Miracle on Wacker Drive

For all the flack that President Obama gets here on Red State, he does propose some amazing things that deserve recognition. Today, for example, he said concerning his health care reform plan, “You will not be waiting in any lines.” Let’s be honest: we Republicans would not know how to do that. If we added 47 million more people to the health care system, there would be lines. We wouldn’t even know how to send 47 million more people to McDonald’s without causing lines.

I’m unfamiliar with the details, but apparently there is some provision in Obama’s plan that expands the number of doctors, nurses, hospital beds, etc., to instantly accommodate 47 million more people. It usually takes eight to ten years to school a new doctor, so whatever the Democrats are doing here is a major advance. We should begin sharing it immediately with the Third World, where doctor shortages have long been a problem. Thank goodness they won’t be here, if this plan passes.

The other good thing the plan will do is spend an additional 1.6 trillion dollars. This will prevent Medicare and Medicaid, the government’s previous health care initiatives, from going bankrupt. I know this because the audience in New Hampshire cheered when Obama said that a bankrupt Medicare was not a future he wanted for his children. I wish I could have been there, because we Republicans need to learn how adding 47 million more people to the system will lower costs. And for all the deficit spending that George Bush did, we never figured out how to avert bankruptcy by spending even more money, faster. I wish the reporters would ask Obama how this works, but they never do. I guess they figure everybody already knows.

Did you here on the radio today

some town hall meeting a rep said how happy he was with medicare. Ok Mr. Rep every hospital has a VIP floor and the care is totally different from the other floors except for the units. There is often a very low nurse to patient ratio even for patients that do not require that medically. On the VIP floor there is always 1 nurse to four patients and there is always a nursing assistant for as low as 8 patients. Any rep is going to be on the VIP floor.
Maybe the dems should try and get a procedure or something authorized under medicaid and see how long it takes. Or show up at one of the few primary care offices that accept medicaid for adults and see how long the wait is just for a routine appointment. They shoudl schedule and see how long it takes to get that appointment too!

sorry

this may vary from hospital to hospital.. always was a bad term. I was trying to make the point that being a rep the care he gets is going to be different.

It is rather amazing now isn't it...?

The President keeps telling us how well his plan will work without actually telling us how the plan will work.
He has no actual details of the plan he himself does not seem to have read.
His main argument seems to be to just let him create the biggest govt. program the country has ever seen just because he says it will work.

What it particularly funny is how he tries to demonize the critics of his non-plan plan as if they are all special interest plants like the ones he was using during his campaign. He also used his trusty strawman argument of “those who want to do nothing”
It is very condescending of him to tell people the bad things that they have all heard or read are just rumors and lies.

This is probably the first time in his political career that people are actually examining his words against reality and he is melting like a popsicle on an August sidewalk. It’s as if Obama cannot believe that his song and dance are not working anymore and starts dancing even faster.

Bingo.
And, the drive-by mediia refuses to ask the “How?” follow-up question to any of Teleprompter Boy’s pronouncements. Or those of his shills.

Teleprompter Boy says he will add 47 million more people to the ranks of the healthcare-insured, even though nobody is flocking into the doctor and nurse ranks, and that any bill he signs to cover the 47 million will not be financed by deficit spending, even though the Congressional Budget Office has said the plan is unstainable, and even though Medicare and Medicaid both are running out money and he further claims that “his plan” (I note he seemed to also call it “our plan” today) will not cause anyone to lose their existing health insurance or their current doctors.

How?

Mr. President told us today that “nobody will be standing in any lines” under “his plan.” Really? How will this happen? Specifically, explain how that will work?

Mr. “I’m the President” tells us any bill he signs will be “paid for.” HOW will pay for this, Mr. President? How, specifically?

Explain it to us, Mr. “I’m the President.”

The burden now needs to shift to the proponents of this idiotic, unconstitutional “plan.”

Explain to us, Mr. President, how you will first fix Medicaid and its rampant fraud. How will you fix the fraud? How will you finance it?

Explalin to us, Mr. Presidant, how you will first stamp out the fraud in Medicare. How will you fix it? How, exactly? How will you finance it? How, specifically?

Explain to us, Mr. President, how you will first fix Social Security. How will you do it? How?

Then, Mr. President, after you have explained those solutions to our satisfaction, and implemented them, and shown us that they work, then, maybe, just maybe, we’ll listen to you.

Show us, Mr. President, just one example where socialized medicine works.

Canada? England? Please.

Oh, and then tell us which words in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution give Congress tax and spend authority to control our individual personal life, liberty and pursuit of happiness in the area of our personal healthcare decisions.

When you answer all of these questions, then, maybe, we’ll consider handing our liberty over our healthcare to the governement.

Thank you.

He’s slinging it big time and he is so damn desperate to get this done fast while people are still easy to control. He already burned us on the cap and trade and the porkulus and now he is like “Come on now…you can trust your Ol’ buddy Barack.”
He’s working for somebody but it ain’t America.

If someone was deliberately trying to put this country into the toilet they could not do a better job than Obama is doing now. After all the crap he is trying to makes us eat now he wants to do immigration reform too. This is why I think the Joker poster of him is so bleepin’ on target.
The guy is sinister.

But in order to point it out, the Democrats will have to undermine their whole selling point for the plan. So I’m certainly not going to do it for them. :)

They’re *illusions*, Michael. A trick is something a whore does for money. Or candy!

You are delightfully wicked.

I thought of the same thing, but I didn’t follow it through to it’s natural conclusion: That the other side is not able to argue a perfectly valid point, lest they reveal the shallowness of their entire premise.

Then you taunt them with it. How fun. And wicked. :)

The problem with America is stupidity. I’m not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why don’t we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

How can they listen to his bs???

illinois Tuesday, August 11th at 9:36PM EDT (link)

I still can’t believe how any reasonably intelligent person can listen to his blarney and bold faced lies? I live here in Chicago-land………where Chicago is called the “windy city” because of all the “windy politicians!” Even if you only listened to part of his inane boring blarney—-he contradicts himself all the time. Like today—-talking about the inefficiency of the post office for pete’s sake. And he’s telling all the drooling fools to dump our healthcare system and let the gov handle it? About the post office—-a couple weeks ago I went to the local post office to mail a large envelop. While waiting in line—I noticted that the envelop seal was opening up. So, when I got up to the postal clerk—-I asked him if he had a piece of tape. And, seriously, he says, “mam, we don’t give tape away, we sell it!” And, the Obama droolers are wanting government workers like this moron to take over our healthcare? God help us!

Beats me

Robert A. Hahn Tuesday, August 11th at 10:26PM EDT (link)

I don’t know how anyone could listen to what he was saying today without laughing out loud. And yet… they weren’t. Some were applauding.

The guy makes no sense, he says things that can’t possibly be true, and yet people sit there and cheer.

This is so disheartening. At least a third of our voters seem to be living in la-la-land.

Panel sees race bias in health care bill

izoneguy Tuesday, August 11th at 10:09PM EDT (link)

JUST ANOTHER REASON WHY THIS BILL SHOULD BE THROWN OUT

Panel sees race bias in health care bill

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/aug/11/panel-sees-race-bias-in-health-care-bill/

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights says some little-noticed provisions in the House health care bill are racially discriminatory, and it intends to ask President Obama and Congress to rewrite sections that factor in race when awarding billions in contracts, scholarships and grants.

The commission also fears the programs, which are designed to improve health care in underserved areas, will not be effective.

In a draft of a letter the commission approved Friday, the group raises constitutional questions about giving preferential treatment to minority students for scholarships, and about favoring medical schools and organizations that have a record of sending graduates to areas with inadequate health care services.

“These programs are unlikely to reduce health care disparities among racial and ethic groups,” according to the draft letter obtained by The Washington Times. “A growing body of evidence indicates that increasing access to high-quality physicians - whatever their racial or ethnic ancestry - is the best way to mitigate such disparities.”

“When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.”
Thomas Jefferson

Even if you trusted Obama...

Kyle-MI Wednesday, August 12th at 1:03AM EDT (link)

He is not the one who is writing this bill. He has farmed it out to the Democrats in congress, the same old weaselly politicians who write the same old garbage. Obama is simply the salesman in chief of this clunker. He is lying through his teeth when he says that this bill won’t do this or will do that. He has let congress write the bill and he has basically voted present like he always has done throughout his political career. Even if you believed that Obama is different from all other politicians before him, can you seriously believe that that the old fogies in the Democratic leadership of Congress are different? They, not Obama, have written this bill.

salesman !!! 55555 Kyle-Mi!!!

mom2oneson Wednesday, August 12th at 9:29AM EDT (link)

That is exactly it!!! Same thing with the campaign he knew how to sell like give people a vision and assumed the sale (vote) and he won.

There will be no lines

wennejunk Wednesday, August 12th at 10:25AM EDT (link)

So few things will be covered that folks will not have to wait in line.

Disillusionment will be rampant, such that folks will not bother to wait in lines.

Obama is correct.

There will be no lines.

There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says, in the end, ‘Thy will be done.’ -C. S. Lewis
