I have read on two MSM websites ABCnews and CNN (I think) “House Passes $3.45 Billion Budget”. Notice anything wrong? BILLION not TRILLION. While I can hear the Twilight Zone music in the backgroung I no longer think these things are accidents. Any MSM webmaster on the Journolist?

Sen. John Kerry wants the Senate to ratify the Comprehensive Test Ban Treay (CTBT) that was last voted down ten years ago under Clinton and not brought to the floor again under Bush. The US has been reluctant to sign this treaty that bans all future nuclear weapons tests because the nuclear labs cannot insure the safety and surety of our nuclear arsenal indefinately without testing. We want to be able to test in the future to make sure the bombs work.

The Obama administration eventually wants a “zero nukes” world and will see the ratification of this treaty as key to their “silent” strategy of letting the ENTIRE nuclear enterprise “die on the vine”. The problem is that while there are still some in Congress that would oppose the move to zero nuclear weapons and would oppose executive action to do this, what they cannot stop is putting in place a policy of neglect that will allow the arsenal to decay to the point that no future President or military leader in the National Command Authority has any confidence in this key military capability.

Once this is accomplished the cost to rebuild the infrastructure, let alone the time to do it, will effectively de-nuclearize the US. To remind everyone, EVERY OTHER nuclear power is in the process of modernizing their arsenals!

My other point is this; Why do the Dems and left ONLY propose things that weaken the US with no counter balance AT ALL. I am a defense hawk but could maybe agree to deep cuts in the nuclear arsenal if the Dems were going to increase the budget and build up our conventional forces, BUT THEY ARE CUTTING THOSE AS WELL. In fact, I would find it acceptable if they said “Well we are going to build this global missile defense shield so we don’t need nukes” BUT MISSILE DEFENSE IS TO BE CUT. This is insane!

They are changing the Global War on Terror to Overseas Contingency Operation. They may release GITMO terrorists on US soil AND GIVE THEM WELFARE, etc., etc.

If you hired a home security consultant to help protect your home and family and he (as he looks at your silverware) recommended taking the locks off the windows and doors would you think he maybe does not have the protection of your family in mind.

When you add these all together it is difficult not to conclude that our very elcted government in engaged in a policy suicide at best or treason at worst!

Can the Republicans fight Obama and the Dems with a call to arms to Americans to support the Constitution and Free Market?

Now I am massively biased towards the conservative principles of smaller government, less taxes and support for the free market. I get moved when I hear Reagan speak so eloquently about these principles. I get so annoyed when I hear leftists tearing this great country down and building up government. The thought of given more of my liberty to nameless, faceless bureaucrats in some far off city DRIVES ME CRAZY!!.

For me freedom, liberty and capitalism are so far superior to any other economic systems I yearn for someone to not only defend it but to say we need to expand it. I’m the type of guy who goes into a Walmart and looks at the shelves in AWE of the power of the market. To remind people, in the old Soviet Union you had to stand in line FOR BASIC ITEMS and could not even hope to get specialty items. I can go into a Walmart and literally fill and empty house with everything I need FROM ONE STORE AT ONE OF SEVERAL LOCATIONS IN MY CITY. IT IS INCREDIBLE.

We must always be aware fo the fact that the left attacks American capitalism BECAUSE OF ITS’ SUCCESS not its failures. They want you to believe the entire system is corrupt. At protests for AIG bonuses there were as many “Capitalism is Bad” signs as “AIG is Bad” (lumping the negativeness into my own description) America would never change to the socialist utopia they want without tearing the whole system down.

My proof, again look at Walmart. They are the most successsful retailer because they provide affordable products to the most people in history. They have saved people billions upon billions of dollars, that, guess what, gets spent on other things. More jobs and a higher standard of living. The left has targeted Walmart for years, how else can this be explained. WALMART HELPS POOR PEOPLE with cheap products! The left’s policies destroy the poor.

Can we find the “Great Communicator” of these principles? Newt Gringrich and Mitt Romney are good at this along with lesser well known people like Larry Kudlow (run Larry run for office please) and Steve Moore and there are others.

We can win in 2012 but the candidate has to be not only unapologetic in his defense but ARTICULATE.

Obama appears on Jay Leno and takes the blame for everything, which is taking the blame for nothing and is, of course, completely phony.

He said, specifically, hey this bonus thing, bailout, excessive compensation happened before I took office but I’m the President so I’ll stand up and take the blame. Of course, nobody who supports him blamed him or will blame him for anything. The other stupid people say “What a man, what a leader!”

But if you break it down it is a stupid silly statement, “I’m not to blame but I take the blame” I think it would better to say “I’m not to blame, the following people are and I am firing them as of right now!”

That’s what a leader does. By Obama taking the blame he is actually shielding all the incompetence and exposing us to more mistakes.

In a speeech yeasterday Obama said that the Model T got the same gas mileage as today’s SUV. I won’t go into the detail but this is a monumental statement of IGNORANCE beyond comprehension.

If anyone at the RNC reads Redstate, including obviously the diaries section, it is time to start a conservative education project with Youtube type videos. This would be a perfect way to show just how stupid the left is. I believe – although I may be wrong – that voters don’t want to be with a stupid party or ideology.

Rush Limbaugh, of course, made the salient point. Obama has no idea what he said or to critically think about how stupid it was because his teleprompter told him to say something and he did.

Although I was reluctant to listen to the “Daily Show” interview, not wanting to waste my time, I did listen to quotes from the Fred Thompsom radio show.

Firstly, John Stewart (or his writers) know nothing about the financial markets. But as disconcerting was that Cramer could not even answer back with any level of intelligence. Now I know this was because Cramer was “kissing butt” – and should be ashamed - but he talked to Stewart about doing a better job of providing information and then failed to provide information of Stewart’s BS. Secondly, by not calling Stewart an idiot he gives him credibility that he knows what he is talking about.

The difficulty with analysis of these types of media “events” is that the analysis of the ignorance and errors would take a complete economics lesson. It cannot be done briefly and that is what the left counts on. They can shout Bush scewed up the economy and our response is “no he didn’t” or sit down for three hours – at least – and I’ll explain what is going on, guess what happens?

This is the philosophical weakness of conservatism. Our positions take time to explain and understand (just reality I’m not being negative) while the left can say “feed the poor”, “Bush’s fault”, “no war for oil”, “deregulation caused this” or “Cheney/Halliburton” with no follow up. The left has created the perfect lazy philosophy for today’s lazy citizen.

Just watching the World Baseball Classic, Cuba v. Japan. The American announcers were talking about life in Cuba for “star” baseball players being really good. They get free meals and a place to stay for free, WHEEEE!! (I added the Whee!)

But if they express political opposition or try and leave the country without government authorization, how about that morons!

Apparently, these announcers have no idea how major league players live. A-Rod, as I understand it, has mutliple houses in different countries, cars that fill a warehouse and FREEDOM. Oh and by the way are Americans headed to Cuba to play baseball or are Cuban’s fleeing to America?

With this level of ignorance I guarantee they voted for Obama

If you look around the world there has been other leftist regimes that have increased military spending and have had no problem deploying advanced weapons, etc. Why does the modern American left always cut defense but at the same time talk about a DOMESTIC security force?

Could it be that the American left only sees enemies in their own country? Rush is a target but they want to talk to moderate Taliban? Consider this an open thread.
