitt Romney 8,222 16.9%
    Newt Gingrich 5,272 10.8%
    Other 141 0.3%

So, it’s quite a lot more surprising that Santorum is not getting much, than Romney not getting much considering his way behind 3rd place finish.

Given that relevant data, your news are in the realm of eh, who cares.

I voted for Santorum in MN.

Here are the results from my precinct.

      Santorum: 33 votes

      Romney: 11 votes

      Paul: 11 votes

      Gingrich: 7 votes

I’m sure you know that those results were non-binding. If Santorum was still in, he’d likely clean up.

Romney’s delegate totals don’t include anything from there. Nor does he need anything from there. And Ron Paul’s shenanigans in MN are pretty much meaningless.

But, I anticipated Romney would get the majority of the delgates with Santorum out of the picture. Although this scenario seems to be playing out in a number of states, I did not see this coming in MN. in 2008, Romney won the caucus overwhelmingly, but the delegates went to McCain since Romney because Romney was out of the race.

enough said. No wonder they want Ron Paul. Sad

They just don’t want “you know who.”

            Sorry. Couldn’t resist. ;)

are just as bad as the OWS nutjobs. They can’t get anywhere through the normal procedures, as no one supports the loony Paul, so they have taken to just disrupting and causing mayhem where ever they show up. There is a good reason they are not welcome at many conservative conventions.

Anyone who supports what the Paulbats do doesn’t deserve to complain about Romney, and I’m not a Romney supporter.

Can’t wait for this old fart bag to go home and sit on his porch rocking the grandkids, and get the heck out of politics.

I’ll leave it to others to decide whether that’s good or bad.
