Why Senator McCain? Why?

Playing nice with the President, Mr. Senator?

Respecting the Office of the President, Mr. Senator?

I know the above are typical of you.

But in this case, many of us will not forgive you.

All the Republicans and conservatives are “unanimous” that the economy has been tanking and Pres_ent Obama is poorly performing his job.

But not you.

You had the courage to make a categorical statement about Obama that he was deserving some “credits”.*

I think you could say that it is a short-term improvement in the economy. And I’ll be glad to give him credit for that. But the question that I think we should be asking are the long term consequences of this unprecedented debts and deficits — are they beneficial to the country? And I think the answer is no.” [See Ref.]

Did you really say that, Sir? I still can’t believe it. (To be fair, I didn’t see you on TV saying those statements.)

Despite the oxymoron, can you explain what you were trying to mean by “improvement in the economy”?

Do you realize what you have just done?   You have discredited your fellow Republicans and more than half of the American people on what they have witnessed with their own eyes in the last 6 months:

The Economy has become worse in just 6 months of Obama’s Pres__ency.  Worse!

The macroeconomic statistics (including a negative GDP) generally support that observation.   Are you referring to the misguided GDP statistics, Mr. Senator?

While the rest of the World are now starting to post a positive GDP growh after the 2008 crisis, Obama’s performance is still negative: -1% GDP growth.

Are you crediting Obama for the bullish stock market in the last 3 or 4 months?   I remember you stopped your campaign when the market had crashed last September 2008.  No, Mr. Senator.   These rallies are still artificial.   Outside factors have influenced that bullish market (still questionable to me if it’s really bullish).  If Obama’s actions have had any influence, any “honest” market analyst will agree with me that they are more of a negative influence, not a positive one.

Retract your statement, Senator McCain.

THE ECONOMY IS GOING DOWN.   Obama’s socialist policies are ill-thought, anti-business and anti-economy!

Please, I have enough of these beltway platitudes, Mr. Senator.   It only creates an unnecessary confusion to the real and honest message of Republicans in the Congress and the grassroot conservatives on the street.

It now time to say “pig when it’s really a pig.”

McCain gives Obama credit on economy

Note:  I don’t usually make diaries.  I’m only an average RS reader.  But this diary is my only way to manage my own anger.  (In short, forgive me if I waste your time.)

HEY REDSTATERS: CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF AIG SCANDAL, ETC.? What about the Not-So Recent Rasmussen Poll?

I know everyone is busy with so many things.      Our hands are full of the following:
  • The AIG Fiasco.
  • The Stimulus Packages.
  • The Budget Deficits.
  • Brown’s visit.
  • Hamas, Syria, Iran, Russia, etc.;
  • CA’s SC’s Gay Marriage
  • Tax Increases
  • Illegal Immigrants
  • MSM Attacks on the Pope …..  and so on.
Maybe it’s just me but I’ve noticed that no one seems paying any attention to this very irrelevant Rasmussen report last March 17:
Generic Congressional Ballot
Republicans Take Small Lead on Generic Congressional Ballot
If you must know, the current score is 41-39 in favor of the Rs.
This is the first time that the Republicans have taken the lead from the Democrats since 2006 Elections.
I just thought that some of you might get interested on this non-news story (‘though it’s already 2 days old.)
Thanks for your precious time.   You may now go back to more important and pressing things.

Reuters’s “Israel-Hamas Violence Disrupts Gaza Truce” News: A Welcome Surprise or a Early Test for Obama?

Relatedly: Jewish Journal says 78% of the American Jews voted for Obama.

Reuters has reported that the Hamas fired dozens of rockets at Israel on the same day (possibly earlier) that the MSM declared that Barack Hussein Obama would be the 44th President of the United States of America. An excerpt from Reuters report Israel-Hamas violence disrupts Gaza truce Wed Nov 5, 2008 10:23am EST is as follows:

Hamas fired dozens of rockets at Israel on Wednesday after Israeli forces killed six Palestinian militants in an eruption of violence that disrupted a four-month-old truce along the Gaza Strip’s frontier.

The rocket attacks, which included salvoes that landed in the coastal Israeli city of Ashkelon, caused no casualties.

Sources in Hamas, an Islamist group that runs Gaza, said calm could return if Israel did not retaliate. Israel’s defense minister also signaled it did not want the truce to collapse.

A breakdown of the Egyptian-brokered Gaza ceasefire would pose yet another challenge to U.S. efforts, opposed by Hamas, to achieve a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians.

Relatedly, the Jewish Journal has reported that 78% of American Jews have voted for Barack Obama. Obama—who won 78% of Jewish vote—faces global disarray, Mideast challenges. Said report quoted an UCLA political scientist as follows:

No matter who was elected president, they would have to to re-accrue the political capital squandered by President Bush in his last years of office, said Steven Spiegel, a political scientist at UCLA. Obama, however, makes a better case than Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), his Republican rival, Spiegel said.

“What Obama is really offering is the olive branch in one hand and the other is a fist,” he said.

Olive Branch and a Fist from President-Elect Obama! As an American, I hope that this technique of “finally ending the conflict in the Middle East” by Obama will work. After all, it’s one of his promises, right?

My take:

  1. I do not really believe that the Democrats’ rant against Pres. Bush will be over after January 20, 2009. I think that even the failure of the Democrat-run Federal Government in the next 2-4 years will continue to be blamed against the Republican Party. As per Michelle Malkin, Gird your loin! Conservatives and Republicans!. The endless lies and blame games of the democrats and MSM may still continue.

  2. For the 78% of the Jews voted for Obama, I just wish that you are all correct in choosing your next president. I hope that Pres. Elect Obama meets or even surpasses your expectations. After all, it’s for the good of every American.

  3. Paging G. W Bush and John S. McCain. American Jews remain to be heavily democrat and liberal, no matter what sacrifices you do. (No offense meant to Sen. Liebermann.) For one, my Zionist viewpoint has already faltered.

  4. Could this be Joe Biden’s prophecy on Obama’s first 6-month test as President?

McCain is “QUICK” in conceding to Barack Obama!

We may have lost the battle... but the War continues! Watch out the RINOs!

So it is written… Barack Obama is the 44th President of United Socialist State of America.

Post Mortem:

Let me take this opportunity to say my farewall to President Bush. Thank you for the last 8 years by making our country safe. I have forgiven you in all your shortcomings. I wish that you help us rebuild our party again for the future of our children.

I salute the true American Hero, Senator John McCain, for being the most honorable American presidential candidate. He has shown his true love for America, despite of defeat.

I thank the undisputable Strong Lady from Alaska, Governor Sarah Palin, who has valiantly fought the battle with grace and a heart-warming smile, despite of all the personal attacks against her. Anytime you want to start your campaign for 2012, always count me in.

My heart goes to Sen. Elizabeth Dole, my senator. Despite the loss, I truly honor you, my great Senator.

Stop the “Blame” Game!

Please, fellow republicans… stop the blame game. It’s not really John’s fault. It’s not really Sarah’s fault. We would suffer the same if we had had nominated a different candidate (say Fred, Rudy or Mitt).

Stop listening to those conservative traitors and RINOs who colluded with the socialists and the Anti-Americans. In addition, the major enemy of the Republicans are the lies of the mainstream media against the conservatives and republicans. MSM has really destroyed the Republican Party in the last 8 years. They have lied against President Bush and “us”. And they think they can get away with it.

Let the Obama Chronicles begin!

The next phase of our battle begins today. Like what the Democratic Party did in 2000, there should be no honeymoon. We must always remember those promises made by Obama and assess all his actions against his words in the next 2 years. Check out all those minions, the traitors, and other sycophants in the tank of Obama.

Obama’s presidency is a long, long night of fear and uncertainties. I consider myself now as the conservative Nightwatchers! Let us closely watch every move of the forthcoming Democrat-run Federal Government. Let us a make a case whether Obama is really what he and the Democrats say he is. We must not allow the Democrats further destroy our country.

Conservatives from Colorado, Nevada, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Ohio Pennsylvannia, and rest of the America… don’t be disheartened. We may have been defeated today but it’s just one of those many battles ahead of us. Let us do the groundwork. Let us work together again and rebuild our party, our policies, our principles, our courage and our love for America.

Onward, my fellow conservatives… join the march….let’s fight and win the War against Socialism and Liberalism!

HillBuzz: US Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, a latino, endorses McCain for President!

Will it create positive impacts in New Mexico and other latino-rich states?

Hillbuzz reported that Secretary Gutierrez has endorsed McCain. Gutierrez is a former chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Kellogg Company and is a good example of American Dream for hispanic immigrants. Here is the link.

However, Secretary Gutierrez is somewhat tied to the unpopular Pres. Bush. In addition, it may be too late already. In the case of New Mexico, Obama has lead above the margin of error. But I do not know how influential Sec. Guttierez still is to the hispanics, knowing that Governor Richardson has been most covered hispanic political figure in the last 12 months.

Nonetheless, my instinct tells me that the hispanics still have the highest regard and respect for Secretary Gutierrez. And it doesn’t matter whether the endorsement seems to be “late”. There are still more than 24 hours for the hispanics to learn of Sec. Gutierrez’ endorsement of McCain and reconsidere their decision.

My take:

Silly me! I’ll just pray that all hispanics out there shall listen to Sec. Gutierrez. In times like this, we say that “it’s not over until it’s over.”

Post-Poll Depression: October 30 Poll Results

After McCain being down in the polls for almost 6 weeks, no poll result can make me depressed anymore.

I lost faith in the polls since the second week of September. In the last six weeks, I have considered myself suffering from poll-result depression. Seeing poll results that gave Obama a lead up to 15% made me sick and nauseous. Maybe I was part of those who got the virus being spread by the Team Obama. Said virus was first used to attack the Hillary voters. The survivors are now called as the PUMAs. Thanks to Hillbuzz for making a correct prognosis of my disease. Three things the Obamedia will do to depress republican turnout and help Obama.

Thank God that I have successfully gotten rid of it. Thanks to the encouragement of my conservative friends, RS diaries, the PUMAs, Joe the Plumber, Sarah Palin’s encouraging speeches, the AT, and other conservative bloggers. I am a healthy man again. Now, I am more confident that no poll result can ever make me depressed again.

My cure? Reading the advice of National Center for Public Polling . Here is the list of key questions that NCPP recommends in assessing polls.

  1. Who did the poll?
  2. Who paid for the poll and why was it done?
  3. How many people were interviewed for the survey?
  4. How were those people chosen?
  5. What area (nation, state, or region) or what group (teachers, lawyers, Democratic voters, etc.) were these people chosen from?
  6. Are the results based on the answers of all the people interviewed?
  7. Who should have been interviewed and was not? Or do response rates matter?
  8. When was the poll done?
  9. How were the interviews conducted?
  10. What about polls on the Internet or World Wide Web?
  11. What is the sampling error for the poll results?
  12. Who’s on first?
  13. What other kinds of factors can skew poll results?
  14. What questions were asked?
  15. In what order were the questions asked?
  16. What about “push polls?”
  17. What other polls have been done on this topic? Do they say the same thing? If they are different, why are they different?
  18. What about exit polls?
  19. What else needs to be included in the report of the poll?
  20. So I’ve asked all the questions. The answers sound good. Should we report the results?

As long as “not beyond 20% lead for Obama”, I can handily accept poll results. It’s my first time again to visit the RCP website and see the status of the polls. I can now even smile while reading poll articles. Let me publish here the October 30 results of RCP (basically October 29).

poll

Fox, IBD and the Battleground numbers are very promising. They are generally consistent with the exit polls of early voting in Florida and Virginia. They are consistent with the turnouts of the people who went to the recent McCain/Palin rallies in the battleground states. The rest of other polls are bogus to me especially when I apply the NCPP rule. Their assumptions on voting preference of the registered voters are simply not true. There are many Registered Democrats voting for McCain than what has been assumed by these biased polls.

Even the Rasmussen and the Traditional Gallup can nolonger be trusted. They moved their numbers today +2 points in favor of Obama. I suspect that these two polls make “an implicit assumption” that the recent Obama’s Informercial would give more votes for Obama. This is simply untrue. Only the solid Obama fans are pleased with the informercials. Some of my independent friends find the said informercial “disgusting” as Obama teaches America to cling to Government for food and shelter… and never to rely on their own God-given talents and strengths to create “new wealth’ that will permanently make themselves better.

Obama now leads in Rasmussen and Gallup Traditional by 5 points. But who cares? I am now more fascinated with the turnouts of the exit polls on the early voters.

Early voting in FLa: Poll gives McCain lead in Fla. early voting.

PA: Strategic Vision says Obama’s lead down to +4. Sampling error: +/-3.. Add the fact that PA Governor Rendell is panicking. Add NBC/Mason Dixon Poll saying that its O+4 in PA with 9% undecided

VA: Marist Polls says Obama’s lead down to +4.

NV: Heavily democrat Clark County with 26% edge by democrat early voting turnout only gives Obama alead of 2% over McCain. Thanks to PUMA.

Absentee Voters in Israel: McCain has a sweeping lead.

[Rasmussen poll results] (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/oldercontent/home/mostrecentarticles/mostrecent_articles) in Ohio, NC, and VA is a rollercoaster ride within the margin of error.

Nonetheless, I won’t be intimidated by national poll results anymore. Less than a week before the main election day, I am now more interested on the minute details of the news, rather than on the national poll results with inherent margin of errors and high degree of undecideds.

A conservative friend of mine (he’s a Jew) has advised me to continue to pray to my God and ask that it is God’s will to elect the McCain/Palin ticket as the next leaders of our great country.

What matters now is for all the conservatives and independents out there to vote for the McCain/Palin ticket in order to preserve our liberty as Americans. It is our liberty to create wealth and to make something good for ourselves that will save us from our current economic woes and other social problems.

Let’s get it right! Let’s oppose the One-Party Rule of the Democrats even though 34% of Americans are “alleged” to favor the same. Let us UNELECT OBAMA!

Let’s vote for McCain/Palin ticket!

Never mind the biased media-based polls.

Will Joe “the Plumber” Wurzelbacher Suffer the Same Fate as Sarah Palin?

Joe the Plumber must start to protect himself from the wrath of the Far Left

Remember how the media and the far left attacked Sarah Palin when she was introduced by Senator McCain? Our new Average Joe, Joe Wurzelbacher, may also suffer the same scrutinity from the Obama minions, including the MSM.

Somehow, Joe the Plumber has become a pain in the neck of Obama. In the last debate, McCain has even introduced the case of Joe the Plumber against Obama’s tax policies. Joe the Plumber is now at the center of a political limelight as an Ordinary American questioning Obama’s economic plan and policies.

To start the ball rolling, it was the original Average Joe, Obama’s own VP Candidate Joe Biden, who has started the vetting of Joe the Plumber. His basic inquiry is whether Joe the Plumber has “the right credential” necessary for him to be considered as a blue-collar American. Here is the video of Joe Biden raising the issue of the authenticity of Joe the Plumber.

Now, ABC News started the media spinning of Joe the Plumber to work against McCain. Here is an ABC News blog on its interview with Wurzelbacher. Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan ‘Infuriates Me’. The introductory statement is as follows:

John McCain may have found a blue-collar face to help him argue that no American — not even the richest 5 percent — should pay higher taxes.

It is obviously a venomous spin attempting to confuse the people on the issue raised by Joe the Plumber and, at the same time, attacking McCain. To be fair, however, the ABCNews did not totally disregard Wurzelbacher’s total distate of Obama’s tax plan and “wealth redistribution” policy. Here is what ABCNews reported:

“Joe The Plumber” has weighed in on Wednesday’s presidential debate and he says that Barack Obama’s tax plan “infuriates me.”

“To be honest with you, that infuriates me,” plumber Joe Wurzelbacher told Nightline’s Terry Moran. “It’s not right for someone to decide you made too much—that you’ve done too good and now we’re going to take some of it back.”

That’s just completely wrong,” he added.

The last line of Joe the Plumber in above hits the nail: OBAMA’S PLAN IS COMPLETELY WRONG.

Moral of the Story?

Anyone who questions the wisdom of Barack Obama will undergo a hell of criticism from the Dems and their minions.

There may never be “big October surprises”. But small surprises can still come by.

The Crowd Saw A Hollywood Star? No. It’s just Sarah Palin who went to WalMart to get Trig’s Disposable Diapers

One thing remains true: Sarah is still very popular and likable despite MSM news stories.

Here’s the coveted video from breitbart.tv:

SARAH!!

I don’t know how to take this. It’s like my VP Candidate has been treated as a Queen of the Tinseltown.

Is it good or bad? I don’t really care. I’ll just think that Sarah has really become a major crowd drawer and her popularity has not really waned, contrary to what the people ?) in the MSM say.

My Apology to comrade Birdmojo: The Hate-driven, Socialism-driven Progressive Third Parties and their Influence in 2008 Election

Colorado as a Case In point: "I see regular people fighting over legitimate issues."

Silly me! I hurt my brother’s feeling with my stupid comment on the political issues in Colorado Springs. Here is my original comment:

I see regular people fighting over legitimate issues. While the reps/cons are busy fighting, the ACORNs are watching in the sideline…busy doing all stealth election frauds to dictate the winner.
The first statement struck our brother Birdmojo hard.

First and foremost, I recognize that the Conservatives and Republicans including birdmojo in Colorado are fighting an uphill battle against the Democrats who advocate for heavy regulation (i.e., American style socialism). I truly support their fight against the Democrats in all issues confronting our country and our local people nowadays, not just in Colorado. But for Colorado, I hope and pray to God that Schaeffer wins against Udall in this coming election.

When I said “regular people fighting legitimate issues”, I refer to the usual Republicans vs. Democrats fighting what is best for our country. I do not mean it as a putdown to the issues of being fought by our fellow conservatives. I fully understand the grave implication when the Socialists and Anti-Americans win this election. When I wrote that, I was thinking that “there’s something that more than meets the eyes”. At the outset, we find all the issues that you have mentioned either in Colorado Springs or in the rest of Colorado as nearly (if not exactly) the same issues being fought by the conservatives in all corners of America. Behind the scene, there have been forces working against us since President Bush won his secnd term in 2004.

We know what are at stake in this election: (a) A possibe filibuster-proof Democrat-run Congress; (b) New appointments in the SCOTUS; and, (c) the White House itself. With the media making a good cover of Barack Obama and the rest of the Democrats, I think that even the US Constitution, the very fundamental law of the land, has the possibility to be changed by the Democrats for their own purposes.

What makes me so adamant about this election is the “argument” coming from the Democrats and the media:

If a Democrat Presidential Candidate can’t win this election in a year most favorable to the Democrats (the Democrats’ year), we (Democrats are speaking) might as well never see a Democrat President in the White House in a distant future or even forever.

I believe this argument describes the frustration among the democrats and why they need to win this election at all costs. They see this election as the “litmus test” of the future viability of their party and their chances to attain their political goals… which are unfortunately proven to be disastrous to our economy, our liberty, our security and our own American identity. But why the frustrations? it’s because that the Democratic Party and its minions have planned and worked for their win in this election since 2005.

I think that many of us are all fighting against the democrats with the usual assumption that the “rules of the games” are still the same like in previous elections (except maybe in 2006). In that case, I believe that we are committing a mistake. Thanks to the wisdom of our conservative leaders who have correctly observed that this is a very “unusual election”.

Why? It’s my own conviction that the Democrats have added a new variety in this election that makes it a different ballgame. It’s not a really an ordinary election inspite of the fact that the imminent threat of socialism is more visible than ever. The factor that makes this election specially different is the strong influence of the “emboldened” Fusion Strategy of the hateful progressive Third Parties 1/, the grassroot machinery of the Democrats lent by the commies and socialists working within it (thanks to Howard Dean of DNC).

My case in point is Colorado. In the said state, we have the mighty Colorado Progressive Coalitioncomposed of many third parties and organizations wanting to end the days of the Republicans and Conservatives. This is on top of the efforts by other socialist third parties like ACORN. Specifically in Colorado, I believe that these “aggressive” socialist third parties were responsible for the win of Udall in the previous election. 2/

ACORN, as many of us here in RS now realize, has also become a formidable force. ACORN is specially STRONG in Colorado. Specifically, Colorado ACORN has three (3) main local chapters in Colorado: Aurora, Colorado Springs, and Denver. ACORN has also been very strong in other states. It should be noted that ACORN is tied up with AFL-CIO and WFP along with Democratic Socialist of America and CPUSA.

With regards to the issues, the names of these groups are misleading. Many would think that each of these groups is only working on a particular issue. For example, many Americans usually think that AFL-CIO and WFP are only related to “union members and their welfare of their families”. In the case of ACORN, it is normally viewed (thanks to the MSM) a group working only on voter registration (because that’s what the people only hear from MSM.) Truth be told, ACORN’s main activities are advice in housing loans and even in tax preparation (how to be exempted) targeting poor families and street people. And who knows what other “advice” ACORN is giving to its members and the communities it “serves”.

But the devil is always in the details. As I’ve said in above, these groups have strong ties with CPUSA and DSA. Their leaders are “covert” supporters of socialists both at national and international levels (assuming they are not members. If we study these organizations and how they work with their members, we might be surprised that these groups have been actually conducting subtle “indoctrinations” towards socialism and communism. I can only assume that their members have had no idea on what their organizations have been teaching them.

It’s getting long already. My second apology. But my main point is this:

In the viewpoint of the third parties working with the Democratic Party, everyday since 2004 has been a regular election campaigning day. Fight of the Conservatives in Colorado might be too late.

Thus, it is really gargantuan task for McCain and Palin to win this election. This has also been the reason why Pres. Bush’s popularity sagged to its lowest level since 2005. We need to undo what these third parties have done in brainwashing our people using their misguided logic. 3/

I wish I was wrong. Good thing is that Schaeffer has substantially cut the lead of Udall recently.

I have no “direct” proof to justify my opinions as stated above. I only have this: In a 2005 article, The Power of The Fusion Politics, we can see the following quotes (referring to the loss of Kerry in 2004):

“How many times do we have to pour millions of dollars into the Democratic Party, and thousands of volunteers? And then hoping even if they win, we still have to get them to pay attention to us?

“If we do nothing and hope to simply influence the Democratic Party, that’s doomed to fail… how many times do you have to lose before you make a change?”

These are actually 2005 statements from third parties. Their eyes have been fixed to 2008 election…which is now.

In summary, while we are fighting with the Dems on the “legitimate issues” to win this election, some of the votes (at least 40-45% based on my observation of the polls) have already been set for the Democrats (specially Obama) to win this election.

Thus, we are actually the ones who have been “hoodwinked” (to borrow Obama’s and Malcom X’s words) by the leftist third parties. 4/

Notes:

1/ Fusion Strategy has two meanings for a socialist third party:

  • (1) A strategy separating the vote for a third party from of the major party. This is supposedly the real goal of ACORN and the Citizen Project in Colorado.
  • (2) A CPUSA Michael Harrington’s strategy of dominating a Major Party (Democratic Party) by a third party (CPUSA).

2/ For me, the same explanation applies to other “surprise winners” in many red states during the 2006 elections.

3/ This is also the reason why I don’t believe that “positive campaigning” as offered by the liberal MSM will do wonders for McCain and Sarah. We need to hit hard to destroy whatever the Dems and these third parties have established in the last 3 years.

4/ I also think that Hillary Clinton was also hoodwinked by the “very far left” during the primaries.

McCain Sent his Candidate VP Family to Reach Out Common Americans Like Us

VP Sarah came out ALIVE from Philly!

Sarah, Todd and even Piper are everywhere campaigning for the Republican Party’s ticket.

Palin successfully dropped the puck in Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. Surprisingly, there’s not much booes (although sportswriters and NY Times made a big deal out of it.) Rangers center Scott Gomez and Flyers center Mike Richards showed their sportsmanship, something that irritated the NY Times. In the end, it was the most “behaved” crowd I’ve ever seen in a hockey game.

On a plus side, Piper is so cute! My son has a crush on her…sweet!

Meanwhile,Bangor Daily News has a positive report to Todd’s visit in 2nd District of Maine this Saturday. He was enthusiastically received by a good number of people at the Moosehead Trading Post.

Todd Palin in Maine District2

Despite the TrooperGate Report, the Palin Family amazingly continues to do their tasks for this campaign… UNHARMED. That’s the good news. I have a renewed and more solid respect to this wonderful family.

The Palins are really “one of us.”

O’Reilly to Barney Frank: “You Are Not Man Enough”

Gaybashing?

Some say that the fiery words from O’Reilly have double entendre for “gaybashing”.

I guess that depends on who’s watching.

But on the substance of discussion, I think O’Reilly has properly nailed Barney Frank on one of Frank’s many culpabilities in the Fannie/Freddie fiasco.

In short, Barney Frank must go!

Good work, Bill! Keep it up.

Just side with the people, Bill. That’s enough for me. I will forget that you’re a liberal/conservative, whatever that means.

Sgt. Ryan David Jopek’s Father: The Bracelet was… between Obama and Wife Tracey… Not For Getting Votes!

Let us respect the request of the Jopek family not to use the bracelet in political campaign.

Newsbusters’ Warner Todd Huston (a friend of RS?) has reported that Madison resident Brian Jopek, the father of Seargent Ryan David Jopek, has been pleading to Barack Obama to stop wearing his son’s bracelet as a campaign propaganda. Link

Obama has been mentioning the bracelet in his campaign trail. Sadly, he still couldn’t memorize the name of the Sgt. Jopek after the several times he used him in his campaign.

Many of us (including me) nailed Obama for forgetting the name of the soldier. It was due to the fact that we had had no prior knowledge of the said repeated request from the family of the Ryan.

To Ryan’s family, if our reference to the bracelet caused any pains on your side, please accept our apology. We mean you no harm.

Even if Ryan’s mother is a supporter of Obama, we have a duty to respect the wishes of Ryan’s family. After all, Ryan was, is and shall always be a true American hero in his own right. Let us honor Sgt. Jopek, an American hero, by respecting the wishes of his family.

To our patriot, Ryan Jopek, we salute you and honor you. We will always be thankful and remember your sacrifices in making America safer. To Mr. Brian Jopek and family, we extend our honor and admiration to your family for the bravery of your son, a true American.

You can visit Sgt. Jopek’s website here.

The Audacity of Barack Obama’s Arrogance: Obama’s Latest Gaffe – a sign of Megalomania?

Arrogance is what many of us think you are unqualified to be a President, Barack.

McCain has suspended his campaign to do his job as a Senator of the United States of America to take leadership at the time of worst Financial Crisis ever hit the Wall Street in the last 10 years.

Obama chided McCain that he can do both things at these troubled times: (i) Foreign Policy Debate for the next presidency, and (ii) addressing the wall street crisis. For Barack Obama, that’s leadership.

Obama spinners said that because McCain is losing election based on the polls, he caved in to the debate whose topic is McCain’s strongest suite.

The above may have some bearings, except when Barack Obama made his statement.

With respect to the debates, it’s my belief that this is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who, in approximately 40 days, will be responsible for dealing with this mess.

And I think that it is — it is going to be part of the president’s job to deal with more than one thing at once. (Source)

Obama is seriously wanting to proceed with the debate because, according to him, Americans want to hear from the man who will be responsible for this mess starting 40 days from now.

So’ where’s the gaffe?

But if Obama wins the election during the election day, he needs to wait until January 20, 2008 to take over from President Bush. That is 117 days from now.

*If it’s not a gaffe, then what is it? *Some people will take this differently.

  • That Obama only wants the power and glory.
  • That he can’t wait to be in the White House.
  • That he can’t wait to be called the President of the United States of America.
  • That he uses the American people to hide his real motives.

That’s the real Obama plan. That’s the Democrats’ main plan. That’s what Obama and the Democrats think as the solution to the current Wall Street crisis.

Deep in his heart, does Obama really love the American people? Does Obama really care for the welfare of the American people? No. He loves himself more than anyone. His statement shows a STRONG EGO.

That’s the reason why some of us are wondering.

Is Barack Obama a megalomaniac?

Maybe not… only if Obama admits again that he has just made another gaffe, more distasteful than the previous “My Muslim Faith” gaffe.

PS: We don’t want to believe that he is a megalomaniac. We are just asking him to concede that he made a nasty gaffe.

Hibberd’s Live Feed >> Murdoch: Obama’s economic policies are ‘naive’

More High Profile People Are Saying Things Against Obama

Many of us believe that the Murdoch family is under the tank of Obama especially his daughter. However, this Live Feed’s Hibberd has reported some unexpected statements from Rupert Murdoch himself. The link is inhere.

Among others, Hibberd has mentioned that Murdoch has not regretted the New York Post’s endorsement of the McCain/Palin Ticket.

Following are Murdoch’s major statements as reported by Hibberd.

1. On Obama’s Economic Plan

“I* am very worried. I like Sen. Obama very much. I have met him. He is a very intelligent man. But his policy of anti-globalization, protectionism, is going to be — and card checks — are going to do two or three things. It’s going to give us a lot of inflation. *They’re going to ruin our relationships with the rest of the world. And they are going to slow down the rest of the world, too. And they’re going to make people frightened to add to employment. You are going to find companies leaving this country if it’s — if you put a protectionist wall around it. You’re going to get — his policy is really very, very naive, old-fashioned, 1960s.“

2. On Sarah Palin’s call for regulation:

I think they have been sending out different signals, but I think what she says is right. Clearly, there has to be some more regulation, but we have to be careful what that is. It could make things a lot worse. The more you get the politicians in that don’t know the first thing about banking, even less than me, and God knows what might come out of it.

It gives me confidence that as November 4 gets nearer and nearer, more high-standing Democrats and successful businessmen will speak out what they truly believe about the impending economic disaster called Obama/Biden ticket.

It also makes me believe that “hope springeth eternal”.

Keep praying, my fellow Americans!

RNC’s Comprehensive Response on Fannie/Freddie Fiasco and the Roles of Obama Campaign

Cross-Posting of RNC's Response to the Wall Street Crisis

I find the following statements from the RNC to be clearly informative, highly detailed and right on the issue regarding the current financial market crisis due to the fall of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The link is in here.

It also proves how the Obama Campaign, especially Obama’s top advisers, is deeply linked to the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fiasco. The statement of Democratic Party’s Presidential Candidate Barack Obama falsely accusing the Republicans to be the cause of the problem is certainly hypocritical, unfair and irresponsible.

The surrogates of Obama in the mainstream media have already implied that the fall of the economy in general would favor the Democratic Party in this election. Such statements are unpatriotic, disrespectful and too uncaring to the financial problems being faced by the American people brought by the said financial crisis.

From the Republican National Committee (reformatted):

OBAMA ADVISOR JIM JOHNSON FORMER FANNIE MAE AND LEHMAN BROTHERS EXECUTIVES EXPANDED LOBBYING ACTIVITIES AND RECEIVED MILLIONS IN COMPENSATION

*Former CEO Of Fannie Mae And Former Obama Advisor Jim Johnson Resigned Under Criticism: *

Jim Johnson Is The Former CEO Of Fannie Mae. (David A. Vise, “Fannie Mae Lobbies Hard To Protect Its Tax Break,” The Washington Post, 1/16/95)

“Jim Johnson, The Former Chairman Of Fannie Mae Who Was One Of Three Advisors Tapped By Democrat Barack Obama To Vet Vice Presidential Candidates, Resigned Today After Questions Were Raised About Favoritism He May Have Received From Countrywide Financial Corp.” (Johanna Neuman, “Barack Obama Advisor Jim Johnson Quits Under Fire,” Los Angeles Times, 6/12/08)

Johnson Remains A Bundler For Obama’s Presidential Campaign And Has Committed To Raising $100,000 To $200,000. (Obama For America Website, www.barackobama.com, Accessed 5/19/08)

Johnson Earned Large Bonuses At Fannie Mae Due To An Accounting Manipulation:

In 1998, Fannie Mae’s Earnings Were Manipulated, Which Resulted In “Maximum Payouts” To Executives Including CEO Jim Johnson. “As CEO of Fannie Mae, Johnson, a former chief of staff to Vice President Walter F. Mondale and chairman of the board of the Kennedy Center, was the beneficiary of accounting in which Fannie Mae’s earnings were manipulated so that executives could earn larger bonuses. The accounting manipulation for 1998 resulted in the maximum payouts to Fannie Mae’s senior executives — $1.9 million in Johnson’s case — when the company’s performance that year would have otherwise resulted in no bonuses at all, according to reports in 2004 and 2006 by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight.” (Jonathan Weisman and David S. Hilzenrath, “Obama ‘s Choice Of Insider Draws Fire,” The Washington Post, 6/11/08)

The Manipulation Resulted In Johnson Receiving A Bonus Of Over $1.9 Million When He Otherwise Would Not Have Earned A Bonus. “An Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight report in September accused the company of improperly deferring $200 million of estimated expenses in 1998, which allowed management to receive full annual bonuses. Had the expenses been recorded that year, no bonuses would have been paid, the report said. Fannie Mae reported paying bonuses in 1998 to Johnson, who received $1.932 million; Raines, who then was chairman-designate, $1.11 million; Chief Operating Officer Lawrence M. Small, $1.108 million; Vice Chairman Jamie S. Gorelick, a former deputy attorney general, $779,625; Chief Financial Officer J. Timothy Howard, $493,750; and Robert J. Levin, who was executive vice president for housing and community development, $493,750.” (Albert B. Crenshaw, “High Pay At Fannie Mae For The Well-Connected,” The Washington Post, 12/23/04)

*Johnson Also Received Fees And Compensation From Fannie Mae Worth $3.3 Million Between 2001 And 2006. * “Johnson left the company before it was swept up in an accounting scandal that tarred its reputation, but even during the years of scandal, Johnson was reaping hundreds of thousands of dollars in consulting fees and other compensation, $3.3 million in all between 2001 and 2006.” (Jonathan Weisman and David S. Hilzenrath, “Obama’s Choice Of Insider Draws Fire,” The Washington Post, 6/11/08)

*Fannie Mae Incorrectly Reported Losses That Allowed Johnson To Receive A Large Bonus For The Year: *

In 1998, Fannie Mae Improperly Deferred $200 Million Dollars In Expenses, Which Allowed Johnson To Receive Nearly $2 Million In Bonuses; Johnson Would Not Have Received A Bonus If The Money Had Been Properly Expensed. Levin, who was executive vice president for housing an d community development, $493,750.” (Albert B. Crenshaw, “High Pay At Fannie Mae For The Well-Connected,” The Washington Post, 12/23/04)

Johnson Engineered An Effort To Lobby Politicians So That Fannie Mae Would Not Have To Pay Local Taxes To Washington, D.C.:

While Johnson Was CEO, Fannie Mae Did Not Have To Pay Washington D.C. Taxes Which Cost The City Hundreds Of Millions Per Year. “While Wall Street benefits from Fannie Mae’s prosperity, the District government does not. Fannie Mae, the biggest, most profitable company in Washington, is exempt from local income taxes. That exemption costs the cash-strapped D.C. government hundreds of millions of dollars a year.” (David A. Vise, “The Financial Giant That’s In Our Midst,” The Washington Post, 1/15/95)

“If Fannie Mae Were Required To Pay Taxes, It Would Wipe Out The District’s Budget Deficit.” (David A. Vise, “The Financial Giant That’s In Our Midst,” The Washington Post, 1/15/95)

Johnson Said That Fannie Mae Was “The Most Powerful Financial Firm In America” And He Urged Employees To Oppose Any New Taxes On The Company. “There is no reason they shouldn’t be subject to the tax,” said former House District Committee chairman Pete Stark. “It is not fair. They make huge profits,” the California Democrat said. The tax break is one of numerous congressionally conferred advantages that Fannie Mae officials preserve through a polished political operation directed by Jim Johnson, the company’s chairman and chief executive. In a talk with employees, Johnson described Fannie Mae as ‘the most powerful financial firm in America.’ He wants Fannie Mae employees to oppose forcefully any ne w effort to tax the company.” (David A. Vise, “The Financial Giant That’s In Our Midst,” The Washington Post, 1/15/95)

Johnson Devised A Strategy To Lobby D.C. Politicians So That Fannie Mae Would Not Have To Pay Local Taxes. “Last summer, D.C. Councilman Bill Lightfoot discovered a simple solution to the District’s financial crisis: eliminate a $ 300-million-a-year tax break for the city’s most profitable company, Fannie Mae. ‘I believe Fannie Mae ought to pay local taxes,’ Lightfoot said. ‘It practically solves the city’s financial crisis in one year. There is no public policy reason to exempt them. It is not fair.’ Inside Fannie Mae’s sprawling Wisconsin Avenue headquarters, Lightfoot’s proposal set off alarms. A team of executives led by chief executive Jim Johnson and Vice Chairman Frank Raines gathered around the firm’s 34-foot-long boardroom table to dec ide how to respond. They devised a bold strategy: Use the company’s considerable resources and political clout to prevent Lightfoot’s proposal from being voted on or publicly debated by council members, whom they feared would support the tax if it got on the agenda. ‘The task was to keep it from ever seeing the light of day,’ said Frederick D. Cooke Jr., one of the highly regarded lobbyists Fannie Mae hired to quash the proposal. ‘What we didn’t want to do was have a big public debate about this.’” (David A. Vise, “Fannie Mae Lobbies Hard To Protect Its Tax Break,” The Washington Post, 1/16/95)

•”In Addition To Enlisting The Lobbying Help Of The Local Charitable Groups It Supported, Fannie Mae Hired A Team Of Top Lobbyists To Persuade D.C. Politicians To Drop The Tax Proposal Without A Vote.” (David A. Vise, “Fannie Mae Lobbies Hard To Protect Its Tax Break,” The Washington Post, 1/16/95)

In 1998, Johnson Opened A Lobbying Office For Fannie Mae In Oklahoma:

In 1998, Johnson, Then-CEO Of Fannie Mae, Hosted The Opening Ceremony Of A Lobbying Office In Oklahoma. “The concern is whether such efforts were made to bolster Fannie’s business more than to advance philanthropic goals. Critics say the foundation helped to reinforce ties with various congressional groups forged by Fannie’s in-house lobbyists. At times the two seemed indistinguishable: They often sponsored events in tandem. Both were big donors to the CBCF’s annual awards gala in 2003 and a similar black-tie event for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in 2002. In 1998, then-CEO Jim Johnson hosted the opening ceremony of a lobbying and public relations office in Oklahoma, an event attended by former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating and then-Senator Don Nickles (R-Okla.). But wearing his other hat as the foundation’s chairman, Johnson also took the opportunity to announce $125,000 worth of grants to local charities.” (Dawn Kopecki, “Philanthropy, Fannie Mae Style,” Business Week, 4/2/07)

Johnson Recruited Current Obama Economic Policy Advisor Former Commerce Secretary William Daley As A Lobbyist For Fannie Mae:

Former Commerce Secretary *William Daley * Serves As An Obama Advisor For Economic Policy. “At his stop in New Mexico, Obama sought to keep the focus almost exclusively on the economy, appearing with a panel of experts that included William Daley, brother of Chicago Mayor Richard Daley and a former U.S. commerce secretary.” (John McCormick and Jill Zuckman, “Rivals Spend Day As Frequent Fliers,” Chicago Tribune, 2/2/08)

Former Fannie Mae CEO Jim Johnson Recruited Former Sec. Daley As A Lobbyist For Fannie Mae. “Fannie’s government relations operations dramatically expanded in the mid-1990s, when then-CEO Johnson recruited Washington A-listers Robert Zoellick, who served in the Reagan and Bush administrations; Lawrence M. Small, former secretary of the Smithsonian Institution; and William M. Daley, commerce secretary in the Clinton administration.” (Lisa Lerer, “Fannie, Freddie Spent $200M To Buy Influence,” The Politico, 7/16/08)

*From 2002 Through 2005, Daley Was A Registered Lobbyist For Fannie Mae. *(U.S. Senate Office Of Public Records Website, soprweb.senate.gov, Accessed 7/27/08)

Before Heading Fannie Mae, Johnson Was A Registered Foreign Agent For Lehman Brothers:

In The 1980s, Johnson Worked For Shearson Lehman Brothers. “In the early 1980s Johnson had already started his own Washington consulting company, Public Strategies, with his Carter administration colleague Richard Holbrooke. And now he followed Holbrooke to Wall Street as an investment banker at Shearson Lehman Brothers.” (Lloyd Grove, “The Big Chair,” The Washington Post, 3/27/98)

OBAMA ADVISOR FRANK RAINES: FORMER FANNIE MAE CEO INVOLVED IN ACCOUNTING SCANDAL

Obama Has Solicited Advice From Former Fannie Mae CEO Franklin Raines Who Was “Under The Shadow Of A $6.3 Billion Accounting Scandal”:

The *Obama Campaign Has Solicited Franklin Raines, Who “Stepped Down As Fannie Mae’s Chief Executive Under The Shadow Of A $6.3 Billion Accounting Scandal,” *For Advice On Mortgage And Housing Policy. “In the four years since he stepped down as Fannie Mae’s chief executive under the shadow of a $6.3 billion accounting scandal, Franklin D. Raines has been quietly constructing a new life for himself. He has shaved eight points off his golf handicap, taken a corner office in Steve Case’s D.C. conglomeration of finance, entertainment and health-care companies and more recently, taken calls from Barack Obama’s presidential campaign seeking his advice on mortgage and housing policy matters.” (Anita Huslin, “On The Outside Now, Watching Fannie Falter,” The Washington Post, 7/16/08)

*Like Jim Johnson, Raines Received Low-Rate Home Loans From Countrywide, A Major Seller To Fannie Mae. *“Fannie Mae’s former CEO, Jim Johnson, resigned Wednesday as the leader of likely Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama’s search for a running mate after The Wall Street Journal reported that he and another former CEO, Franklin Raines, received low-rate home loans from troubled mortgage lender Countrywide Financial Corp. a major seller of home loans to Fannie Mae.” (Alan Zibel, “Fannie Mae CEO Says Ethics Policy Bans Discounts,” The Associated Press, 6/12/08)

Former Fannie Mae Chairman Frank Raines Was Accused Of Manipulating The Company’s Earnings. “Former Fannie Mae chairman and chief executive Franklin D. Raines, accused of manipulating the housing finance company’s earnings, is challenging regulators to make their case against him beginning Feb. 16 instead of waiting until the end of the year.” (David S. Hilzenrath, “Fannie Mae’s Former Chief Wants Earlier Hearing Date,” The Washington Post, 2/6/07)

Raines Was Forced Out As Fannie Mae’s CEO In December 2004. “Former chief executive Franklin D. Raines and chief financial officer J. Timothy Howard were forced out Tuesday night after accounting mistakes that could cost Fannie $9 billion in reported profit.” (David S. Hilzenrath, “Fannie Mae Exit Packages Face Review,” The Washington Post, 12/23/04)

Under Raines’ Leadership, Fannie Mae Committed “Extensive Financial Fraud” And Was Forced To Pay A $400 Million Civil Penalty. “In a May report, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight found that Fannie Mae under Raines perpetrated ‘extensive financial fraud’ so that executives could collect big bonuses. There have been no criminal charges, but the conduct of Raines and other senior Fannie executives ‘was inconsistent with the values of responsibility, accountability, and integrity,’ the agencies said. Fannie paid a $400 million civil penalty this year to the SEC and OFHEO.” (Jay Hancock, Op-Ed, “Raines Claiming Accountability Isn’t Enough,” The [Baltimore] Sun, 12/10/06)

OBAMA DEMOCRATS BLOCKED REFORM OF FANNIE MAE AND FREDDIE MAC

Sen. John McCain Urged Action Years Ago To Reform Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac:

John McCain Urged Action More Than 2 Years Ago, Co-Sponsoring Legislation To Reform Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac Warning: “If Congress Does Not Act, American Taxpayers Will Continue To Be Exposed To The Enormous Risk That Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac Pose To The Housing Market, The Overall Financial System, And The Economy As A Whole.” McCain: “I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation. If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole.” (Office Of U.S. Senator John McCain, “McCain Statement On Co-Sponsorship Of The Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act Of 2005,” Press Release, 5/26/06)

For Years, Obama Supporters In Congressional Oversight Committees Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) And Sens. Chris Dodd (D-CT) And Chuck Schumer (D-NY) Blocked Efforts To Reform Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac:

*”The Powerhouse Democratic Overseers Of The Banking Committees — Rep. Barney Frank, Sen. Christopher Dodd And Sen. Chuck Schumer — Protected Fannie And Freddie.” *(Robert Novak, Op-Ed, “Crony Image Dogs Paulson’s Rescue Effort,” Chicago Sun-Times, 7/17/08)

Frank Blocked Multiple Attempts At Reform Spanning Back To 1992:

*”[Frank's] Record Is Close To Perfect As A Stalwart Opponent Of Reforming The Two Companies, Going Back More Than A Decade. The First Concerted Push To Rein In Fan And Fred In Congress Came As Far Back As 1992, And Mr. Frank Was Right There, Standing Athwart. But Things Really Picked Up This Decade, And Barney Was There At Every Turn.” *(Editorial, “Fannie Mae’s Patron Saint,” The Wall Street Journal, 9/10/08)

*”In 2000, Then-Rep. Richard Baker Proposed A Bill To Reform Fannie And Freddie’s Oversight. Mr. Frank Dismissed The Idea, Saying Concerns About The Two Were ‘Overblown’ And That There Was ‘No Federal Liability There Whatsoever.’” *(Editorial, “Fannie Mae’s Patron Saint,” The Wall Street Journal, 9/10/08)

“Two Years Later, Mr. Frank Was At It Again. ‘I Do Not Regard Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac As Problems,’ He Said In Response To Another Reform Push. And Then: ‘I Regard Them As Great Assets.’” (Editorial, “Fannie Mae’s Patron Saint,” The Wall Street Journal, 9/10/08)

“Again In June 2003, The Favorite Of The Beltway Press Corps Assured The Public That ‘There Is No Federal Guarantee’ Of Fan And Fred Obligations.” (Editorial, “Fannie Mae’s Patron Saint,” The Wall Street Journal, 9/10/08)

“A Month Later, Freddie Mac’s Multibillion-Dollar Accounting Scandal Broke Into The Open. But Mr. Frank Was Sanguine. ‘I Do Not Think We Are Facing Any Kind Of A Crisis,’ He Said At The Time.” (Editorial, “Fannie Mae’s Patron Saint,” The Wall Street Journal, 9/10/08)

“Three Months Later He Repeated The Claim That Fannie And Freddie Posed No ‘Threat To The Treasury.’ Even Suggesting That Heresy, He Added, Could Become ‘A Self-Fulfilling Prophecy.’” (Editorial, “Fannie Mae’s Patron Saint,” The Wall Street Journal, 9/10/08)

“In April 2004, Fannie Announced A Multibillion-Dollar Financial ‘Misstatement’ Of Its Own. Mr. Frank Was Back For The Defense. Fannie And Freddie Posed No Risk To Taxpayers, He Said, Adding That ‘I Think Wall Street Will Get Over It’ If The Two Collapsed.” (Editorial, “Fannie Mae’s Patron Saint,” The Wall Street Journal, 9/10/08)

Dodd Led Efforts To Block Reform Of Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac:

Obama Joined Sen. Dodd, Sen. Kerry, And Sen. Clinton – All Top Recipients Of Fannie And Freddie Contributions In Actively Opposing Reform Measures And Weakening Existing Regulations. “During this period, Sen. Richard Shelby led a small group of legislators favoring reform, including fellow Republican Sens. John Sununu, Chuck Hagel and Elizabeth Dole. Meanwhile, Dodd — who along with Democratic Sens. John Kerry, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were the top four recipients of Fannie and Freddie campaign contributions from 1988 to 2008 — actively opposed such measures and further weakened existing regulation.” (Al Hubbard and Noam Neusner, Op-Ed, “Where Was Sen. Dodd?” The Washington Post, 9/12/08)

Sen. Dodd Called The President’s Suggestions For Regulations “Inane” And Recommended The President “Immediately Reconsider His Ill-Advised” Proposals. “As recently as last summer, when housing prices had clearly peaked and the mortgage market had started to seize up, Dodd called on Bush to ‘immediately reconsider his ill-advised’ reform proposals. Frank, now chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, said that the president’s suggestion for a strong, independent regulator of Fannie and Freddie was ‘inane.’” (Al Hubbard and Noam Neusner, Op-Ed, “Where Was Sen. Dodd?” The Washington Post, 9/12/08)

Dodd Called On The Regulator For Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac To Lift Portfolio Caps. “Both Schumer and Christopher J. Dodd, D-Conn., the chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, have called on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s regulator to lift the portfolio caps. They argue that allowing the two firms to buy more mortgages, at least temporarily, would inject much needed liquidity into the market and calm the financial markets.” (Michael R. Crittenden, “Schumer Will Seek To Lift Cap On Mortgage Portfolios Of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac,” Congressional Quarterly Today, 8/16/07)

NOTE: Dodd Was The Top Recipient Of Contributions From Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac:

Since 1989, Dodd Has Received At Least $165,400 From Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac: $48,500 From PACs And $116,900 From Individuals, Receiving More Than Any Other Politician. (Lindsay Renick Mayer, “Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac Invest In Lawmakers,” Center For Responsive Politics’ “Capital Eye” Blog, www.opensecrets.org, 9/11/08)

Schumer Led Efforts To Block Reform Of Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac:

Schumer Called On The Regulator For Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac To Lift Portfolio Caps.

*Rep. Frank And Sens. Schumer And Dodd Protected Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac. *“The powerhouse Democratic overseers of the banking committees — Rep. Barney Frank, Sen. Christopher Dodd and Sen. Chuck Schumer — protected Fannie and Freddie.” (Robert Novak, Op-Ed, “Crony Image Dogs Paulson’s Rescue Effort,” Chicago Sun-Times, 7/17/08)

After The Subprime Housing Crisis Began, Schumer Advocated Raising The Cap On What Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac Could Lend. “Even last September, as the subprime housing crisis began to metastasize and the market was expressing concerns about the pair, Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), the powerful chair of the Senate banking subcommittee on housing, had the very bad (and ultimately rejected) idea of raising the cap on what Fannie and Freddie could lend by 10 percent. Since then the companies have reported losses of $11 billion, and there’s uncertainty about just how much more damage there will be from future defaults.” (Editorial, “We Can’t Say No, But We Can Regulate Them,” [New York] Newsday, 7/20/08)

Despite Reports Of Fraudulent Accounting, Schumer Opposed Creating A Strong Regulator For Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac In 2004. “Even after Freddie Mac was shown to have manipulated earnings, Congress remained deadlocked over legislation to create a stronger regulator. Opposing one such bill in 2004, Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) argued that a hostile regulator could use the proposed powers to choke the companies.” (David S. Hilzenrath, “Fannie, Freddie Deflected Risk Warnings,” The Washington Post, 7/14/08)

We need to make it sure that all these information are disseminated to all Americans. This is the only way to unmask the Audacity of Hyprocrisy by Senator Barack Obama and his accomplices.

SOMEBODY MUST BE MADE ACCOUNTABLE THIS TIME AROUND!

Corsi’s Article: McCain was right since 2005 about Fannie & Freddie

OMG! I didn't read Ken Taylor's diary.

I missed Ken Taylor’s superb article on the subject. Sorry Ken. However, I have removed the major text of this diary. Readers may just visit Ken Taylor’s diary on the same subject for better analysis and narrative.

My purpose here is to support Ken Taylor’s diary by linking his diary to the article made by Jerome Corsi at the WorldNetDaily. Corsi has narrated the past efforts of Sen. John McCain to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Here is own summary of the said Corsi Article.

First:

John McCain’s 2005 speech indicates that McCain is right from the beginning. He did it not because there was an election but he really believed that the American People must be protected by the corruption happening inside the two GSEs.

“For years *I have been concerned about the regulatory structure *that governs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – known as government-sponsored entities or GSEs – and the sheer magnitude of these companies and the role they play in the housing market.”

Second:

McCain supported the passage of proposed Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005. With respect to the said ill-fated proposed Bill, Corsi remarked that:

The bill passed the House but was never brought up for a vote in the Senate, largely because of Democratic opposition to change in the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac regulatory structure that remained in place until the Treasury takeover two weeks ago.

Third:

Corsi has also made bold allegations on how Obama and some leading Democrat Senators benefitted from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lobbyists (PAC and individuals.) The same people who caused the collapse of the said GSEs. Here is another excerpt from Corsi’s article:

In the aftermath of the U.S. government takeover, attention has focused on three Democrats with close ties to Obama who served as Fannie Mae executives: Franklin Raines, former Clinton administration budget director; James Johnson, former aide to Democratic Vice President Walter Mondale; and Jamie Gorelick, former Clinton administration deputy attorney general.

All three Obama-related executives earned millions in compensation from Fannie Mae.

Johnson earned $21 million in just his last year serving as Fannie Mae CEO from 1991 to 1998; Raines earned $90 million in his five years as Fannie Mae CEO, from 1999 to 2004; and Gorelick earned an estimated $26 million serving as vice chair of Fannie Mae from 1998 to 2003, according to author David Frum, a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute.

All three have been involved in mortgage-related financial scandals.

It’s so ironic that the man painted by the MSM as an “economic moron” is the only Senator who has stood up and warned the Government of the need for reform of the said GSEs.

Fourth:

My Question is: Why is McCain not explaining to the public about the saga of the Fannie and Freddie collapse three years after he made that heroic announcement?

Senator, your modesty and humility have become your campaign’s main weakness. This is a very crucial election and you must shout to the roof all your accomplishments and efforts, knowing that the MSM (excluding FoxNews) are already in the tank of Obama.

McCain Sings Barbra Streisand {Humor}

McCain does it better than Barbra.

Barbra Streisand sang in a fundraising activity for Obama.

With no chance of inviting Barbra in his rallies, John McCain has just produced a DVD of his own rendition of Barbra’s immortal classics.

McCain Sings Streisand!

I like it when McCain sings Barbra’s song. What about you?

Hillary Supporter Lynn Forester de Rothschild Defecting to McCain?

The list of defectors gets longer everyday.

Some of us may still recall Ms. Debra Bartoshevich, an elected Wisconsin delegate to Democratic National Convention, who announced in June 2008 that she planned to vote for John McCain in November. Link

The latest addition to the list of defectors is the prominent Hillary supporter, Mrs. Lynn Forester de Rothschild. Note that she will not just vote for McCain; she will even endorse and support the ticket.

Here is the excerpt of the announcement from CNN Politics:

Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.

The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.

Link to the said news is in here.

Mrs. Rotschild’s announcement will also bring good vibes to Sarah Palin’s appearance at Hannity & Colmes, which is also scheduled today at FoxNews.

We’ve heard some bad news in the past few days. I just hope that these news will somehow cheer us up.

And if I may add, today marks the 221st anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution.

Happy Constitution Day!!!!

Atlantic-hired Photographer: McCain must look diabolic at all cost!

Democrat photographer's work of art and the Sarah Palin spoof.

Noel Sheppard of Newsbuster has recently reported that a hardcore, Bush-hater, democrat photographer mishandled the photo-shoot of McCain for the cover of the latest edition of the Atlantic Magazine. Here. The photographer, as per report, intentionally made McCain to look sinister and diabolical. Here is the sample (although very small) look of the said Atlantic cover.

On the other hand, Sarah Palin is now the main character of a spoof. Sarah is being depicted as bible-thumping, immoral woman vice president. The spoof has a title of “Bibleside Chat with Sarah Palin”. Hereis the link to the sample videos.

Although not surprising, this election has become a very hostile environment for our Republican ticket. I believe that we are fighting enemies greater than us (both seen and unseen). The danger lies in fighting the unseen enemies. Only prayers and conviction are our main weapon in winning this war against the forces of socialism and nihilism within our midst.

Obama’s rolling off his sleeves

Instead of "The One"...... Obama is now "one of us"

My take: Obama is trying to look like Palin, your “Average American”. *The Obama Camp already knows that his “Ivy League” records won’t save this election for him. The only problem is his team mate: Obama is stealing Biden’s byline…. *America’s Average Joe. Is Obama now dissing his Ivy League education? I would say another Obama-icon thrown under the bus.

On the other hand, Politico also has a special cover story to officially welcome Sarah Palin. The headline goes like this: “Palin’s Cold Shoulder”. * (Thanks! shoulder only, not heart). The story, however, aims to paint *Palin as the Next Cheney. The story was backed up by testimonies of ordinary (Anti-Palin?) Alaskans. Special thanks to “some” of the Alaskan contributors for the outstanding success of the report. Is it really payback time for some of you?

To sum up, the Dem Party’s *”Destroy Palin” Battle Cry *is now moving with haste.

My take: I wonder why nobody from the media wants to visit Illinois and do the same exemplary, thorough and un-biased vetting. This time, it will be for **the One. No budget allocated yet? I don’t think so. No instruction given yet? Hmmm…probably.

Sarah remember your roots:

Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth.

Sarah, be wise like a serpent, and pray to your God. You have all of our support.

And you have McCain. He will never leave us in battle.
