MEMBER DIARY

Hopie Yennie

Hope Yen is an Associated Press writer. That’s as opposed to a "reporter", or a "journalist", or indeed anything at all except a propagandist for the Democratic Party and its friends.

Writing about the Census Bureau severing its ties with ACORN, Ms. Yen tells Associated Press readers that ACORN…

has been hit with Republican accusations of voter-registration fraud

Imagine that. Just a little partisan bickering, according to Ms. Yen. Nothing to see here folks, move along.

I guess she’s hoping that her readers have short memories, because it was only Wednesday that the Miami-Dade (Florida) State Attorney’s Office “issued arrest warrants for each of the 11 suspects, all of whom worked for the local chapter of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now or ACORN.”

Another of Ms. Yen’s ‘Republicans’ is the Attorney General of Nevada, which on May 4

filed criminal charges accusing liberal community activist group ACORN and two of its employees of facilitating voter registration fraud in November’s election

If you have a vague recollection that there have been a lot of these incidents all around the country, you’re right. In January, the U.S. Attorney in St. Louis announced the indictment of an ACORN worker on two charges of voter fraud. In June,

Six ACORN canvassers, along with a seventh person, were charged with various counts of voter registration fraud in connection with a 2008 registration drive ACORN said put more than 37,000 voters on the rolls in southwestern Pennsylvania in the run-up to last year’s presidential election.

There are more, but you get the idea. Which is that Hope Yen, operating in her capacity as a “news” person, is actively assisting ACORN and the Democratic Party sell the blatant falsehood that the fine folks at ACORN are the victims of repeated “Republican accusations” — instead of repeated raids, arrests, and indictments from law enforcement authorities in multiple states, plus an FBI investigation and a raid by the FBI on ACORN’s Las Vegas office.

It gets worse. According to Breitbart, Ms. Yen’s “news” story hit the wires at 6:29 p.m. Eastern yesterday. By that time it had been seven hours since The Cleveland Leader began telling its readers that there was a second ‘prostitute’ video taken in a second ACORN office, the one in Washington, DC. In spite of which, intrepid “news” person Hope Yen helps an ACORN board member tell the public,

"the video was an attempt to smear ACORN, and that undercover teams attempted similar setups in at least three other ACORN offices…"

…leaving the reader to conclude that visits to other ACORN offices produced no more scandalous behavior. Which by 6:29 p.m. yesterday had been proven to be laughably false.

When will this Orwellian nightmare end? When will fair-minded people be able to pick up a newspaper and read something approaching the truth, instead of these clean-shaven lies told by so-called “news” people who use their positions of trust to promote their own personal politics? Must we really go through a cycle of watching every newspaper in the United States — followed by the Associated Press itself — go out of business before we see something different rise from the ashes? Is there no other way to get rid of these Democratic Party activists posing as journalists?

This story is littered with errors. A professional email urging the AP to issue a correction and update their wire reports is necessary.

Outside of the errors, Hope Yen’s lede is accurate, but it entirely glosses over the current nature of the Census Bureau decision. In fact, none of the material Yen cites in the lede is even in the CB letter.

From where is she drawing that data to place it in the lede.

She works for Ron Fournier? Why bother writing to him? He’s spent his entire career writing campaign materials disguised as news for Democratic politicians.

Never presume that your words will not matter.

Fournier gets attacked from the left and the right.

Just write to him. It will work. Be professional.

has a long and distinguished history here in the U.S. Hearst and Pulitzer practiced it in their circulation battles, and it’s not very different today.

Eventually, enough people catch on…just look at the numbers: Fox gets a much larger audience for O’Reilly and Beck than MSNBC does for Her Olbermann. The papers are losing out to the Internet. Not only because of people’s changing habits; but also because people are learning that there are valuable, and honest, sites that report the facts without tremendous spin.

It will still take time…but the public moves closer every day.

had one or more independent newspapers all with their distinct point of view. Today, it is all concentrated in a few chains that march in liberal lockstep. Alaska has almost nothing in common with Chicago or SF or Modesto, etc., but the voice of the Anchorage Daily News is not an Alaska voice but rather the voice of McClatchey. That’s true all over the Country and it is why I’ve long advocated that Republicans make news where we make votes. Instead of a high profile presser in DC with all the brand name DC reporters filtering everything we say, have the presser back in the district where the media has to make some attempt to reflect the views of their customers unlike the NY/DC/LA axis of evil that tries to impose its views on the rest of the Country.

is here on the web. This is where the bulk of young people learn about today’s news. And, this is where more of us who are older are turning as well. Sites such as this are our new “local papers” where our views can be expressed.

The Orwellian Nightmare may end in our lifetimes or it may not, depending on how many people in this country summon the presence of mind to realize what they’re being fed by the Associated Press every day, and quite deliberately.

It’s a bold hope that they’ll continue to do so.

In the meantime, I count on the Ratchet Mechanism™.

    With a very heavy heart.

On Glenn Beck yesterday he ran the numbers. ACORN is a Repub issue, as the Dems don’t want to touch it. Why should they want to do anything about ACORN when they are manufacturing votes for them and helping them get elected? Do you really think those 500,000 fradulent votes they admit to (how many more have they not admited to?) creating went to the Rs?

So when Hope NChange, er, I mean Yen, says it is Republican accusations of voter fraud, we don’t see any Dems challenging ACORN so it is true. And that is the problem, why are they not doing what is right for the people instead of what is right for them to get reelected? [Smacks self in forehead] Oh, look who we are talking about, nevermind.

Do you think that saying “Republicans accuse ACORN of voter fraud,” and stopping there without mentioning that law enforcement authorities in several states have arrested, indicted, or investigated ACORN personnel concerning voter fraud, accurately conveys to the reader the probability that ACORN is involved in voter fraud? Or do think it misleads the reader into thinking that “accusations of voter fraud against ACORN” amount to a partisan squabble? And if it’s the latter, do you think that Ms. Yen intended to mislead her readers, or do you think she is ignorant of the many arrests, indictments, etc., of ACORN over the past few years, the most recent just this Wednesday?

So they are not going to have direct ties with ACORN, then which one of the Bazillions of Shell/Shadow sub-organizations that are nothing more than ACORN with slightly different Lipstick (still whoring for the same Pimps)? This dodge is so simple to see through.

    • Achance

group. An ACORN by any name would smell as rank, but they’ll tell us it’s perfume.

even if it were true, to any organization. They have no problem with committing fraud of any kind and there will be, no doubt, ACORN training sessions (like Radical training sessions once held by Obama for ACORN) on how to lie their way into the process so they can perpitrate their falsification of the Census for their DemocratSocialist Masters.

        • Achance

Every Republican AG/DA in the Country ought to be hunting them down and putting them in jail in wholesale lots. ‘Course, that wouldn’t be collegial, would it?

Of course, if we had a legitimate government instead of the Chicago Junta, the USAG would be bringing charges under RICO.

          • Scope

When I read that The Census Bureau (didn’t Obama/Emmanuel/Axelrod take that task into the Whitehouse?) were going to rid ACORN from Censu taking, my first thought was, they will still beACORN operatives, but, will go under another name. Probably the 361 ACORN affiliates will now multiply under still more names. Didn’t Wade Rathke now rename ACORN to some new international name? ACORN will be hard to get rid of, they are everywhere.

          • Achance

Since most Republican elected and appointed officials can’t be bothered to actually learn to run a government, they continue to allow their state governments to feed the hand that bites us. All sorts of federal money gets passed through the states and goes straight thru holdover Democrat bureaucrats to Democrat front groups like ACORN, all sorts of job training outfits, all sorts of public employee training outfits, contract social services providers. I can go on with a longer list but I get too frustrated. Not only is this money intended to feed the hands that bite us, Red State legislatures routinely match the federal funds with their own state funds to add insult to injury.

of us don’t know the stuff that you do from your own experience in gov. The more of us that know, the better chance that something can happen to change things! Share, man, share!

my husband is parked in front of one of the TV’s watching it. I started to ask what you meant by your comment about the pass throughs, but, felt too dumb to ask. Thanks Janice for asking for more info. What do you mean Achance, and, how can we do something about it? Please explain.

          • Achance

Woulda’ made a great weekend; Tea Party in DC, drive down to Richmond for the race. Can’t much less politically correct than that, can you?

Pass throughs are federal funds appropriated back to states and re-appropriated by state legislatures. I’ll write something about it in a day or two. Look for, “Feeding the Hand That Bites You.”

          • Scope

I’ll look for your diary, I really want to know about the pass throughs.

glad you all agree with my original points that ACORN will be involved indirectly through another shell organization and/or by just infiltrating whatever organization is ultimately created/hired to work with the Census. This was/is all just foder for the Politically Brain-dead to fall back to sleep in their Liberal Laziness declaring “but they fixed it by not having ACORN do it” and they are dumb enough, or just want to reside in their Denial, to believe it.

For casual readers and/or those too young to know why this matters…… They have been preparing and practicing with all this Voter Registration Fraud to inflate numbers in Liberal enclaves that have lost population (BLUE-ism trends) and purposefully, and with malice of forethought, work their usual laziness and go out of their way to AVOID folks in other areas to keep the Census count down. Why? Federal Dollar distribution (read: REdistribution, of course) formulas – so that they can continue to bolster Socialist Democrat enclaves (like Detroit, as one, with population dwindling for decades) with funds they could not otherwise make up (read: TAX THEIR OWN CITIZENS FOR) for themselves. Not even the Canadian Socialist Governer Granholm can keep the Detroit Schools from having to finally endure scrutiny and REFORMS to stop a complete collapse. The Democrat/Liberal answer is always Extortion, pure and simple (to raise taxes or avoid/enact legislation) to keep their Socialist Society dreams afloat.

Art is 100% correct that we have FAILED to do more in rooting out the money flow (though, tough to stop it when it flows directly from the Fed to ACORN) by going at these groups. Goes back to all the PLAYING TOO NICE (failings of the McLame types in the Party (Republicans must be the Party of NO [to Bigger Govt.] not the Party of SLOW[er Liberal Incremental-ism] ).
